About this cottage rental
Situated in a small, private, quaint complex, Glencree Cottage is a lovely, Non-Smoking townhouse with simple, pine furnishings. The kitchen has just been completely renovated with an induction cooktop, wall oven, and washer / dryer and other modern conveniences set near the seaside in County Wicklow, Ireland. About one and a quarter hours from Dublin Airport, this puts you far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to go into Dublin's City Center and explore. Only 20 min's from the DART Commuter rail line in Greystones.
Directly across the road from the townhouse is Blainroe Golf Club - an 18-hole golf course with spectacular views of the Irish Sea and coastline. There is access to a private, family beach located across the road near the golf course; it is a lovely spot tucked away in a secluded cove. Hiking, biking, and fishing are right at your door step.
Glencree Cottage is in an excellent location for sightseeing and day trips to Dublin City. Dublin is 50 minutes by car or you can go to the City via the DART (the train/nearest station in Greystones, Co. Wicklow) to avoid the hassle of parking and driving in Ireland's largest and busiest city. On your return to Glencree Cottage, you can enjoy all the comforts of home, including an open fireplace to wind down, and the peace of the Irish seaside. A variety of tourist destinations are a stones throw from Glencree such as: Glendalough, Powerscourt - Manor House and Gardens, Brittas Bay.
The 3000 B.C. druid ruins at Newgrange ,are a must see located in Co Meath 1 1/2 hrs from Wicklow town.
In less than one hour, you can go from the Wicklow Hills to the mountains surrounding Dublin; to the seaside with lovely villages, towns and beautiful scenery all tucked in between. We have maps and travel books at the townhouse for use during your stay. Additionally, several of our friends and family who live nearby would be happy to assist you with any questions or issues you may have during your stay at Glencree Cottage. More than a hotel room, the townhouse allows you to spread out a bit, cook your own meals, and enjoy the comforts of home after a day of sightseeing.

Titled adequate because that just about summarise everything about our stay. A lot smaller than it appears in photos. Only Dry electric heating. Is located about 5km from Wicklow no local facilities. No Wi-Fi and very limited TV coverage.

Family of 5, three young kids. We loved our stay here. Perfect location to explore Dublin and surrounding area. Private beach access. Tennis court and basketball court also on site. Ronan and the house had everything supplied. We wanted for nothing. Would highly recommend!

The Cottage is nice. There are two beds in one Room and a nice bathroom upstairs. There are beautiful strands and many places to walk. It is a very interesting area around the cottage. The landlord was friendly and answered quickly.

After initially not having a few necessities, the onsite caretaker came over and provided trash bin liners and additional instructions on the trash, recycling, etc. one thing you will want to keep in mind is that the bedroom and bathroom are in the second floor. This can pose problems if you have mobility issues, which we do not. The cottages are adjacent to a lovely beach and beautiful golf course. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Well stocked house.
We brought groceries but there was already lots of dry goods.

The property itself was beautiful. Had everything under the sun. The community where it was had so many nice places to walk. If the weather wouldn't have been drizzling.

Good place to discover Wicklow Mountains and east coast.
The train to Dublin is convenaient.
too bad that the coastline is confiscated by golf courses and private properties, unlike the west coast.
Ourv5 year old granddaughter is delighted with the stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Ronan’s cute apartment. The king bed was very comfortable and the skylight provided nice ventilation during the night. We were able to easily cook dinner in the well-stocked kitchen. Everything was clean and worked well. We would highly recommend!

The property is in such a lovely location overlooking a large pond with goldfish in and a bridge crossing it. The private beach is a short walk away along the side of a golf course. The beach is lovely and sandy and in a little cove. There is a large children’s play area and tennis courts.

The size was just right. We were very comfortable in the cottage. No problems or issues. The people in the community were very nice. The flower gardens are gorgeous. The cottage is perfectly away from Wicklow but still close enough to make Wicklow incredibly convenient. The Blainroe Golf Club course is spectacular. The Club House has good food, great drinks, and a very friendly staff. The beach there is such a joy, as are the area cliff walks, and other beaches.

Was a nice place, no Wi-Fi which was a bit of a issue but we made it work. Staircase is pretty but hard for one of our older group. Overall the place was great and the people were fantastic.

We found this home to have everything needed to give a base for enjoying the surrounding area. It was quiet and the bed was very comfortable.

We really enjoyed the stay - everything worked perfectly (once we got the remote for the tv) and the property manager was fantastic, even giving us places to go visit while we were in Ireland. Truly made the trip special.

Bathroom light burned out the first day and we had no hot water after the first day. When I got there, the washing machine was full of wet towels. Someone had tried to do a load that was too heavy. We could not use the fireplace because when we got there there was a note on it saying that birds were nesting in it. The house had cobwebs everywhere and the front entryway where the spiral staircase is has all of the cleaning products kind of piled up under the stairs. Despite this, the house is in a cute location and it was easy to get to. The bed sheets were clean and they smelled nice also the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything that we needed to make dinners and the house is conveniently located to an Aldi, LIDL, and a Tesco. Everything in this house is on weird timers so the heaters pop on at random times and they use an immersion water heater so you only have hot water at random times. However there was a note left in a book about how to override this feature which I did and we still did not have hot water for the duration of our trip. I did end up cutting our stay short two days but thankfully I had a free hotel room so I didn't complain to the property manager over these two days we didn't actually use. There is Wi-Fi and it does work downstairs just fine it. However, wifi does not work upstairs well which we already knew that it would not.

Charming cottage
Homey cottage in convenient location for those with car. Wicklow town close by. Golf across the road with views of the Irish Sea. Host had everything we could need/want in the property and responded promptly to questions. Was the perfect place for our first memories of Ireland.

Perfect short break at Ronans
We’ve just returned from a wonderful stay at Ronans. The cottage is cute and quirky, quite rustic, but comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and we had everything we needed. The main bed is very large and comfy, and the shower was hot and powerful. We visited the tiny residents beach across the road many times, and were very lucky to see dolphins and seals on a couple of occasions. We were very sad to leave, and wished we’d booked for longer!! Looking forward to booking this little hidden gem again very soon. Thank you Ronan

Idyllic Wicklow cottage
This wee cottage is such a hidden gem. We absolutely loved our stay here. It's well located, being no more than 30-40mins from everything we wanted to do in Wicklow and only 10mins from Wicklow town itself. The cottage is well equipped with a fully kitted out kitchen and is comfortable to relax in the evening with a great shower. We couldn't have asked for better. Thanks to Ronan for opening this wonderful wee cottage to us and for being so accommodating with our last minute request for late check-out, We will 100% be back to stay here again.

Comfortable and quiet
The “information folder” had either outdated info ( the tv) or missing info(the washer). The owner communicated well via text but he was far far away. The caretaker never responded to our text and was not at home. Still the bed is very comfortable, and though key utensils are missing from the kitchen, we were comfortable enough, with a full bath and king bed. The multi fuel stove is missing a glass so burned very inefficiently.

Nice little cottage
We stayed in September for several weeks. The cottage is tidy and very lovely with a nice little terrace overlooking a tiny little lake. We were travelling with a toddler who loved the nearby amenities, including a little park nearby. The cottage was well located for hikes and exploring particularly Wicklow mountains and Dublin although somewhat isolated. The lack of wifi is noted in the listing but the cell signal in this area is terrible (you can get one bar of 2G if you use your phone in the bathroom only!). Expect to be completely off the grid for your stay.

A great place.
A great place to stay despite no wi-fi. We found the bed a little soft compared to what we are used to. Struggled to get hold of the owner by phone, but not sure if it was my phone or the wrong dialling code. The kitchen is very well kitted out.

Absolutely loved this little gem of a place. The hidden beach a small walk away was just a dream.
Such an easy process to rent this property and Ronan and Emma are so lovely to communicate with. Nothing was a bother to them. Emma is very helpful being 2 doors down and everyone around the area is do friendly and helpful. Will 100% be back again we absolutely loved it.
