Location, quirkiness , privacy, free marking after six o clock
Toilet downstairs and just off the main lounge was a bit of a pain, but everything that's good makes up for it, overall a great property in an absolutely laaaaaaavly location.

Location was good.
Poor cleanliness, a lot of cobwebs, dust. dirty cupboards.Only 4 towels & no tea towels. No welcome pack. Out of date food in cupboards. Very few cups, glasses which were not clean. Some lights not working. Stairs unsafe. Chairs wobbly Electrics unsafe cooker switch above sink. Cooker was otherside of kitchen. Upstairs: blinds on landing windows broken . Blind in Small bedroom broken . Large bedroom door almost opens onto stairs which is unsafe. Mould on window frames and above shower. Shower was not working properly. Food left in fridge which was switched off. No batteries in heating system control. We were told these would be left for us which didn’t happen. No fire extinguishers.
Outside property was full of leaves and bits of trees. No certificate from tourism or can anyone rent out property.
Property has fallen far below any safety standards, electrics, issues where stairs are placed, cleanliness, lack of fire appliances. How it can be rented out is disgraceful.

it was set back from the road in a quiet location, whilst still being in the centre of Lincoln. it was warm and cosy. An old property, but modern and quirky
l had difficulty with the locks and the front door was very stiff.

Do not expect luxury here. The mattresses and pillows need replacing as very uncomfortable.
Stairs are dangerous especially at night as seen in the photo. No handrail to go down from first floor. Toilet is downstairs through the living room so keep the lights on at night.
Broken furniture.
No iron or ironing board.
Washing machine provided but we did not use as there was nowhere to dry clothes as the clothes line outside has been overgrown with plants.
We tripped several times on the tiles in the kitchen area as it was hard to see the small steps.
No idea if cooker worked as we ate out. There is cutlery and crockery but none of it matched.
Fridge provided but no freezer.
Cobwebs on the light fittings in the kitchen and living room.
Shower cubicle which is in a small room off the kitchen was quite small and the drain was very slow to empty.
House is situated down a small alleyway behind resident's houses and adjacent to their gardens. The residents dogs roam around so not good if you are not a dog lover.
We were even asked to strip the beds before we left!!
Only benefit was the location in uphill Lincoln with the Cathedral and castle.

Location and the house was very particular and special
Bins were full.
4.5
The property was well located, close to key sites in Lincoln very accessible to cafes and restaurants, but with all the necessary facilities to make self catering convenient and pleasant. Good wifi which is now essential.

Comfy beds and central to the old town
I was left waiting outside in the rain for 15 mins before someone met me with the key, even though I had arranged an agreed check in time. The shower was very temperamental, running boiling one second (with no power) to freezing cold the next (someone had similar issues a couple of weeks earlier going by the guest book reviews but it hasn’t been fixed). Had a very angry, aggressive rude neighbour banging on my door one night accusing me of not shutting a gate properly. The cottage is in miniature form (like a hobbits house), I couldn’t even stand up straight in the living room let alone walk through the doorways, I smashed my head on many occasions (once badly). I’m 6ft 3, but that’s a foot higher than the door arches. There’s a damp problem in the kitchen, paint was peeling off the wall and falling on the floor day by day, it’s obviously just painted over regularly. Beds were comfy but it was very noisy when it rained on the window, it was like being in a tent. Bathroom and toilet are both separate and both downstairs which is a small inconvenience. Tv wasn’t working on arrival, I eventually managed to fix it. Having paid £1050 for three nights, I was appalled by the cottage. £200 would have been an acceptable price if the problems stated above were fixed. Having stayed in many places, this is the first review I’ve ever left because I was so disappointed!!!!!
