Very unique cottage, kids loved it
No toilet at the bedroom level, but I'm 50 and need the toilet in the middle of the night

Location is outstanding for the Old Town. House is a beautiful old fishing cottage. View is amazing. Interior of the house is nice and simply furnished. Shower in bathroom is decent. Whole place felt cozy. Would definitely stay here again.
Cat poo in garden. Seems this is an ongoing problem. There was also a bit of a cat litter aroma in kitchen when we first arrived. Not sure what the source was, but we smelt it before realising there was also cat poo in garden behind gate (note we did not use the garden or rear door at all because of this.)

Loved the views and location.
Lack of parking and mattress in second bedroom. Would've been nice to have had a dining table to sit at upstairs for games.

Not the letters fault but neighbourly cat left a couple of presents in the garden which my lad stood in

Great location, clean & tidy with everything you need.
It's not great for more than 2 adults as the spare bed isn't very comfy.

Loved the beautiful decor - every single inch of space used perfectly. So homely with every wish catered for. Absolutely loved every moment of it.
The spiral staircases could be an issue for some.BUT WE WERE ADVISED OF THIS IN ADVANCE. Very considerate of the host to do so. Nothing I didn't like - perfect.

Lovely cottage, great location in the old town. Quirky, interesting, kids loved the bunk beds. Loved the area with plenty to do and so many choices of places to eat and drink.

Location great right in Old Town everything a few steps down the hill. Townhouse very nice tidy, comfy with beautiful views.
No parking when u have alot of bags. (Because of kids) beds a bit lumpy, But comfortable enough to sleep.

Clean and tidy flat with all mod cons. Nice views from the bedroom windows.
Chris helped us when we needed help on how to operate the oven.
The outside patio could not be used because of smelly bin bags left just outside; this attracted a lot of green flies.
The oven, which should have been straightforward to use, had been adjusted and it was impossible to turn it on. The housekeeper had a condescending attitude when we contacted her for help and implied it was due to the guest's stupidity.
Thankfully, the owner stepped in and helped us.

it was nice to have somewhere to relax and garden to sit. quite spacious for a short break.
cleanliness was okay but some areas hadn’t been cleaned as much. also a trip hazard with rug in living area as it was starting to curl and was situated near steps leading to kitchen.

We very much liked the location of the property, in the heart of the old town, close to excellent restaurants, George Street, and the modern art gallery.
The mattress in the master bedroom was very soft, and we had to sleep separately. There wasn’t a decent frying pan. We knew there were spiral staircases, but hadn’t expected them to be so hard to use. We were unable to close the key safe when we left, and a neighbour told us that others had had the same problem. We were puzzled by the placing of the television in the stairwell and disappointed to find the bathroom so far from the bedrooms.

Great location for the old town, pubs, restaurants, walks and bus connections.
Well equipped and comfortable house, everything you need and a lovely home from home
Personally I loved it, but if you don't like steps on your way home or spiral staircases then it might not be for you, but the cottage description and reviews made it clear so absolutely not a problem for us at all.....in fact we used it to justify all our trips out to cafes and restaurants!!!

Lovely cottage, less than 5 mins from the beach and fishing huts. Hosts provided all the information we needed in good time. Everything was clean and tidy. The perfect location for a family weekend away.

The location was perfect, loved the quirkiness of the property and the facilities.
Although there were instructions for the shower I did struggle to get the correct temperature. My personal preference is a hard pillow and the pillows were very soft.

There was nothing that we did not like.

Location of this place is brilliant. You get great views and it's so close to the seafront, shops, theatre and cliff walk.
We found it easily enough, although the streets are very narrow - to be expected being on the cliffside. It's lovely to have a whole house to be in. You could definitely stay here for a long time.
We walked along the seafront for miles and there are so many places to choose from to eat/drink.
The roads around the cottage have a fascinating array of buildings and alleyways - well worth having a walk around the streets nearby.
Be aware that there are two spiral staircases. The one up to the bedrooms is wider than the one down to the kitchen/bathroom. Both okay if taken slowly (especially if needing the toilet in the night - that's a lot of steps to negotiate when half asleep!).
There is no parking near the place. You *can* leave the car there overnight, but you'll probably struggle to find a space. The nearest car park is council-run and is expensive (allow for up to £10 a day) - and, of course, it's at bottom of the cliff, which you then have to climb back up.
The cost of the place is also a little on the expensive side compared with other self-catering places we have stayed at in the area.

Excellent location and great facilities. Bed was very comfy and there were plenty of cooking utensils etc. in the kitchen.
It wouldn't be good for anyone with mobility issues due to the narrow spiral staircases.

Great location, great house. You need to be relatively fit, the stairs, steps and hills will help burn off any over indulgence. Fab views from the rooms.
Stairs were a little hard work but we just needed to make sure our children concentrated and didn't rush. We met the cleaners coming in to do a deep clean, which it could do with. Though this will only make the house even nicer.

We liked the location, lounge area. We felt the price was fair and very reasonable.
We felt the cleanliness of the cottage to be poor. The bathroom floor was dirty around the edge of the flooring, the bin was extremely dirty on top.
The lounge window sill had coffee stains on.
The bedrooms appeared a little better. The kitchen floor was very dirty, especially around the spare chairs, dirt on the kitchen cupboards, even though we didnt use the oven it was dirty.
6.0 / 10.0
Lovely interior design, with some nice touches.
Roomy lounge.
Close to beach and town / attractions.
The lack of cleanliness.
Throughout the property we continually discovered more and more grime.
Dirt and food residue in drawers, on handles, appliances and surfaces.
Oven racks dirty.
Only one dishwasher tablet.
Almost unusable ironing board with cover totally unattached.
Chipped glasses and crockery, possible danger.
Yellowing grout on bathroom tiles, easy fix?
Gas boiler due a service in 2020, not done according to sticker.
Smoke alarm expired June 2011, illegal?
Apparent blood stain on lamp shade in main bedroom?
Extractor fan blocked with dust.
Towels supplied were old and faded.
Sofas very dull with dirt and stains. Condition OK, so another easy fix.
Outside decking very tired and likely never been cared for.
Having read a review from another stay in May 2021, the poor condition and lack of cleanliness were pointed out, with a recommendation for a deep clean. Silll not been done!

A very quirky cottage- loved it. Very very well equipped everything you want is there. Cleanliness was exceptional
Parking is difficult but we did find some free parking if you don’t mind a short walk.

Great atmosphere
8.0 / 10.0
Lovely airy cottage, comfortable beds, great location, very nice decor.
Would stay again.
The clean should have been a DEEP clean (it wasn't) dusty stairs, dirty tins in the oven , you need some scissors
and tell us that we need the pan handle for the pans (never seen pans without handles) finally found it , but a bit late.
This did not spoil our stay though.
