Houben is a lovely boutique hotel with fantastic sundown views over the sea.
Lovely room- good size with full Seaview.
Very comfortable large bed, large bathroom with a seaview from jaccuzzi.
The staff are very professional and friendly, always smile and ready to help.

I would absolutely love to return to Houben in the future! The breathtaking cliff and sunset views, the spotless rooms, and the incredibly friendly staff all make it the perfect choice for accommodation. I cannot recommend The Houben hotel enough for anyone looking for a truly unforgettable.

Incredible hotel - the 4th hotel we stayed at in Thailand and by far the best. Small but comfortable, friendly staffs take care of us like family. Stunning sundowns, we will definitely be back. Would highly recommend to couples.

The room is very comfortable with a large bed. You have stunning balcony and pool views as well as of the sea and sunset. The hotel offers delicious breakfast, best we had in Thailand! Very friendly staff and a great hotel to spend a few days relaxing.
The only thing we didn't love was the sofa in our room, it wasn't particularly comfortable to sit back on. That is honestly the only thing we didn't love.

The infinity pool, nice restaurant and beautiful views, good thai massage.
Special thank you to the girl in the restaurant Yok who was very nice and worked so hard to make our stay amazing.
As it was low season it was very quiet and some activities we could not do. However, we liked the quiet as well.

Very warm and peaceful place. Great view of the ocean. Spacious and comfortable room. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Traditional and delicious food and drinks. Many activities and services offered at affordable prices. I really recommend to stay a few days in this hotel if you come in Ko Lanta.

The place was amazingly beautiful, well-designed, quiet and private. We love their balcony that's made of glass so we could see through to the sea from our huge bed. The staff and the owner were very nice and friendly. Breakfast there was delicious and the cocktails there also were outstanding. First, we booked here for only 3 nights then we fell in love with this place so we extended our stay 5 more nights. Highly recommended and we'll come back for sure.

The view is exceptional. One of the best sunset we saw on our 3 weeks trip in Thailand. Great staff, especially the manager who was very kind and helpful. Very good value as well, especially the food. Pro tip: rent a motorbike nearby and check out the very nice beaches south.
The gym could be better.

The place has a view to die for. Probably the next sunset in lanta. The breakfast was one of the best we have had. Please support this establishment . They like all suffered during the lockdown
The place is showing its age a bit. Having stayed there before. But to be fair the new owners took over the place just 2 months before the covid lockdowns . I am sure they suffered tremendous financial setbacks

The owner (Eric) was truly gracious and accommodating, always checking in and had great suggestions on things to do and see. Staff was all very helpful and cheerful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Food was great, Room was nice but some bathroom upgrades are overdue.... luckily didn't spend much time there. Amazing sunsets and very relaxing atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to spend more time at the Houben again.
Bathroom needs better lighting and some updates to fixtures.

Everything, staff was absolutely amazing, the facilities were unique, great location for a couples weekend, view was amazing and the room was comfortable, quiet and love friendly.
A water monitor ran through our patio area, not the hotel’s fault but put an early stop to our romantic bath because my gf was a bit frightened

The hotel was amazing. The room view was exceptional and something that we can never forget. Staff were super helpful with everything and really cared for our safety. We will definitely be returning back here whenever we are back in Lanta.

The staff and owner couldn’t have been more helpful. We enjoyed all the facilities and local area. Amazing breakfast!

The view! Absolute unique selling point for this little hotel. I recommend taking the suite so you have the best possible place to watch the sunset. Staff and beyond to help you. We had to leave at 5AM and they prepared a breakfast box for us so we wouldn't be hungry.
Covid hasn't been kind to Koh Lanta, and it kind of shows in the hotel as well. When we were there they were working hard to renovate and improve the place again in top glory, so no hard feelings there.

The room had a million dollar view and breakfast consisted of many options and was delicous! The staff were personal and went out of their way to accomodate you, i.e. they offered you a glass of water when you were in the pool, they remembered the way you liked your coffee or how you liked your room. Truly wonderful people.
It was a steep climb to your room as there is no elevator. Some of the pillows were a bit bulky.

The care and attention afforded by Eric and the entire Houben team was second to none. Beautiful room overlooking the ocean (as they all are), very good choice for breakfast. Courteous and helpful staff all the way. We didn't want to leave and hope to be back soon. Thanks All ❤️

Pool was red. Never seen that before. The View is excellent. We could see the sun setting. We didn't have the breakfast we were too busy exploring. We managed to rent a scooter just a 2 minute walk away and went to lots of the beaches. I recommend renting a scooter then turning right when leaving the property and going straight to the lighthouse at the end of the road then go to all the beaches on the way back up. Lots of exploring necessary and you're well rewarded. The food up the road at the Rock restaurant was incredible. Pad See Ew with egg noodles was insanely good.

it was quite and not very busy. No kids! Breakfast was good. Staff was exceptional.
Room said it had a sea view, it was barely a sea view.

The sunset view was great , The pool is great and deep ,Nice small hotel, the location is good, they did respond to the problems we had with the bathroom, the local village had good restaurants , shops and scooters
The food was poor both snack and breakfast , cold eggs and staff not well trained. We had issues in both bathrooms, Limited sun beds not enough for the number of rooms

As we stayed during the covid 19 pandemic, the service with received for the staff was amazing. They were so upbeat considering what was occurring with no tourists.
5.0
The architecture is quite striking, but the most impressive thing is the view. Superficially, the room's interior is also striking, but it almost immediately becomes clear that most of the fittings are old; the doors in particular are way out of sync with the (apparently) intended effect, & show a lot of battle scars covered with a thin layer of paint. Philippe Starck certainly had zero to do with the bathroom, but you feel that maybe he should have. So my glowing review is purely on a "rapport prix qualité" basis. For the price it's amazing, if I was paying full wack, in a Covid-is-over era, I might be quite disappointed. With the vast majority of Thais involved in the hospitality industry moaning about how badly their business is being affected by the pandemic, but doing close to nothing about it, this is an example of one which has gone all out to provide great value for money, & they deserve to do well out of it. Nearly forgot to mention: nice staff, lovely pool.
They should learn how to spell "Bordeaux" (unless "Boardaux" is meant to be a joke). It somehow fails to add to the aura of sophistication! Breakfast is pretty ordinary (but unusually good quality bread used for toast (though paired with horrible jam)). Simple farang food at dinner was quite good, the Thai food less so, price of wine ridiculous (but not atypical for TH). Not sure whether the monkeys should go in the plus or minus column....
