There are ample areas for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing all around. Bring your snow mobiles and other snow toys and take advantage of the endless opportunities. The Blackwolf Cabin has plenty of parking and our location is a far faster and easier drive to town for the fantastic restaurants and nightlife without braving the steep and winding road up and down Schweitzer Mountain. The county meticulously plows and maintains the roads to the house and we keep the driveway and our parking area plowed as well.
IN THE SUMMER

HOUSE DESCRIPTION
Blackwolf Cabin is located on a protected inlet with easy boat access to Lake Pend Oreille. The home boasts a chef’s kitchen with a six burner commercial gas range with granite countertops and a wrap around bar with seating for eight.
This four bedroom home has two bedrooms and one bathroom on the main level which also includes the kitchen, dining area, and family room/great room. The main level bathroom has granite countertops and a generous spa like shower. The top floor has a loft area with a daybed and trundle as well as the oversized master bedroom (with king sized bed and sofa sitting area) and an en suite bathroom. The master bathroom also has granite counter tops with a huge walk-in shower and a jetted soaking tub. The lower level has a fourth bedroom (with a queen sized bed and twin sized bunk beds) another bathroom with a huge walk-in shower, a mud room for ski/kayak storage, a poker table, and a Movie Theater room with a 100" screen! All bathrooms have been tastefully appointed with high end fixtures as well as tile, stone, and granite. The great room floor plan feels open and inviting and boasts high ceilings and large windows that take advantage of the view of the bay. Most of the home has hard wood flooring. There is also a large deck with plenty of seating for your group. For your added safety and security, there are also motion sensor lights and cameras on the front and/or side exterior of the home.
Just ten minutes to downtown Sandpoint, twenty-five minutes to Silverwood, and thirty minutes to Schweitzer (fifteen minutes to the Schweitzer shuttle parking lot) puts all of the area’s attractions within easy reach by car. Biking to Sandpoint’s shops and restaurants is a breeze too on the paved path across the long bridge. Even Spokane, Coeur D’Alene, and the Canadian Border are within an hour and twenty minutes from the property. Blackwolf Cabin is your ideal North Idaho getaway. A stay at this amazing property will recharge your soul.
**Note for Summer Stays: Each year, on September 18th OR the 3rd Sunday in September (whichever is later), the Army Corps of Engineers begins dropping the water level of Lake Pend Oreille until ultimately reducing it by a total of 10-12 feet. Around the 4th week in September ALL boat docks and boat lifts on the lake become inaccessible and unusable, as the water completely recedes back from the shoreline leaving just bare ground beneath the docks. The agreement with the Army Corps of Engineers states the lake level must be restored to full pool level each year no later than July 4th, however, the last 10+ years the lake water has been at full pool level around the 2nd or 3rd week in June.

This property has everything you could want for your vacation. The design of the house takes full advantage of the view. The spectacular sunsets over the water, hot tub was a big hit and so were the kayaks, canoe & pedal boat and, of course, the house was well stocked, organized and immaculate. They thought of everything including 2 sets of washer & dryers, lots of movies for the movie theater and even a second refrigerator.
Taking our 2 sons and their families who live in big cities to this part of the country was a challenge but this was a perfect location for a summer vacation. Amazing natural beauty - Glacier National Park, Kootnai Falls, Ross Creek Cedars, Schweitzer ski lift & hiking. Fishing off the private dock kept the teenagers busy and the shopping in Sandpoint was enjoyable for all. Sandpoint has really stepped up the caliber of restaurants - while we cooked in our first class kitchen at the house some, every Sandpoint restaurant we visited was a great food experience.
Our family said it was their best vacation ever.

Overall great location. The train noise at various hours of the night was reason for 4 star. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

Ok, so we may not be girls still, but after 42 years of doing vacations together, we feel like girls all over again.☺️ The house was everything as described. Movie room was GREAT. We would consider this house again. The owner responded right away to my text.

We rented this property, for 3 couples skiing at Schweitzer for the week of Feb. 10 - 17. The house had everything we needed for our stay. The added bonus was the movie room, where we had the choice of over 200 movies to watch. The Hot Tub was also used regularly after a day of skiing, which was appreciated. The train noise that other people had talke about in reviews was minimal. The trains run all day and night, however, is just a distant tumble that we could barely hear.

This is a lovely property in excellent condition, with wonderful features - the lake, canoe/kayaks, deck, barbeque. We watched the MLB playoffs in the big screen movie theater. A perfect property for our use - 12 adults from four siblings' families, attending family wedding. There was plenty of hot water for our purposes.
We were aware from reviews that the train line connecting Seattle/the pacific northwest to Chicago and the east is a few hundred yards away. Freight trains pass by hourly, day and night. This did not bother us, but those who are noise sensitive might bring earplugs or white noise for sleeping.

We had a wonderful time. The property was perfect for our family with kids to meet and spend time together. There was plenty to do for the kids and adults. We would definitely stay again!

House was as advertised and then some. Had a group of 8-10 at any one time, of all ages, and all were super happy about the whole experience. Dining areas were sweet, deck and location could not have been better. On top of all that, the Theatre Room was unbelievable. Definitely looking at dates for next year, thanks for the great show!

We were a group of 8 adult family members in town for a wedding. The property is clean and well-maintained. It is decorated nicely, the bathrooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of cookware, dishes, and glasses.
We did not have a lot of time to spend at the property, but some of the group enjoyed the hot tub, kayaking, and fishing from the dock (we brought our own poles).

Our group of 4 had to come into town for a weeks worth of work and this place was a great retreat after a hard day of work! The dock got used morning and night by those with poles! The theater room was great foe relaxing! Beds were super comfortable! Will for sure stay here again when work requires us to come back!

Loved the house. It was everything we hoped for and more. Loved the Movie room. Good place to relax and enjoy one of the many movies in the movie library. Also enjoyed the fire pit Outstanding view of lake from large porch.
Only downside was the lake water quality. It had a lot of “gunk” in it. Probably something that happens every mid to late July. But with our boat, it was easy to get out to the larger lake and clean water
Overall, very satisfied with our vacation house. (Owner was also quick to respond to any of my questions or requests.)

This property has everything you could want in a lake house getaway. There were 11 of us total. We went to celebrate our parents 50th wedding anniversary and they certainly felt celebrated!
Very comfortable, clean, spacious! We made memories for a lifetime!

Excelente home beyond my expectations the amenities in the house more than what we expected. The house and amenities just like they showed in the pictures. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and thanks for letting us stay in your place, we had a great time.

This was an excellent base camp for a ski trip with a bunch of us all gathered. Hot tub was great, and the house was very well laid out and comfortable.
Only cons: there is a train that goes by somewhat regularly and if you are a light sleeper you might hear it in the master bedroom. It's also not particularly secluded with other houses around. But neighbors were nowhere to be seen and spread was really great. Would highly recommend overall.

Our old guys ski group spinner wheel landed on Schweizer this year. We found this house on VRBO since it had 8 beds. The house has been nicely updated, and is well appointed.
Looking for something?
Every door, drawer, cabinet, closet and light switch is labeled.
We were there in winter and access to the mountain and downtown Sandpoint is excellent. We highly recommend Arlos restaurant. Very authentic Italian (Calabria region) thank you

This house was wonderful and perfect for our crowd. We go somewhere every year to welcome in the New Year with our kids and grandkids. This year it was hard to get the kids out of the incredible movie room. We did some downhill skiing, cross country skiing and of course some shopping! The kitchen was well stocked, the house was very clean and the hosts were very quick to respond with any questions or concerns. It’s also right on the lake if you go in the summer. It was frozen for us, but looks great for the summer! If you’re going that way, it’s a great house!!

Easy access, less than a mile off highway 95 about a mile south of the bridge over the lake to Sandpoint. On the river. Quiet. Beautiful. House is great. Quality throughout. Well equipped. Comfortable. We were there just a couple days after Christmas. A quick trip to ski Schweitzer. This is just about 10-minutes from the road at the base of the mountain, by the way. Beautiful in the snow. No doubt perfect for summers as well.

Was a beautiful house! Had pretty much everything we needed. We loved the theater room. There was 9 of us and plenty of space! The chef stove in the kitchen was so fun to use. Nice place to relax and enjoy the cabin life! The only thing I could say that was bad is all the lady bugs and one other type of bug. But that is life would definitely recommend this place!!

This is a fantastic home. It is in a quiet neighborhood, very close to Sandpoint. The house was very well equipped. The kitchen was stocked fully. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us

The house was really nice just as advertised. Upon arrival a few of us showered, the hot water only lasted 1-1/2 showers then it was just cold water.. I contacted the owner and they did nothing and claimed it was "user error" and to read "shower instructions" which said to turn the pressure way down to make the water last longer and that the 110 gallon tank worked fine.. I am a licensed contractor and head building inspector so I told them it needed to be serviced since it was obviously full of sediment from the lake water it draws from greatly reducing the amount of hot water storage.. they did nothing.. the entire weekend we either had cold showers from time to time or waited a long time for water to re heat sometimes till 2-3am... We did enjoy the property other than that though and the owners poor attitude and conversation. Now a couple weeks later these people are claiming someone soaked the master bed with URINE and trying to charge me $100.. it was a little bit of spray tan that rubbed off my brother's girlfriend.. not any urine!! Disgusting.. anyways now I'm in an argument with these people who really shouldn't be running a rental if this is what's acceptable to them.. I would suggest renting another property for the money for sure.. these people aren't worth the headache especially since I was just trying to treat my family to a nice weekend 🙄

The house is very easily accessible from the road and it is a very short ride to town and stores. We had multiple generations on this trip and the house had everything we needed for all ages.

We had a wonderful time. There is so much to do in the area. But the kids loved swimming, kayaking, and canoeing in the lake. Super home with all the amenities, even caught some fish.!

Amazing!
Wow! This was the perfect place for a mini family reunion to celebrate my son’s graduation! My elderly parents flew in from the East coast. I wanted everyone to be comfortable and enjoy each other and this place was wonderful.
We took full of advantage of the movie theater room each night. The kitchen was great and we cooked lots of delicious meals.
I am so thankful for the whole experience - my mom can be rather particular and she said that it was “idyllic “. We don’t know how we could ever top this vacation home. Thank you Kristine!

Very well-appointmented, terrific location, plenty of room, excellent instructions/labeling made it very easy to use. Hot tub was very clean and everything was well maintained. I highly recommend this home.

Sagle Stay
House was very clean, organized and exactly as advertised. Couldn't ask for a better overall experience with the hosts!!

Nice stay
Nice cabin, had everything we needed. Very icy driveway and walk, but it's that time of year. We weren't planning using the hot tub which fortunately worked out ok, as they came to clean it after we checked in and had to drain it. I think it was a lack of communication is all.
