It was very good, wide range of variety.
More facilities in the room. Not usual
Standard for 4 star hotel.

Breakfast excellent with a la carte choices . Such a beautiful and interesting hotel with little passages and staircases .. Staff friendly and location outstanding. A " Real Old Lady " and well looked after .
Cannot think of anything.

The location of the hotel was perfect.
Our room was basic but spacious and it had an ironing board, iron, hairdryer, sewing kit, shoe polish, 2 fans, tv, and refreshments station that was replenished.
Bus routes nearby to go to all locations needed.
The Strand shopping centre is directly behind the hotel.
Staff and locals are extremely friendly and happy to share knowledge.
Welcome centre nearby, it is packed with information and staff are amazing.
For ourselves nothing I can't wait to visit again.
However, it would have been nice to have seen disabled access the steps entering the building meaning a wheelchair user couldn't gain access.

Excellent location on the promenade and also near to the quays and town centre. In the public areas the hotel was modern, light and airy. The breakfasts were delicious - good choice and well presented. Airport bus stops outside the hotel.
Our room was at the back with no outlook. However, the room description was very clear about size and location so we weren’t disappointed. We didn’t spend much time in the room anyway.

Business room (208) was really well set out the small lounge making it feel like a small suite.
Underwhelming breakfast, poor buffet selection and any tweaks to the "full" breakfast ingredients were ignored (noticed the same for another couple of tables too). Window in the room didn't close properly which made kicking out from 1886 particularly noisy.

Staff and amenities were very good
Room was awful for the price we paid. No view, 2 single beds put together that kept splitting. Noise from other places at the back of the premises kept us awake

we liked everything, apart from our rather dark bedroom
we paid for an upgrade, a suite, and it had only two opaque windows in the bedroom and sitting area which made the room very dark. don’t choose that room!

Very comfortable bed. Room nice and airy. Bathroom lovely. Breakfast was exceptional. Service very friendly. The bathroom mirror didn't get all steamed up ... hooray! The lounge area was very relaxing for a quiet drink before we went out for the evening.
We had to turn the heating off, as it was far too hot.

Excellent staff, location, breakfast, communal areas
Having stayed a couple of times, the beds would be enough to make me chose a different hotel next time unfortunately. A so-called double is good for one person. Also, although the comfort level is subjective, again it was not what I experience elsewhere. Pity, everything else is great.

Great ambience and restaurant
Our room was a little small and had only an opaque window.

The hotel was in a fantastic location on Douglas Promenade with the shops and bars a 1 minute walk away. The breakfast in the mornings was fantastic. This was a served breakfast rather than the usual self service buffet style. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a lovely comfortable lounge to sit in and they have a good bar menu if you don’t want to go in for a full dinner. Extensive drinks list as well. A very clean and comfortable hotel.
I was in a Premier room which are the dearest rooms and was slightly disappointed. The room had wooden floors and no carpet. Would have been better carpeted. After paying £796 for 5 days I was expecting a room with a view. However, this room had no view whatsoever. Many frosted glass windows that barely opened and when you peered over the top all you got was a smelly rubbish yard. The noise during the night and morning was of the rubbish and bottles being thrown in the bins. Not very acceptable when you are paying for a Premium room. The room was lovely and spacious and had everything you could possibly want, apart from air conditioning. Sadly, the lack of a view plus the noise from the rubbish being thrown out and the smell of it let the hotel down.

Bed sheets not changed after 1st night.
Insects in the bathroom, insect or possibly lice on the bed sheet. Long hair in the pillow, mattress springs really uncomfortable

beautiful hotel
fantastic views
