About this house rental
Summary:
Slide into Palmetto Cottage at Casa Zoë, where stepping into a Slim Aarons photo shoot meets accidentally crashing an exclusive, yet oddly welcoming, garden party. This 3 bed, 3 bath sanctuary, tucked inside a historic building, doesn’t just whisper luxury; it laughs out loud with boho-chic flair and walls that showcase more Slim Aarons art than a gallery night with an open bar.
The Space:
Step into the epitome of Casa Zoë chic with this 3BR, 3BA masterpiece, where every inch screams "design goals" and every room whispers tales of Slim Aarons' poolside glam. It's like living in a Pinterest board come to life, but with way better stories. This isn't just an apartment; it's a boho-chic sanctuary nestled in Charleston’s heartbeat, where sophistication sips iced tea with whimsy.
From the marble-drenched bathrooms that'll make your selfies 100% more glamorous, to a fully equipped kitchen, this space was designed for those who laugh in the face of ordinary. Bedrooms? We've got three, each with its own ensuite, because queueing for bathrooms is so last season. And for the culinary inclined or caffeine-dependent, we've thrown in everything but the kitchen sink—though, of course, there’s one of those too, and it’s pretty swanky.
Just a saunter away from Charleston’s culinary and shopping nirvana, you're perfectly placed to dive into the city's vibrant scene—or just people-watch with a locally roasted coffee in hand. Whether you’re crashing in one of the queen beds or the bunk beds (because why should kids have all the fun?), this space promises not just a stay but a story. So come for the luxury, stay for the laughs, and leave with plans to return. Casa Zoë is calling.
The Neighborhood:
Cannon-Elliotborough embodies the quintessential Charleston charm: a blend of fine dining, quaint cafes, vibrant bars, and one-of-a-kind boutiques that echo the quirkiness of an eccentric relative. With its streets inviting leisurely strolls, you'll navigate the neighborhood like a seasoned local, stumbling upon hidden gems at every corner. Positioned just moments from the bustling energy of King Street, it strikes a perfect balance between a tranquil retreat and the city's dynamic rhythm. For those seeking an authentic Charleston experience, Cannon-Elliotborough is the place to be—it captures the city's vibrant essence in a way that's lively yet pleasantly subdued.
Getting Around:
Step lively or tap your app—around here, you're never stuck. Take a leisurely walk to local gems or catch an Uber in a snap for beach trips and city adventures. With everything just a wander away, and rides aplenty, you're set for the easy life in this walker's paradise. Convenience is king, and you're wearing the crown!
Other Things to Note:
Casa Zoë guests get exclusive access to The Wonderer Charleston, a private 2-acre oasis downtown with a pool, eateries, bars, cabanas, a gym, spa therapies, workspaces, live music, and social events. It's an adult-only club with a Bali-Tulum vibe. Note: Day passes are first-come, first-serve, and booking ahead is advised for visits between April 15th - September 1st. Groups over 8 need approval and may need to rent a cabana. The Club's entry age is 25, with exceptions for members' guests or special permissions. Check for age limits at special events.

The house was perfect for our stay to attend a wedding. The wedding was beautiful but the house offered a great place to congregate not only with those staying at the house but for others staying elsewhere to meet to go to dinner or just catch up for a few minutes. The host was exceptionally attentive. I had several questions and they were answered within minutes. A wonderful choice for us.

We enjoyed our stay in this bright, clean, cheerful home. Meg was an awesome host with very prompt responses to a couple inquiries we had. We’d happily stay here again.

We were 3 couples and enjoyed our stay very much! Beds were very comfortable, and we loved that we each had our own bathroom. Light and airy, loved Charleston. Parking was tight.

The property was the perfect rental for three couples. We all had our own en-suite bathrooms plus the great common area to gather. The property manager was very helpful. We had a great stay.

This was our 10th trip, including three couples 65 and older. We rent a VRBO, and every time it comes down to location!

Perfect in every way
I rented the Aviary so that my adult son, daughter and I could spend three days in Charleston together. The place was beautifully and tastefully appointed, with all necessary amenities. Communication with the owner was effortless. Located in a quiet neighborhood, it was just a seven minute walk to a free trolley stop, although walking all the way down to the Battery wasn't out of the question. I highly recommend the Aviary as one of the nicest rental-by-owner places in which I've stayed.

Nice space. Lacking a few basic.
Very nice space-bright and airy. Very comfortable. Location is convenient to King St. Neighborhood is in transition with older and recent renovations. The kitchen is not set up for serious cooking. There are no pantry items and very limited cabinet and counter space. There were no basic cleaning items; broom, dustpan, etc. Manager was very slow in responding to basic question of how to get into the space. Turns out it was unlocked. There was no information on WiFi access (took over a day to get password from manager, check out instructions, etc. We had a great stay-just missing some basic amenities and communication with manager.

Second stay at this gorgeous house!
I stayed at this rental last year and loved it so much, I had to come back! The location is great- in a cute area downtown within walking distance to restaurants and boutiques. Love the charming feel of the interior with a mix of modern updates and comfortable furnishings. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed.

Great Location in a Great City
Fantastic place. Very clean, in walking distance to many eateries and a very short Uber to places too far to walk. Highly recommend; hope to stay again soon.

Charleston Charm
This home was perfect for our group - two couples and we each have a teenage son. The parents each had their own bedroom with en suite on the 2nd floor. One boy had a bedroom on the first floor and the other slept on the pull out sofa. They shared the full bath on the first floor. There was ample seating in the living room for 6 people and the kitchen was well stocked. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area. You need to drive to most of the main tourist attractions, but they are only about 10 minutes away. There was a picnic table outside for morning coffee, but it would have been nicer to have a more formal courtyard or deck. The owner was very nice and attentive.

Fantastic place!
We travel quite a bit, this place was one of the best places we’ve ever stay at. It’s clean and chic, has everything we could possibly need, and location is great. Communication was very prompt. My children were sad to leave. We will be back

Folsom Friends
We were 3 couples, and the accommodations were perfect. Each couple felt they had privacy. There is ample parking, but it was a little difficult finding the location, since we drove ourselves. Owner/property manager responded immediately to text. The location is excellent. I would highly recommend this VRBO!

Five Star
Great property in great location with great management. Perfect for 3 couples. We had 2, but 3 would be fine. Even better, could easily do 8+ couples or several family groups in this compound. Also, 2 minutes from Cannon Green if involved in a wedding there. Finally, easy to King, easy to entire peninsula, easy to West Ashley, easy to Mount Pleasant and beaches, and easy to airport.

Lovely Downtown Stay
This house was situated in a convenient downtown location for my birthday weekend. We stayed in the “Aviary” portion of the property. Beautifully decorated and perfect for our every need. Spacious, clean bedrooms and bathrooms. The living and dining area provided a great layout for us to cook breakfast and hangout. We walked to restaurant and bars with ease. We are already planning our return and will definitely stay here again.

Charleston FOOD AND WINE
What a great location to enjoy Charleston. Close to Museums, King Street and a short walk to Marian Square where the Culinary Village was. Bedrooms were comfortable as was den and kitchen area.
Thank you Meg and Stevenson!

Even better than expected!
Great space with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms! We had 3 couples so it worked perfectly. The property was super clean and the linens were first class. Walking distance to King Street and 1 block to my new favorite juice bar and cafe: Five Loaves. I had to communicate several times with the property owner and it was always a quick response. Will definitely come back.

Charleston 2019
Three couples of family members met at this property for the 2019 Christmas holiday. We found that the location was wonderful - walking distance to a host of restaurants, entertainment and other amenities and some small convenient stores not too far away. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Your private parking is convenient and secure. Note: it would be advisable to be patient when one first arrives as actually locating the property was somewhat difficult, particularly if you are arriving after dark, or, as was our case, during a rain storm. This property is located off of the street and behind several other buildings - one must drive thru a small parking area to get to the "front" and only entrance door. No signage exists that assists in this effort.
The sleeping and bath accommodations are excellent and controlling the room temperatures is great.
While there are accommodations for food preparation, including pots / pans / dishware and utensils, one would not find that this location is geared to doing a great deal of cooking. There is minimal food storage room and virtually no counter top space that one would need to do a great deal of food preparation or cooking. This issue could easily be addressed.
On the two occasions we contacted the management they were very helpful and responsive.
There are no chest of drawers for clothing storage - all storage is in the closets where hanging storage is limited.
Seating in the house can accommodate 6 people around the table. The internet service accommodate everyone's needs nicely. The television was of a nice size and quality. All connections to the TV were done thru online services - no audio/video equipment is available.
Some minor issues that could be easily address would enhance this locations appeal: We found that more storage in the communal living area would be a great improvement, as would some ability to hang clothing in the rooms and communal area would add to the experience. It would also be helpful to have operating instructions for the appliances (particularly the microwave) and heating system. The chairs surrounding the dinning table are awkward as was the table cloth. The ability to depose of garbage bags outside should be considered as well. We never found a dust pan.
To conclude - we had a great stay, lots of fun with our family and easily access to great restaurants. This will be our memories of this visit to Charleston and our stay at this location.

Nice Nesting Place at Sparrow
Sparrow House is in historic Charleston. A short drive to the Market, carriage rides and harbor cruise. Parking on premises was fine. The house itself was very nice, clean, beds comfortable, bathrooms nicely done. Loved the glass entrance and living room/kitchen area. We were 3 couples staying and it was fine for us.

Wedding Werkend
We were overall happy with our stay. Our shower lightbulb was burned out but I neglected to mention on our departure so I hope he reads this. The kitchen was handy as we ate all our meals out but breakfast. Also we needed one extra car space which they were nice enough to accommodate. The windows needed to be dusted for cobwebs as I have a thing about that. The front door was cute with it being a split down the middle then it opens up. So cute. Overall happy but at end of the day walking Charleston I sure hated to climb those stairs. Should have taken the first floor bedroom.

Charleston Wedding Weekend
Three couples selected this property as home base for a wedding weekend. It was a great place to stay based on access to restaurants and other tourist attractions. We liked the neighborhood vibe that the Aviary provided. Although minor deficiencies existed, we would recommend the Aviary to others. Atch

Great home
The Aviary is one of the best places I have stayed. Plenty of room and nicely furnished. Parking was easy and location was good. Coffee and toiletries were furnished. One of three hairdryers quit and within the hour, we had a new hairdryer brought by a very nice man. I highly recommend staying here and will rent again if I have opportunity.

Our original property was affected by “Dorian” and Meg, the property manager quickly relocated us (prior to our arrival)

The property is outstanding and just darling. It is well furnished, very comfortable plenty of room for 6 adults. Great location walk or Uber everywhere. Easy to pop over to folly beach or Sullivan island but fantastic in-town location. Owners very nice! We would stay there over and over.

Family Friendly Stay
The Aviary at Sparrow House was a great place to unwind and enjoy family time. The parking is ample and the house is convenient to King Street and an easy walk to 5 Loaves Restaurant. We had everything we needed and a few things forgotten were brought over immediately. I reduced cleanliness by 1 star because the staircase wall needs a fresh coat of paint as it is scuffed up by prior guests and the white railing to upstairs needs a wash. Other than that, all was great.

We had 4 girlfriends from school days fly into Charleston to visit the city and catch up with each other. The 3 bedroom, 3 bath was a great fit as well as having a location where we could walk to restaurants and shops. We really enjoyed gathering in the sitting room at the beginning and end of each day. I t was easy to get Uber and Lyft there. We would definitely book again!
