Perfect location for water activities and local events. All family members from 0-91 enjoyed.
4.0 / 5.0
Owners were on site in a trailer and very helpful and accommodating with any requests. Sandpoint is an amazing place to vacation and we had a great time. We were slightly disappointed by the property not being on the water and the dock area and water quality were suboptimal for swimming and playing in the water. The owners were not misleading about the location/water access at all, I didn't research the property well enough prior to booking.

Proceed with caution- deflection and unaccountability
1. The property is NOT waterfront, but it suited our family with small children. The neighborhood is nice.
2. The property does NOT have 6 bedrooms, one is a tiny laundry room with bunkbeds in it which does not allow you to access washer and dryer fully. The other is a small family room/hallway leading to a bedroom which has a bed in it. Very uncomfortable for members of different families.
3. Per owners request, we notified them of freshly dried blood on bed linens in master bedroom, mold/grime on multiple cooking dishes and utensils, old food and dirty laundry in couches, kitchen floors had piles of cereal and dirt in several places. All ceiling fans were unusable with thick dust mites, three members of our family required medical attention and medication for severe allergies. We had a large unopened box of 30 bags of chips next to the breezeway door inside the home. On day 5, we found mice had eaten through the box and into several bags of chips making them not edible. We notified the owners of these issues on day one and two subsequent times via phone calls, text messages with photos and physical inspection to no avail. Open chemical containers, sharp tools, and a broken (open-doored) freezer were exposed in the garage exposing risk to small children who had their bikes and scooters. Grossly negligent Mrs. Reina indicated she would address these issues after we left and Mr. Reina indicated he would give our personal information to the cleaning agency and we could deal with them ourselves. Neither option is acceptable.
The owners LIVE in a trailer IN the driveway and were very intrusive during the entire stay except when they needed to resolve issues. No attempts were made to resolve even the blood stained linens upon visual inspection by owner. Incredibly awkward and unprofessional. There is a washer/dryer in the garage for guest use; my daughter was frightened by Mr. Reina as he was there was there doing his personal laundry during our stay. Completely inappropriate.
Many in our group work in healthcare and have been held to a high standard of cleanliness during the pandemic. The CDC has regulated standards for rental properties and lodging accommodations. Blood pathogens and stained dirty linens are inexcusable. Each of our requests for resolution ended with deflection and unaccountability. Very disappointing.
As guests, we paid premium lodging fees and cleaning fees for substandard services and accommodations.

big crew
Roomy place to stay. We had a big crew and there was plenty of room to spread out. Had a great time. Would have been nice to have direct lake access. Hot tub got a bit murky after a few days.

Superb House and Location
We came to Sandpoint after Covid put the kibosh on a planed European cruise. Suffice it to say that we couldn't have enjoyed a better consolation prize. Everything was superb, from the house to the location.

Good for the price, not true waterfront
The house is nice and holds a big group of all ages. The kids had fun riding bikes out front. The hot tub, pool table, and ping pong was a big hit with everyone. The property’s water access is down the road which meant there was no hanging out by the water. Also, it was the end of summer so swimming in the sagle sough was not recommended which meant we couldn’t swim off the dock. The house had very poor water pressure and lack some basic amenities like 9x13 pans, hand mixer, hot pads (which the owners bought when we brought this to their attention), dish rags, toilet paper was not stocked as advertised, etc. Owners were very nice and easy to communicate with. They are very picky about the 11:00 check out. Overall, it was a good experience but there are reasons they can’t charge more than they do.

Annual family/friend trip
Our group takes an annual trip every year together. Normally, we use our trailers but decided to look for a house for our very large group. Mick and LeDette's house was perfect! We had more than enough room for all of us and the location is perfect. It was a quick trip into town and the access to the lake was just a short walk. Mick and LeDette were very easy to communicate with prior to and during our trip as well. I highly recommend staying with them!
Thank you so much, our group had a great time 💗

Enjoyable stay
The property managers are friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them. The description was a bit misleading in that the wall air conditioners were only in the main living area and 2 of the bedrooms and the main living area a/c struggled to keep that area cooled. But the property was clean and in working order.

Nothing was as they said it would be
I was waiting to write this review to see if Mick and Reina were going to be decent human beings and return my car key that I accidentally left at their home. The fact that they held it for ransom trying to extract money from us for alleged damages to their boat speaks to their character and why I would definitely not suggest anyone rent from them. (I still have not received the key) We arrived after 4:30 (check in is 4) they weren’t finished cleaning and we ended up finishing the laundry ourselves. Also garbage under one of the beds. The fact that we were accommodating on arrival meant nothing-Reina complained to me that my family had stayed later than check out. Firepit area that was shown on the listing did not have any chairs and was told, “no one really uses the firepit and we don’t want you using it in that area”. What??? There were no rafts that they told me they would have. Two of the king beds were HORRIBLE. One was super lumpy and the other had such a dip in the bed that my brother had to sleep on a mattress on the floor. BTW, the owners, live in an RV in the driveway. If you still decide to rent this home, DO NOT rent the boat from Mick! Before we decided to rent the boat, I asked him if it was equipped to pull a tube and if he had the equipment, he said yes. He also told us it could hold 16 people but quickly overheated with 14.The boat was NOT equipped to pull a tube.To pull a tube it gets pulled off a rod up high in the middle of the back of the boat.He wanted us to pull it from a cleat on one side. and go slowly in one direction. We tried it the next day.The boat kept overheating. We told him. He looked at it and said there was nothing wrong with it. We said we didn’t want to rent it for the rest of the week b/c we couldn’t use it the way that we had wanted to. In the end we agreed that they would give us $1000 back and that would cover the two days we actually used the boat and the gas. That was Tuesday afternoon. Rest of stay was uneventful and we checked out assuming everything was good. We got to the airport and realized that we had left our car key at the house.Reina said that she would express mail it back to us. She later texted that they would send the key back with the understanding that we would pay for gas that we used for the boat and damages to the boat. If they had thought that we had damaged the boat, I would have thought they would have addressed that BEFORE giving us any of our $ back or before we left.

Wonderful Week in Northern Idaho!
Great location with lake access and private dock. Lovely, spacious home perfect for large families. Comfortably slept 18 guests ranging in age from 4-66. Quiet neighborhood away from traffic. Private dock was perfect for swimming / hanging out near the water and only minutes from the big water for boating and watersports. Fantastic spot!

Wonderful
I came with a group of 10 friends. There was plenty of space for all of us. The yard was wonderful for playing lawn games, the dock was easily accessible, and communication with the owners was exceptional. We rented their pontoon boat for one day and overall had the best weekend getaway!

Excellent house for large family, almost waterfront
Our extended family of 14 stayed for a week in August and it was an excellent property! More than enough room for all of us, including 7 teens, three couples and our senior mom. Kitchen was well set up for cooking, nice large living room for tv and ping pong/ pool games. Bedroom configuration allowed for two couples' privacy, extra beds for kids' sleepovers, and a nice master to accommodate 6 if needed. The large one-bay garage was great for storage and included a second fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Great service from Mitch and LeDette no matter what we needed. The only drawback--which is stated in the description--is the approx. half- block walk to the private dock and only water access. It would have been nice to have a walkout to the water's edge, but the other amenities and price more than made up for it. Thank you, Mick and LeDette, for a family week we won't forget!

25 year reunion
This was a beautiful home in a great location. We all felt we had enough room for everyone to have their personal space. The large kitchen and open living room to deck and backyard was nice. We enjoyed the bike rides across the long bridge into town and appreciated the convenience of how close we were. Mick and LaDette were wonderful host.
We can't wait to come back!

Excellent Stay for a Much Needed Vacation!
We had two families totaling nine people stay for ten days at this property and we had nothing short of a fabulous time! The location is great, there is close access to a private dock for water activities, and the house is comfortable and roomy. We easily had room for a third family to comfortably stay with us if needed. Mick and LeDette are terrific-- very good with communication and responsive to our needs. By way of example, the coffee maker wasn't working on day one and Mick replaced it with a new one the same day. We also appreciated the little things like providing shampoo, lotion, and little extras in the kitchen like spices and oil. Overall, we had an amazing time and really hated to have to leave at the end. During the pandemic in late June, the weather was really good and it seemed like we had the lake all to ourselves! I highly recommend renting one of Mick's pontoon boats and his jet skis-- being out on the lake regularly is a must. Thanks Mick and LeDette-- we will be back!

Lots of fun here
The property worked well for our group of 14. It is bright and open and spacious.
We loved the hot tub, and used it a lot!
The swimming area is a short walk to get to, and there is no beach by the house, but the dock area that belongs to the property is beautiful, and shaded and lots of fun for kids! There is a great beach in Sandpoint, a short 5-10 min drive, we had lots of fun there as well.
The property owners are very friendly and helpful if you need anything!
We had a great time here!!! ☺️

Great Property
We can't describe how service oriented the property owners were. Excellent service! We had a family reunion with 4 generations of family and this beautiful property suited us perfectly. Large rooms and plenty of kitchen space for multiple cooks. Lots of fridge and freezer space. Great follow through after the trip. A+++

Mick was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the experience.
This is the first time we had rented a home for a vacation. The home was beautiful and the owner was friendly and helpful when we needed him. We enjoyed the lake, boating, fishing, and I took my first canoe ride! Everyone enjoyed the pool table, playing cards and the hot tub. It had everything we needed for a week long rental for our enjoyment and entertainment. The only thing we had to get was groceries. I would highly recommend anyone needing a vacation home on the lake to this property. It was fun to explore the lake and have fun on the boat. I would book this home again if the opportunity presented itself.
Thanks Pat Christofferson

Great for large groups / families with kids
Just about everything worked great for our group staying here. We had a fairly large group of multiple families and friends staying for Memorial Week. There were a few minor maintenance items that needed to be attended to, but Mick was super responsive to all of our questions and requests, so we were very pleased on that end. One of the best things about this home is that there are kind of two "wings" to it. The 2 rooms over the garage were great for the louder 10 and 7 year old boys and also for my husband and I with our 7 month old. Everyone in the downstairs could literally be as loud as they wanted and still not disturb our sleeping baby.
Thanks Mick for a great stay! We will try to return in the future as soon as we get a chance :)

The house has a lot of beds but needs some TLC
We had 10 guests stay at the White House and the house had plenty of beds and bathrooms. The hot tub was nice after a long day skiing and the kitchen had most of the things we needed for our three night stay. Mick was very nice to coordinate with but unfortunately there we more cons than I expected for the description and price. The “Paradise Suite” shower never got hot water in the 3 days we stayed in the house while all other showers did - pretty frustrating for a room that is advertised as the nicest in the house. We tried testing it when no one else had showered, different times of day, adjusting the knobs (because some of the other bathrooms are opposite) etc. The king bedroom with en suite had a bunch of ants on the floor and the pocket door was off its track so you couldn’t close the door. The house didn’t have hand soap in most bathrooms, only one roll of paper towels (we ended up going to the store and buying some), and it didn’t look like the house had been thoroughly cleaned - we found Cheerios on the living room carpet (which brought the ants from the bathroom out to the living room) and the paradise suite shower had partially used soap bars and hair in it. The house had no check in/check out instructions, WIFI information, or a binder of what you typical have in any kind of rental with that kind of information.
All in all, the house had plenty of space for our group, both in beds and living room space, and the location is close to the MT (25 minutes to the top), but the rental amenity experience and cleanliness of the house left a lot to be desired. For the price and the previous ratings, I would expect a more holistically organized experience.
I’m hoping that the issues above are because the house is newly rented as an AirBnb and they are still working out the kinks. Mick was very nice and he probably would have been happy to address the issues above, but when you’re renting an AirBNB, you don’t want to have to bother the owner or disrupt your weekend plans to have things taken care of that should have been vetted before guests arrive.

Nice big place with plenty of room
Great for our 3 families! Close to Sandpoint and Schweitzer mountain as we went skiing for 3 days. Could use and updated main TV but we enjoyed the pool table. We'd rent this again. Looks like it would be great for summer as well as we didn't get to use the yard or lake access.

Good space for family get together.
None of the remotes worked. The water heater was set very low. You shouldn't have to pay a dog fee to keep your dog in the garage, you should either be dog friendly or not.
The hot tub was nice and so was the fireplace.

Great house. Lots of room inside. Outside no privacy.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. August 19-23, stayed at the white house for 5 days. The house is nice. Had alot of rooms, everyone had a place to sleep. Alot of extra blankets. All tho it needs some little improvement done to it. The outside is not too kids friendly. No privacy from neighbors. To get to the dock you need to walk through other people's property, not convenient with kids.
OVER ALL WE HAD A GREAT STAY.

Wonderful Time
My family and I had a wonderful time this past week at Mick and LeDette’s house in Sagle. Mick and LeDette were wonderful hosts who promptly assisted us the few times we needed something. My children and grandchildren spent much of the week swimming in the lake, riding the jet skis, or cruising Pend Oreille Lake in the pontoon boat. My son in laws used the boat in the early morning and evenings to fish for perch and bass. We spent one long day down at Silverwoods Theme Park, a short thirty minute drive, and the kids had a blast. It was a wonderful active week for all of us.
The house itself was large enough to sleep the fifteen of us comfortably. The kitchen is equipped everything needed to prepare meals and our hosts allowed us to use the additional refrigerator/freezer in the garage as needed. We spent most of the evenings in the house playing card games, board games, ping pong pool, or relaxing in the hot tub.
I am not sure we will be going back to Sandpoint in force. We have traditionally gone someplace different for our family vacations every summer. If we did return to Sandpoint we would certainty stay at Mick and LeDette’s again. They are good great hosts that provided us with wonderful lodging in a serene location with numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. We had a great time.

We stayed in this house in July 2018. We had a great time in Sand Point and it is a beautiful place to visit. Boating is awesome! Future renters need to be aware that this is not what I would call a "waterfront" home as while you can see the water from this house- you have to walk almost a block down the street to get to the dock and water access that goes with this house. The water access is not visible from the house-so don't plan to sit on the deck and watch your kids play in the water. This house is advertised as "perfect for up to 5 or 6 families", but it is actually more appropriate for 4 families as one of the bedrooms on the main floor is a laundry room with a set of bunk beds, and on the second floor whoever stays in the room with the arched window has to walk thru the room with the skylights to get to their bedroom. Its alittle uncomfortable walking thru a different families room to get to your own-but the upstairs would be a great place for one family with several children. Because of the water access and bedroom situation we were disappointed when we arrived at the home (partly due to my "assumptions" and partly due to what I would call false advertising) but Mic talked to the neighbors who were very nice and let us use their water access which is closer to the house. We ended up loving the boat dock and water access that actually comes with this house -but I would still recommend changing how this is advertised to say this isn't waterfront and clarify that renters have to walk a distance to the water access. the house comes with lots of beach towels, plates and silverware but the knives could use sharpened, newer pots and pans would be nice and there is a screen missing in a door. This is a perfect home for up to 4 families who don't mind walking alittle ways to get to the boat dock and water access, and is a great price for the amount of space you get.

We arrived at the rental house and was greeted by Mick (owner). He graciously allowed us to use his garage & garage refrigerator to store some of our personal items. Our group consisted of 12 adults and 4 children. The house was clean, bright, inviting and everyone had their own space with the numerous beds and bathrooms. Anytime we needed anything, Mick was a text/phone call away and he was very responsive. We rented Mick's pontoon and jet skies which gave us the flexibility to use them at our leisure. Easy access to Lake Pend Oreille and a great area for summer sports (fishing, boating, jet skiing, etc). Even on the 4h of July, you weren't competing for water space which is perfect for family fun. You won't be disappointed in renting this home and you can't beat the beautiful area. We would like to thank Mick for making our family vacation a great experience!

Our family enjoyed a week at this beautiful property.
We had plenty of room to spread out. Every family had their private bedroom space.
The pool table and ping pong was a hit with all ages. Available canoes were enjoyed.
A well equipped kitchen made our meal cooking a pleasure. The owner was available to address any house issues. Perfect place to get together.

Lots of space, lots of beds and easy location just outside Sandpoint. The owner was friendly, helped us out with whatever we needed. He even stopped by to meet us and show us some things about the property. We will be back.

We've used HomeAway numerous times & this is one of the best homes we've stayed in. The set up is perfect for multiple families. We spent 4 days there with 4 adults and 3 kids. The weather was rainy and windy so we couldn't spend much time outdoors but the home has a pool table, ping pong table, cards, board games, hot tub, covered outdoor sitting area, multiple tv's in different areas of the home, a cozy & warm fireplace so there was no need to worry about what was happening outside. Mick was always available and checked in with us several times to see if we needed anything. I highly suggest staying here, it is truly a gem!
