The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was clean, friendly and set up well to make travellers feel secure. Loved the swap area to borrow or trade something needed for the stay.
Top bunks could use a little area for suitcase or backpack.

Location, friendly staff, kitchen, balcony and shared place at the reception floor
Noise because of the bar and matress was not comfy

The location is excellent, the bar upstairs is also convenient

The hotel was very centric, close to the church and bus stops. Also many restaurants close by. It is a good option for a short stay in Reykjavik
Outside our room, in the hallway, we saw an old man sleeping on the floor (probably homeless). Was not unsafe but probably wasn’t expecting that. One of the reasons is because you just enter with a code and there is no people checking who enters the hotel.

Really great bar to meet people, and very central to everything.
More food options at the bar would have been nice.

Location doesn't get better than this. Rooftop bar has amazing views.
Bathroom tiles need a good scrub

Location and staff
No a/c but I know that’s thing not often done outside of US

Good location, easy check in
Checking in at 10 at night to a top bunk where I have to make my own bed while 4 roommates are asleep. Had to put on bedsheet, duvetcover and pillowsheet myself. Linen was not clean, it may have been washed but it had big spots on it and should be thrown out. The little storage room by the bed was disgusting with old boogers, old nails, used chewing gum and used snus in it.
The shared bathroom didn’t seem like it had been cleaned for a while either. In general it didn’t seem like cleanliness was a priority at all.
Breakfast was really simple with some cereal and bread but still cost over 2000 isk.

Good location, easy check out.
Bedside shelf was full of trash when we checked in. Bathrooms seemed to be cleaned every day though.

I like the design and vibe of the communal area. Plus, the price was great.
Nothing

The staff was great and the vibe was fun. 4th floor was a bar and rooftop overlook of the city. Place was popping for the Eurovision finals. I had no idea Europeans took the so seriously. It was cute to watch
The bathrooms were tiny as hell and the shower, while having great water pressure, was like trying to take a shower in a sausage casing. Packed so tight
Also, the pillow was meager at best. Woke up sore each day

The location was absolutely perfect - right in the heart of Reykjavík, we were able to walk to all of the restaurants/bars/attractions right from the hostel. We loved the outdoor balcony and had some happy hour beers the evening we were staying. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, we felt very welcome. Everything was clean and spacious. We will definitely return on our next trip to Iceland!

it is one of my go to places for a clean, affordable rest. location is Excellant. Kaffitar is across the street and down town restaurants are 1-20 mins away, it’s perfect.

The Hostel was located in the city of Reykjavik, with plenty attractions and amenities within close proximity. Staff where very attentive with any requests or questions while on the trip. The room was very clean along with the toilets.
First time staying in a hostel while solo travelling and I have to say I’m glad I’ve had such a great experience! Met some lovely friends during the trip.
The Hostel has a great social place for making new friends and striking up conversations.
Would definitely recommend and will be booking here again on my next stay to Reykjavik.
Significant noise outside in the streets on the weekends due to the hostel being within close proximity of bars and clubs. However I was expecting this based on prior reviews but nothing some ear plugs won’t fix!

The hostel is in such a good location, and has a very social but not forced atmosphere. The bar can get busy at evenings, but it is still a really nice vibe. All of the staff are super helpful with everything. All of the rooms are on a different level to the bar, that are protected by a code system, as well as each room and every traveler has their own code, so you know you are safe.
I stayed in one of the mixed dorms towards the street facing side of the building, and it’s unavoidable but due to the location of the hostel it can get pretty noisy at the weekend nights when the clubs are open.

The location is perfect, great bar and food to get to and the people are so friendly there too. The room I had was all female's doom. Met the nicest girls there. Very safe and doable for solo travellers.
Sometimes there isn't always a person at the front desk, like checking out I had to wait for 10 minutes.

Likes that the room had its own bathroom, bed mattress was comfy
the room was cold due to the window latch being broken you could feel the winter wind blasting through the window, as I was on the bed closest to the window I could really feel the wind coming through. When I looked at the window it was all rotten and wet so obviously was leaking in too.

best location in centre of Reykjavik
a bit expensive

The room is shared with others. The communal aspect is nice, and it fostered social interaction.
It was unclear when and how often the rooms were cleaned. For example, during my first stay, I noticed there were foodbits in my cubby area. However, with this being a hostel, I don't mind as much. Also, there was a club of some sort nearby so loud music was playing at night.

It has a really good location, in the main centre of the city.
I had a really bad experience related with guests that were really drunk, but this kind of things exceeds the hostel per se. They cannot know what people is going to do. I really appreciated that I sent an email and the manager of the hostel was really kind with me about that.
