Pleasantly Surprised.

Great welcome from Graham at reception, room was very spacious, clean and well presented. Good selection at breakfast and very quick service from friendly staff. Evening meal was very good with reasonable prices for food and drink.

Disappointed

Staff are friendly

Service of evening food extremely slow. Ordered drinks and was told waitress would be over to take our order in a few minutes. We waited for over 30 minutes and even then had to go and ask again if anyone was going to take our order. This has really put us off staying again as when you are travelling all day and you want a relaxing meal and drink before going to bed, you don't want to be sitting waiting for ages for some food.

Total misery and NOT worth the money.

Breakfast was good and the girl who welcomed us at check-in was also nice and friendly.

We booked two rooms and it was far too expensive for the low level of accommodation. The wi-fi simply didn't work. My wife wanted to catch up with work on her laptop but no wi-fi, it wouldn't connect. There was no-one in reception to help as it was Sunday evening. In addition to that there seemed to be some party going on in the room next to ours late at night with a roudy bunch of guys which meant we couldn't get to sleep. Once again there was no recourse as there was no staff to complain to. I tried calling the number given but again, there was no human to speak to. When we checked out and handed the keys back at reception, the woman there was pretty miserable and never even asked how our stay was. One thing is for certain, we won't ever be staying at the Mill Forge again!

Very comfortable and convenient as an overnight travel stop

We both enjoyed our evening meal, but the breakfast was disappointing

The poached eggs were overcooked and we did not enjoy the 'plastic' bread. Also the coffee was not good and not particularly hot.

lovely hotel clean and had all we needed

only issue was the shower was poor.

only issue was that we felt 09:00 was early to finish breakfast. we didn’t have a time card to let us know when it finished. fortunately the staff agreed to do a breakfast even though it was 09:05.

Great Stay over to break up the journey.

Breakfast was good although it was up a flight of stairs which maybe an issue to those with mobility issues. Staff were good, friendly and happy to assist.

We only stayed for one night and everything was fine for the evening. So I can't really comment on what could be done better.

Well managed hotel with friendly and efficient staff that is good value

The room was a good size and comfortable. Loads of tea/coffee/milk left by housekeeping. Iron and full size ironing board provided and full length mirror - it was a wedding venue so these items were very useful. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked to order so was so much nicer than a buffet service. Good parking facilities.

There was nothing not to like about this hotel. It was quiet and well managed and good value for money with very easy access from the motorway. We would definitely stay there again.

Lovely picturesque place, a tad pricey for what you get though

Breakfast included (hot food stops 9am) there's was a bar, restaurant and wee shop plus it was convenient for motorway

No black out curtains, light coming into room since 4am, walls are paper thin could hear other people's alarm going off at silly o'clock in the morning, and having to check out for 10am
