Heel handig. Ligging is prima in Leiden. Je kunt gemakkelijk het centrum belopen. Een AH is vlakbij, voor het geval je wat boodschappen wil doen.
De prijs is prima voor het gebodene.
Wát een fijn hotel is Huys van Leyden. Tot een volgende keer.

Lovely apartement, staff were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a short stay in Leiden

Visually the room and the hotel itself were a marvel. Chandeliers, paintings, wooden floors, you could practically feel the history. The staff was very nice and helpful and we had a lovely view of the canal.
The fact that it's a historical building has its disadvantages in the form of very steep stairs, with which we got acquainted intimately, as our room was on the top floor.

We enjoyed a very warm welcome with a beverage offered by the hotel. The receptionist was very welcoming and professional! The hotel itself is ideally located, it is absolutely beautiful and the room was superbe! We had a great stay here!
4.5
The room was small but beautiful and elegant, situated right on a canal. We walked everywhere.
It would be nice to see the rooftop patio fixed up for sitting outside.

Nice boutique hotel in the centre of Leiden, in walking distance of public transport and the city centre. Kind, professional stuff and excellent breakfast!

The interior of the hotel is really beautiful and the rooms are very charming!

Very comfortable bed
It's a pity that a lot of effort has been made to make the room lovely, but the bathroom is tiny and cramped, with a cheap fitout that doesn't go with the opulence of the room

Reception and restaurant spaces were beautiful. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was very good.
Our room was very small and the bathroom was accessed via a steep narrow staircase.
1.0
Nice breakfast. Sweet and helpful staff.
Our room at the Huys van Leyden was not only difficult to access, it was a fire trap. We were expected to climb two very steep, winding stairs (almost like ladders) with our luggage to the tippy top of the building where the view out one of the windows was a closeup of pipes on top of a roof. No way out in the event of a fire. If only for safety purposes, the owners should consider the well-being of their guests, not the extra money they might make. They should not expect guests to stay in such a dangerous location.
3.0
Complimentary drink on arrival. Fridge & coffee machine in bedroom.
V steep narrow steps from bathroom to bedroom.
A hazard
Although there was a rooftop outside seating area, it was not well maintained or inviting.

lovely traditional boutique style hotel with lots of character and very friendly, efficient staff. Excellent breakfast menu.
We stayed in what I could only call an attic room and the walk up the stairs (2 flights) was like climbing ladders and so narrow it was difficult to then also carry luggage. the room itself was a good size but the bed not particularly comfy and seemed to slope into the middle. The corner of the room where the safe was positioned was so dark you had to use a torch to work out how to use the safe. The room itself had no mirror so had to wait on the bathroom being free in order to get ready.

Our room was fabulous overlooking the canal - perfect!

This hotel is in a beautifully restored canal-side building. The decor is really lovely and the furnishing is tasteful. Our room had a view of the canal and was comfortable and well appointed.
On receiving our room key, we discovered that access to our first floor room was via a very narrow spiral staircase, with treads which were extremely small. We are both in our 80’s and needed to hold on to the handrails to negotiate these stairs, not easy when you are carrying your bags. There was no offer of assistance with our luggage when we booked in. The nature of this staircase prompted me to look for fire escape route signs on the corridor walls but these seem to be absent. A chart on our bedroom wall, however, showed the route as down the same narrow staircase that we had just ascended!
On returning to our room after our first day in the area, we were dismayed to find that it had not been serviced. When I queried this, the reply was that this was to save the planet. Cut costs more likely! If we were happy to have a holiday where we made our own bed, tidied our room and generally cleaned up we would have booked an Airbnb, not a boutique hotel.
Breakfasts were fine with a choice of continental or cooked. Strangely, hot food and coffee were served at your table but not tea. This was a DIY exercise where you were faced with a collection of teapots, various loose-leaf teas, a strainer/infuser and a jug of hot water. It was entertaining watching guests struggle to manage this process. Not the service one would expect from a highly-rated hotel.

very elegant hotel. excellent customer service!!
location is great only 5 minutes from city center.
4.5
Nice and clean apartment, quiet canal-side location, walking distance from Leiden city center. Staff are helpful and polite, car parking available.
All good, since the apartment we stayed in is located in a nicely renovated historic building, there is no elevator, just a rather steep staircase. Not a problem for us at all, and I would expect the staff to be able to help in case guests need assistance.

Great location and very tastefully decorated. Everything was very clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly, they also recommended a great restaurant in town. Breakfast at the hotel was very good as well.
4.5
Very friendly and professional staff. At arrival we were served Coffee while reception was preparing our check in. Staff offered assistance with luggage which was great since stairs are narrow. Breakfast excellent and prepared á la carte. Atmosphere is relaxed. Comfortable beds and spacious room. Location in Leiden is excellent. We really enjoyed or stay.

Rooms are simply beautiful pieces of art, equipped and decorated with love to the tiniest detail.
Special thanks to the kindest host for the warm welcome and the useful tips ❤️
2.5
Decor and cleanliness.
Rooms were not cleaned or beds made during the stay. Reception were barely available and didn’t want to hang around to check anyone in (big festival weekend, felt they wanted to join the fun). Breakfast arrangement weren’t clear

The room was very small without a window.
