Breakfast selection was huge and tasted great
4.5
I liked just about all. Centrally located, parking, locally sourced meats & home made pies. Friendly & informative staff, clean, comfortable & reasonably priced.
If I had to nit pick, the cask ales were a little on the pricey side, but I wasn't expecting there to be cask ales, so that was a bonus anyway

Very personal family run Inn with lots of character.
Some rooms can be quite small.

On arrival, Paul explained everything within a few minutes to perfection, noting was missed. Everything was perfect highly recommend.

Good location with private car park although we did have to pay £5.00 extra as we booked through Booking dot com and not direct !
Property itself was fine.
3.5
The room was well serviced we didn’t need to ask for towels clean utensils or tea, coffee etc like we have at other properties. The shower was nice and the room was clean we were also able to check in early.
Other guests were noisy and a barking dog, however it is a restaurant therefore noise is to be expected.

Location, parking, dogs allowed, reasonably priced
Very small room with little parameter to get into bed at the sides
3.5
Friendly, felt safe, had everything that was needed.
Worn out carpets. Quite smelly both in the bar and the room
4.5
The hotel and food was lovely and very welcoming! From the reception, welcome, checking in, food etc. nothing was too much trouble. I booked the room following several train cancellations and being stranded from home and was very surprised, given some of my experiences with independents on various websites! It was clean, comfortable and good value for money and the homecooked food was just what i needed. Whilst a little on the pricey side, you could tell it was freshly prepared and cooked and made awelcome change form my usual high street hotels and pub chains/restaurants. Would definitely stay again if I needed to!
Only a minor point! The chair is the room was too big to fit between the bed and the table (plus the mini fridge underneath it took up most of the legroom anyway) so it would have been no good should I have needed to do any work. The table itself was just that little bit too far away from ther edge of the bed to be able to use that to sit on either!

Everything you wanted was in the room even a sewing kit ironing board, hairdryer, you name it it was there
Easy access

Great location, great room. We had the deluxe double at the top front for 5 days. Spacious, clean, fridge, drawers, wardrobe. Family run, very helpful.
Breakfasts and dinners amazing. Would stay again if in the area.
Nothing.

Dinner menu delicious and imaginative though on the pricey side. I didn't have breakfast.
Cosy and welcoming public rooms - and people.
Lots of thoughtful details in the bedroom - eg fresh milk in fridge for tea and coffee.
Good shower.
Bedroom slightly cramped and too many pointless cushions on the bed.
3.5
The breakfast was exceptionally good - but as a one off! full all day.
Easy free parking
Street & traffic noise annoying in bedroom - sound proofing curtains have been invented!

Friendly and helpful owners; excellent meals at dinner and breakfast; comfortable and clean rooms; great location for places to visit.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Exceptional room. Superb breakfast.

I didn't really know what to expect - it was a late booking on a solo long distance cycling trip and I arrived hungry and tired. The welcome was great, the room was excellent, and the meals, both evening and breakfast, absolutely brilliant. If ever I am in the area again I would make a point of staying here. A lot of effort over the years from this obviously family run hotel has clearly paid off

All went well really, as expected
There was nothing I did not like about staying here. It was fine

It was a lovely, friendly, small Inn with a great breakfast in the morning.

They were good for the 1 night. See below
WHen we booked it was for 2 nights, but when we got there they only had 1 . So we spent the next morning looking for a stay. Not what we requested from you, so we wont use you again. Also Travel Lodge accross the road came up but they were useless.
SO when we found somewhere else we had a great time.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The owner pumped up my tyres when i arrived and reset the tyre pressure gauge setting. The staff was very helpful in all respects.
I cant think of anything

Excellent hospitality from attentive owner and family and the most extensive English breakfast menu I have seen - recommend the 'Newark breakfast'. Facilities were clean, with evidence of some clever thinking and organisation.
Nothing - all was good.

Would return again
Had to pay for parking

Fairly laid back atmosphere of a family run hotel/inn
Some rooms traffic noisey if windows open.

Good location and parking. Value for money.
The coffee wasn’t particularly nice unfortunately it was very weak.

Staff was very attentive rooms were spotles. Food was first class and plenty of it...

Parking on site, although not free.
Fridge in room.
Very comfortable room.
Room 2 needs two curtains as one just doesn't keep it dark in summer mornings. Wide awake at 4am both mornings because it was so light.
Minimal complimentary toiletries would have been nice too.

the food is absolutly fantastic and the hosts are marvelouse
4.0
The food is exceptional. Freshly prepared and cooked using local produce. The rooms were well maintained and very clean.
The drinks were very expensive and due to be by a main road it was a bit noisy from the traffic. Especially as it was very hot weather so we had to have the windows open.
