We had a lovely stay at The Cottage!
The house is large and spacious, with plenty of room to cater for family groups. It was a huge bonus to have a hot tub, and a play room as well as child-friendly dishes and cutlery.
Would definitely recommend!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Cottage which has incredible views in addition to being spacious and beautiful! The kitchen had everything we needed to eat in but we also enjoyed the local cafe a walk away in town. We walked everywhere, the 4 kids had a blast every day between the shore and the cliffs. Henry is so responsive and kind. We would definitely recommend The Cottage and St Margaret's Bay!

Beautiful location- perfect for coastal walks to Dover and Deal.
Beautiful location- perfect for coastal walks to Dover and Deal. The views from the balcony are out of this world and the photos on the website do not justify the beauty. The cottage itself is very well equipped and the vintage decor is interesting. Could do with a change of furniture in the lounge. The large dining table was perfect for our group and we enjoyed our meals together. The caretaker was very helpful. The owners always responsive to any queries. Will definitely recommend to our friends.

We had a wonderful pre-Christmas long weekend at The Cottage.
We had a wonderful pre-Christmas long weekend at The Cottage. A gorgeous old house with verandas on each level and beautiful views out to the sea and all the way to France. Lovely big bedrooms all with sofas or chairs and lots of bathroom space. The sitting room has huge comfy settees just right to curl up on in front of the open fireplace. Christmas decorations had been put up complete with twinkling tree. The ground floor is on different levels with quaint steps and corridors leading to each room. It's a lovely home to relax with friend and family. From the house there is a 10 minute steep walk to and from the beach and lovely walks along the the top of the White Cliffs. We loved it.

Big house in great location with views to the French coast.
Big house in great location with views to the French coast. Local pub, shop and cliff walks available on foot.
Cliff top location means it gets the wind and it was very cold the first night (in November) - we’ve fed this back to the owner as heating needs to be on for a few hours if property was empty before. Wood burner was very welcome!
State of property was a bit variable. Clean and smart bathrooms but kitchen has old wooden furniture and toasters balanced on top of freezers etc so it feels quite basic. Comfortable beds and nice bedrooms. Garden a good size but a little abandoned (flooded BBQs and plastic toys littered around).
Summary is a big, comfortable period property in a great location, but might be cold in winter and possibly some TLC needed.

Fantastic family home and perfect for a 4 generation family to get ready at and to have a Sunday post wedding gathering . The view is unparallelled ,the gardens well maintained and the 'local ' is actually on the beach ! (difficult walk for grandma)
We were made very welcome by Henry and the house was well presented in all aspects with ample catering equipment ....We did discuss if the property could be improved with a new kitchen and general overhaul but concluded that the 'quirkyness ', charm and almosts stately home feel of the property would be lost if you did ..
The essentials such as bathrooms have all been completely updated as with the hot tub and feel that the owners made the right choice by having the bathrooms brought up to modern and high quality standards .
If we had constructive comments , it would be that the off road car parking looks bigger in the photos (ample parking overall), that the balconies should be next on the to do list , the loft room could do with a small ensuite and a compost would be nice ......but this is being really picky and absolutely none of the above detract us from recommneding this as a great place to stay and it being good value for money ...I sincerely hope you get to experience this wonderful , homely property and have a great holiday .

We had a wonderful stay in The Cottage. A beautiful house with stunning sea views from so many rooms. It was great having lots of different places to sit for a large party - including the downstairs games room for the kids! Our only caveat is that the dishwasher is on the small side. We absolutely loved it - we'll be back.

The house itself was a bit tired and the sofas not the most comfortable also dvd player played up which was a let down.
Could do with another kettle and some more mugs and glasses.
On a more positive note cannot fault the location the bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable everyone stated they slept like logs.
We are a group of ladies mostly retired who go away each year for a weekend unfortunately the steps will be too much for some of us again so will not be returning.
