I thought Culzean House was good. The availability of a sauna and ht tub added to the value. Would have liked all of the rooms to have had en suite.

Beautiful location, short walk to beach. Kitchen well equipped for catering on a large scale. The Lounge and dinning room have enough seating for large groups but couldn’t get electric fire in lounge to work. Bedrooms adequate, couldn’t use bunk room as curtain rail was broken and blind wouldn’t fully shut. Twin room has a shower but no toilet, this is in the entrance lobby. Mattresses could all do with replacing. Large garden at the front of the property but not secure, couldn’t let dogs off their lead as gate at bottom of lawn broken and hedge on one side that they could easily have got through onto road. Pub nearby highly recommended. The whole house is looking “shabby” In my opinion in the advertisement regarding house the word luxury should be omitted. The house does not “radiate luxury, elegance and charm” or “boast homely comforts to create a stylish and luxury holiday” and without doubt could do with an upgrade.

The property was very nice for staying a few days with friends. There were some small issues with locks and cabinets breaking but overall not too bad. We did however have to vacate one of the rooms due to a problem with bees, however the owners were very lovely, easy to contact, and did everything they could to help us with this. Location is great for a short stay, with buses available close by, and a beach within walking distance, however any longer than a week and you may run out of things to do.

Family time away
13 of us went to Culzean house for a family birthday celebration. We had a lovely time, the house was very well equipped with everything that we needed. The weather was not great but that didn't stop us from enjoying the hot tub or the sauna every day. The house was a bit further out from shops than we realised so be prepared with all of your shopping in advance so that you don't have to do the 15/16 Mile drive into the town. We had no phone signal at all and with 6 youngsters was a bit frustrating for them although the up side to that was that we had brilliant family time, just being together and playing board games or reading. There were local activities nearby, like quad biking, archery and clay pigeon shooting, however because of the weather, we did not venture out to these activities. The area is stunning with amazing walks and wildlife, a lot of our party enjoy walking and despite the weather were still able to enjoy the local walks together. We had a great time together and would recommend Culzean House to anyone who wants to enjoy some family/ friends time together. The family who own the house were lovely and despite a bereavement, still came to check on the hot tub every day. A brilliant family holiday xx

Long Weekend with our Family for our 40th Wedding Anniversary
Our family had a lovely weekend at Culzean House.
This started with a warm welcome and introduction to the facilities from the owner.
The property is beautiful, lots of room for us all. It was so clean and well equipped, a real home from home.
We all enjoyed the luxury of the hot tub and the sauna.
I would highly recommend Culzean House for a real getaway from it all.

A lovely place
We had a lovely two week stay, the owner was very attentive and even bought us cream cakes! The house is in a lovely setting and the garden is lovely and big. The hot tub was lovely after a day out. The house was very clean and felt very homely.
Sadly some of the beds were hard and lumpy and could do with replacing and the downstairs shower in the twin room is very tiny and difficult to get in for someone slightly oversized. The house could do with additional living space, only one lounge area and if the house was at full capacity there wouldn’t be enough space for everyone. Just needs a little extra tlc required.
Having said all that, I would recommend the house to others as the area is stunning and the owner very generous and attentive to our needs.

Rental of property was easy. Owner was very friendly and showed us around and ensured we knew how to work everything and knew where everything was.
He was also very kind and left us some cakes as part of my birthday celebration. Overall lovely place to stay and the facilities are good with the hot tub and sauna.

Great family holiday in gorgeous place surrounded by beautiful scenery
We had a fabulous break at culzean house, the house has everything you need amd hottub and sauna was perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Our family included 7 children from 2 years old to 14 years and they all loved the large garden space. We enjoyed exploring the outdoors, enjoying lovely nearby walks and visiting the lochs. Norman the owner was A gentleman so welcoming and visited us often to check all was well even bringing the children sweets. Due to COVID the restaurants nearby were still closed or had restrictions therefore we were unable to use them however we were able to get a delivery from takeaway in Sandbank through just eat which we would recommend. Definitely hope to return in future.
Only recommendation would be better WiFi

Wonderful half term family holiday
Such a fabulous house in a beautiful location. The house is well equipped with plenty of space for us to relax inside and for the children and the dog to play outside. The hot tub is amazing with a backdrop of stunning scenery. A great place to stay and explore the surrounding areas. We were welcomed at the property and treated very well. Couldn't ask for more.

Great stay with friends
We were a group of 14 ladies who stayed for a long weekend in May. We loved the house - especially the hot tub and sauna in the garden area. We also had a night out in Dunoon itself which was great fun. I would recommend this house for big groups.
