We weren't familiar with the area but chose the property for size and facilities.
The property was really warm, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Plenty of kitchen equipment for us to cook for 19.
The grounds were lovely.
A good base for a day out in the lakes too.
Highly recommended!

We had a lovely 4 night stay, to celebrate my 40th birthday with my family, in the beautifully converted Stables at Blaithwaite House.
I’m a wheelchair user (paraplegic SCI - complete T12/L1) and the accommodation provides level access throughout with 2 ground floor bedrooms that have en suite wet rooms. These bathrooms have well sited grabrails (toilet and shower) but unfortunately the showers do not have flip down shower seats (though a patio chair was provided). The property was well furnished to suit a large group with 3 dining tables, lots of clean and well maintained sofas.
The outdoor space was amazing with beautifully kept gardens, 2 children’s play areas, a games room (2 pool tables and 2 table tennis tables), crazy golf and lawn chess, so there’s plenty on site to keep you occupied.
Amongst our group was 5 dogs and Blaithwaite’s owners were happy to accommodate them.
I would recommend staying at Blaithwaite Stables and found the owners to be helpful and friendly.

Wow, where to start here? This property is AMAZING! We had a team building retreat over two days here and not a single person (out of 20) had anything negative to say. The property is clean, well decorated, and HUGE. We managed to cook several meals for 20 people in the kitchen so it is doable.
The surrounding grounds are breathtaking and safe to explore, plenty of parking, and quiet.
Thank you so much, it was incredible.

It was very clean, warm and lots of hot water. There was plenty of space and lovely bedrooms. The only criticism was the lack of cooking dishes, utensils etc that made it very difficult to cook a proper dinner for a large amount of people.
