About this cabin rental
Spacious log home close to Raystown Lake - sleeps up to 10
If you’re ready for a great getaway or family vacation, this is your place! Built in 2017, Bear Bottom is a 2,700 sq ft log home nestled at the base of a mountain near James Creek, PA, and centered between Seven Points Marina and Raystown Lake Resort (10 min drive to each) and just minutes from Aitch boat launch! The home sits on a private, 25 acre wooded property overlooking a pond. Gather around the fire pit to tell stories, roast hot dogs, or make S'mores. Guests can enjoy relaxing in one of the rocking chairs on the wrap around porch/deck with picturesque views. You may even catch a glimpse of turkey, deer, bear, birds and more! Try your luck fishing for blue gills and large-mouth bass in the pond. If you’re up for a small hike up the mountain, at the corner of the property, adjacent to the Pennsylvania State Game Land, you can see the lake in the distance.
Inside, you'll find three floors. The main floor is open concept with cathedral ceilings in the living area, maple hardwood floors, gas fireplace, half bath, laundry room, dining room, and spacious kitchen with breakfast nook. You will also find the carpeted master bedroom and a private bath with Jacuzzi tub and spa-inspired, stone floor shower. The second floor has a loft with beautiful views outside the large windows (great for quiet reading). There are three additional bedrooms on the second floor - two Queen beds and one Bunk Bed (Queen & Full), along with a full bath/shower. One of the bedrooms includes a private balcony area! In the basement (unfinished), you will find a ping-pong table, Foosball, air hockey, and corn hole boards.
If you enjoy outdoor adventures, Bear Bottom is minutes from Raystown Lake. The lake's Seven Points Marina area offers beach swimming, picnicking, boating, mountain biking, and much more! Take a morning hike on the Allegrippis Trails or at Trough Creek State Park. You can even kayak on the Juniata River. In nearby Huntingdon, you will find Lincoln Caverns, several great restaurants, and home to Juniata College. Those who venture a bit further can find attractions like Delgrosso's Amusement Ride/Water Park, Altoona Curve Baseball, Penn State Football, and several shopping centers.

Loved everything about this property. Not too far from the lake and boat launch. We were able to get our 24’ pontoon up the driveway and easily able to turn it around. We will definitely be back!

We had 5 adults and an 18 month old for half the weekend, 3 adults the entire weekend. This location is magic! Everything is organized and labeled - it made my heart happy!
The jacuzzi was wonderful (it does take a while to fill). The house is cozy yet has room to spread out. The land is beautiful.
We were 15ish mins from Raystown Marina where we could rent a pontoon for the day.
Cant wait to come back again!

We had a great stay at Bear Bottom. The property was very clean and easy to find. Our expectations were exceeded. We recently stayed at a similar cabin home in Gatlinburg, Tn and this cabin, Bear Bottom, blew the other out of the water. The overall build of the house is of high quality and is set up perfectly for a vacationing family. Spacious, Secluded, Private, Clean, Ammenities.

We rented this property for a family fall gathering. The house is magnificent and very clean and decorated beautifully. Everything we could need was there. The beds were very comfortable. And the property on which the house sits is absolutely gorgeous with the pond and walking trails. We would definitely rent this property again.

The house is beautiful! Highly recommend. Having stayed in many VRBO rentals, this was by far the cleanest. The house has everything you'll need. Our party of 10 consisted of ages 11-80. Perfect for everyone! The host has thought of everything, the communication was quick and easy and every question was answered. We will definitely be back! Can't recommend enough.

We rented this property for my son's wedding which was being held at Raystown Lake conference center. I needed a place that had an oven so I could bake the wedding cakes. The house was very impressive it was very clean, had everything you could want or need and beautifully decorated. The views were amazing off the deck. My husband who is a safety engineer was impressed with the attention and details of all the safety items there. We had a great time there while we didnt get to spend alot of time enjoying the sites or attracts there due to the wedding activities but are hoping to get to go back again to relax and enjoy the area. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us

Our family stayed for four nights and it was perfect. We loved the private and quiet location but still close to trails and Huntington. This home has a lovely deck that overlooks a small pond down the hill. We spent many hours in the rocking chairs looking out. All the bedrooms were comfortable and we slept well. The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked all our meals there. The owner was very responsive and helpful when we had a question. Looking forward to staying here again next time we are in Raystown.

The property is located conveniently to all amenities at Raystown Lake. The pond on the property was a big draw and a big hit with the family. The size and layout of the home was perfect. We especially liked the wrap around deck, firepit area, and the game room in the basement. We would highly recommend this property and would stay again!

Worth every penny! Words can not describe how happy we are with our stay. Close to the lake and very secluded. Large enough for our family 7 adults and one teen. The check in process and instructions were so easy.

Once again, a wonderful experience!
This is our second time staying at Bear Bottom. Exceeded our expectations the first and managed to do so again. We have already agreed that this trip is going to become a yearly family get at together. We've already decided on a week in 2023. The home is spotless, perfectly maintained and stocked with everything you would need. Feels as though you are staying at a family members home with the level of detail and cleanliness. We have a seasonal slip at Raystown Resort and the location to both Seven Points and the Resort is ideal. Tons of games and activities. Private and well laid out. Can't recommend this property more, you won't be disappointed. Great communication with Lisa as well. Thank you!
