About this house rental
Situated on 2.2 landscaped acres with 200' of oceanfront on Mussel Ridge Channel in mid- coast Maine, this updated one-time B&B easily accommodates 4 families with a bunch of kids. Mid-coast is a perfect jumping off point for day trips to Acadia, Portland and even Moosehead Lake. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs, one with en suite bath, the other with bath across the hall. This bath also serves as the downstairs bathroom. Downstairs, the recently renovated kitchen opens into a large (approx. 22'x26') sunny dining & great room that has a 32" smart TV. Internet is also available. The kitchen is fully equipped including lobster and corn cookers. The large deck off the great room comfortably seats 14 for meals and includes a wing shade. The photos were taken before the spring bloom and before the 'wing' had been put up over the deck. The wing provides a modicum of shade as it can get quite toasty out there.
Upstairs has a suite with a large sitting room that includes 2 double bed futons and two twin beds. This area includes a full bath with a large walk-in shower, and a small kitchen. There is also a room with a queen bed (the only bedroom without an ocean view) and a room with 2 twin beds. Both rooms are share a large bathroom that also contains full laundry facilities.
There's even a croquet set so you can play a game at sunset and enjoy your Aperol spritz. The house also has many games and puzzles to be enjoyed in case of inclement weather.
Kayakers will love the short carry to the water. And if you just want to sit outside and watch the changing colors of the water, there's no better spot than this. Heron sit on the rocks early in the morning and the lobster boats hum as they pick up their traps in the channel. Walk the rocky beach and you'll find interesting shells and stones among the mussel shells that have been dropped by the seagulls.
Dogs are permitted and I know they'll have the time of their lives and sleep like babies with all the swimming and running they will do while visiting. I ask that they stay off the furniture (right!) and more important, that you patrol the area and pick up after them.
I'm sure that this property will fulfill all of your mid-coast Maine vacation needs and that you, like all of my friends and family members, will come to love staying at this property.

Our disappointment was only that the home was very dirty. The cleaning people had been there, however I’m not sure exactly what their duties were supposed to be. Clearly, inadequately completed.

We had a wonderful time at this gorgeous property on the coast! So much room for everyone to spread out and enjoy. Perfect house for extended family groups. Karen was a delight to work with. We will be back!

The house handles our group of 11 people well. The location was close enough to town to make errands easy but far enough away to enjoy privacy. Being right on the water was a priority for us and this house met the goal well. The property is well kept and working with Karen was very helpful.

Awesome family vacation
We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for a group of 9, the view was spectacular, the kitchen was fully equipped. We went kayaking, walking, enjoyed the porch. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do including the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Bar Harbor. We didn't;t want to leave.

Great summer vacation
We enjoyed everything about the home! It is perfectly situated, with fabulous views from almost every window in the house. We spent most of our time on the deck! The house is well equipped, bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone! We easily kayaked from the beach. Loved the short drive to Rockland, Tenant’s Harbor and Port Clyde. Karen was great to work with! Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous Time
We had a wonderful family week with 10 adults and our grandchildren . Everyone enjoyed their own bedroom, we had plenty of bathrooms too. The kitchen had everything we needed even a big lobster pot for our last meal on Friday. Karen was quick to answer our questions and helpful with anything we asked for. The location was great. We collected shells, pretty rocks and sea glass. Kayaking was fun too. Thanks for the use of your home.

wonderful summer escape
This is by the best experienced we have in Maine. The house condition is perfect and it looks even better than the posted pictures on the website. Karen the manager made every process easy for us.
I would highly recommend this to anyone!

The most beautiful house with panoramic water views!
We had the most AMAZING two weeks staying in this beautiful house with sprawling green grounds, gorgeous panoramic views, of the water, and the beach and large sunbathing rocks were right at our finger tips. There was so much to do- kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, fishing and canoeing. It was my sister and my self plus kids and parents. Everyone was very happy and found fun things to do with out having to leave the house. There is a cute Country store, Keags, nearby and also Jess’s seafood for fresh lobster etc. very well located house. The owner was great at getting back to us and the house is very well stocked. We will be back for sure! Thanks for such an amazing stay!

Family vacation
We got this house on short notice due to COVID. We had to cancel our original reservation and pick a different state. Karen was so accommodating with ALL of my questions! Check in was a breeze and the view was amazing. Nice jumping off spot for day trips and very relaxing to just stay at the house as well. About the only downside was the sand and the wifi. Nothing you can do about that sand. It's hard to keep sand out of a house when it is the coast of Maine! The wifi was slow, but we expected that with 8 people in our party. Would stay here again!

Maine Wedding
House was beautiful and so large. The views were amazing. When you walk into the kitchen/great room and see the water and the sun it takes your breath away. It was delightful to play old board games and see pictures from the loving home as it was years ago. Hope to come back next year for another family wedding.

A wonderful place for a family vacation. Easily accommodated the six of us - Me, my husband, and four adult children, with our dogs. Great access to the water, whether you like a beach or boulders. The view is fantastic! We rented kayaks for the week, and enjoyed the beautiful coast line. Early morning fog generally burned off by late morning and kept things from heating up too much. The house is beautifully maintained, and well equipped. Plenty of room to spread out, and great spaces to gather. We enjoyed both the deck and the yard. Just sitting by the sea, reading, eating, talking, was so relaxing. My husband is in a wheelchair, and we brought a 6" folding metal ramp with us, which worked great at the front door. He and I used one of the downstairs bedrooms, which worked well. The bathrooms are not too accessible, although we were able to get his smaller travel chair into one of the ground floor ones. If you are using a wheelchair and need to get into the bathroom, you might want to request measurements. Overall, we could not have asked for a better set-up that accommodated all our needs. The area is lovely, with a 10-15 minute drive to Rockland, and then another 15 minutes or so to Camden. Lots of places close by to get lobster. We would definitely return here, if the occasion arises.

My Dream Vacation Was Reality!
We had a wonderful stay! This is a clean, big, spacious house with lots of living areas, and a stunning view of the ocean. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, which gave us this feeling of serenity and peace. It has a kitchen with all necessities and the best part was the table on the deck where we could eat and see the beautiful scenic surroundings. Even though the first day was quite foggy, it was still very nice. The tide was wonderful to watch as the ocean lowered and raised. There are various interesting shells to be found among the rocks. The lawn has 3 temperatures... First is the sun that's warming and tanning us. Next is the shade, the trees that offer a delicious breeze. Then when you go deeper under the large trees, the weather is quite cool. (And this is all facing the ocean!)
This was truly a vacation! We recommend this to everyone!
Thank you, Karen, for making our dream vacation a reality!
