A GEM ON THE ISLAND

Breakfast was always amazing with an excellent choice. Dinner and the Bar were also excellent, so much so, apart from one meal outside of the hotel we eat every day in the Welbeck Hotel. This is a first for me as "hotel" food normally is not up to standard.

Great place to stay in Douglas

The food was excellent. 10 out of 10. Staff friendly and nothing too much trouble. The room was large, clean, and warm. Dog friendly rooms. The location was perfect for our trip, just off the promenade. Will definitely be staying there again and would recommend it.

Great stay at a well located hotel with wonderful staff

We stayed here for the TT 2024, we’d booked a small double and our room was lovely and spacious, really clean and facilities were good. The bed was super comfy as well! We arrived early as our flight got us in before 9am and headed to the hotel where they were happy to hold our bags for us and accommodate us for breakfast which was lovely. Every staff member we spoke to and dealt with was lovely and really helpful. The evening before we left we were really struggling to get through to a taxi company, we asked for some help and within 10 minutes a taxi had been booked for us. This really helped ease the stress as we left. We can’t wait to stay again in the future!

Beautiful family-run hotel with great personality in a great location

A super place to stay in Douglas! The breakfast was excellent and served with great care and attention to detail. All the staff I encountered were most friendly and eager to help. The room was lovely, and the location is excellent - close to the sea front and walking distance to every place I needed to visit.

Although my room had only an indirect sea view, I think this was a good thing as there were no unpleasant odours from the sea at low tide.

Ok, but probably wouldn`t stay again.

Nice enough hotel. Easy parking in the street. Location good, 15 minute walk to town centre, several restaurants nearby. Breakfast was good, didn`t have dinner.

Had some noise problem from the room above, but I guess it is just bad luck. A little dated / tired in places.

Easy location to visit the attractions

One street back from the esplanade and easy to walk to the main area of Douglas. There is the local bus near too which goes all over the Island.

had a wonderful stay. close to get the ferry

hotel very clean and tidy. bed really comfortable. teas and coffee available in the room. only stayed 1 night. as was getting the ferry. in a close location to all the amenities

Superb

Really liked staying here. The gentleman (sorry, I didn't catch his name) on reception was very friendly, the room very comfortable and spacious, the shower powerful and the wifi fast. Nice to have a small fridge in the room! The price was good too. Would recommend!

The pillows were quite hard and the elevator was a squeeze to get 2 people and 2 small backpacks inside, but these were minor issues.

Great hotel, good location, great staff.

Great location - short 2 minute walk to the seafront and not far into Douglas main area. Neat rooms, attentive polite staff, good food and well stocked bar. Ideal for Douglas Ferry ⛴️.

You need to find your own parking in the nearby streets, but we did every time, close enough so wasn’t a big hassle / I understand Douglas is the same all over really - so it’s not a massive negative and no way the fault of the Hotel….. more a comment only.

Superb

Great location, just off the main promenade, and a few mins walk up the hill from the bus stop. Great communication from hotel about room type and early checkin. Gave us a spacious corner room with view down to the prom and the sea, with sofa to relax after a busy day. Lovely sunny room. Manx breakfast freshly cooked plus help yourself cereals, fruit, yoghurt, juice. Traditional hotel and friendly staff. Would stay here again 😊

Very nice location and comfortable stay

Great location easy walking distance to Douglas and the TT main grandstand (but prepare for a very steep hill), kitchen in the room had everything we needed and there was plenty of space in the room

Our tv didn’t have a remote but staff did try to help sort another one but in the end it had to be controlled by one button on the bottom and our toilet flush was unreliable but overall these were small things

Lovely Hotel just up the hill from the promenade. Very helpful staff and very clean. Good prices drinks and lovely evening meals. Lots of local information is available.

The description said that rooms have a mini-bar, but there isn't one it's just a small fridge in the room.

We enjoyed exploring Douglas with this lovely place to return to each day.

We arrived at the Wellbeck around 9am, exhausted having spent a night at Dublin airport, due to the timing of out flight. Not only did the lady at reception upgrade us to a bigger room she settled us in the lounge with a tea tray to relax while the room was being made ready. Beautiful big room with a sea view and my husband loved watching the ships come in. I enjoyed the bath, TV, Fridge, Kettle and a little lift to go up to the 3rd floor. The bed was sheer luxury as was the room service. We had two dinners at the hotel. They were reasonably priced and adapted to gluten free for me. I don’t give an excellent rating lightly but this place really deserves one.

Great hotel for a break in the Isle of Man

well situated for all attractions in Douglas. Plentiful free roadside parking outside hotel. Very friendly staff in all areas. Nice bar and good food.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

The hotel was very helpful. I loved that it had a restaurant and the food was good. The staff were very helpful.

Thr sound proofing of the room. It was very noisy with the other guests and the room seemed to be surrounded in all directions with noisy neighbours.
