Very nice location, and it was safe.
Nice shark too :)
Nothing. It was great.

We liked the location and the house was clean and well equipped. We enjoyed the fact that the house is roomy. The owner was extremely helpful when we contacted him.
There was no warning that the drive was extremely narrow and only a small car could negotiate the parking area. There’s no indication that it is a one way street.

Loved the unique feature a shark nosediving into the roof. Good sized rooms to meet our family group needs. Headington is a great area for cafes, provisions and easy to get into the city centre.

The kids loved the shark house! such fun to stay here. Although it’s not right in Oxford city centre the bus connections from Headington are excellent. Spacious, 3 out of 4 bedrooms en suite. Hosts very helpful, e.g. helped us sort out parking. When plans changed and we added an extra guest the hosts were flexible. Supermarket right round the corner. Recommend.
The next project for the hosts could be to develop the garden. Get a knife sharpener - a great addition to any rental property!

A quirky place to stay
There were only 7 of us but the kitchen was quite small and we only just managed to fit around the small table for breakfast.
The back garden was an absolute jungle so impossible to make any use of it which was very disappointing. The conservatory was so overgrown with plants that we couldn’t really use that either.
The bathrooms were tired and a bit grimy.
The towels were small.
For the price we expected it to be more luxurious.

Excellent host, and gorgeous house. The atmosphere was very cosy, the facilities were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We would definitely recommend staying at the Shark House and we are hoping to be back in the future!

Great location, on a main bus route into Oxford city centre. The space was really sociable, we could all easily sit together in the front room or hang out in the kitchen, which was lovely. Good bed to bathroom ratio (even for 12 of us getting ready for a night out!). Ben was really prompt and helpful with questions, and even popped in to help us with something on a Friday evening with 10 minutes' notice (thanks, Ben!)
Nothing!

Comfortable and warm with good sized rooms and bathrooms. Easy communication with helpful proprietor. Very suitable for our party of 10. All members of the three families enjoyed their time with us
I think it would be worth while clearing out the wardrobes of clutter especially in the bedroom at the right of the stairs.

Location was amazing for buses, local shops and Oxford. Parking was easier than we thought. Sitting room was large and airy and became the main room. Beds were really comfortable and plenty of room in the bedrooms.
Just the finishing touches could have been polished off - out bathroom could have done with a few screws being tightened, light bulbs replaced.

Lots of room for a group of friends to stay together, and a great location too. Charming.
The house needs some TLC, and could definitely do with a very deep clean (or maybe a change in the current cleaners). We found a used tampon applicator in one of the bedrooms, and lots of cobwebs.

The Shark House is a quirky building with a fascinating history which is documented in a book available in the house. The rooms are surprisingly spacious for a modest terrace house. The kitchen has a good range of equipment and there is a separate utility room. Our family members reported comfortable beds in all four bedrooms.
A private parking space is available behind the house but you need to be proficient at driving through narrow spaces and unless you have a Smart car you need to perform a fifteen point turn to avoid having to back out. So best to leave your car parked for the duration of your stay and use the regular bus service (No 8) into Oxford. Despite being next to a pub, the house is quiet at night although the England v Germany EuFA football tournament did generate some vocal excitement earlier in the evening.
Some of the windows could have done with a bit more cleaning and the garden is rather sad and neglected, but Ben (the host) has promised to address both these issues.
