This stay was wonderful. We stayed for 2 x nights: 2 adults and 2 children. The suite was much bigger than I expected. The staff in the bar where we had breakfast were lovely, as was the lady who completed our house keeping. The room was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delicious. The kids had plenty of space to play. The suite was light and airy too. Surrounded by a beautiful golf course and the Cowdray ruins in sight, the location was beautiful. We also went to Midhurst a couple of times and it was a really straight forward drive. Midhurst is beautiful to walk around and the pubs were nice. We also walked around the ruins and polo fields which was great for the kids to burn off some energy. We intend to go back in the summer so we can watch some polo!

Very isolated with no staff on site after 5pm. We had drunk people knocking on the walls and doors trying to get in at 3.30am and other than ring the police we had no support. Our baby was woken and we were very concerned for our safety.

Good location, view, easy to check in!
Was tough to get staff at breakfast in the morning to order anything.
You had to pay extra for a cappuccino which is literally just a bit of milk. And for how much you are paying a night I think that’s silly!
There was no shower in the room only a bath - maybe we could have chose another room however so this isn’t entirely the venues fault.
There were no plugs near mirrors for my girlfriend getting ready for our friends wedding. Or a full length mirror at all anywhere. Assuming many wedding guests must stay here and a lot of people get married at Cowdry House, I would have thought that this venue would hone in on those guests’ needs in particular.
Apart from the above the overall appeal of the property wasn’t value for money - I have stayed in a lot nicer bigger places for the same money.

Beautiful views lovely little lodge
They sent me the wrong pin so we was locked out for an hour. Called the one of the numbers given 2 but wasn't helpful at all. Lovely security guy helped us in. Hot water runs out before the bath is full. Also very busy noisy road right outside the lodge which isn't mentioned in description hard to get to sleep with the noise. Clubhouse meant to serve food until 1800 but stopped both nights at 1630. No where to park as the all the golfers park in the car park taking up all the space.

Great views. The staff were kind. Loved the self check in and having the lounge with a tv for comfort after walking.
We had two rooms my daughter’s room had a terrible smell and we think it was damp, that had just been painted over.
The rooms didn’t have dressing tables to do our hair/make up - that is something every woman wants and I thought was a given. I had to do my hair sitting on the floor.

Efficient staff and clean room

Comfortable rooms. Very clean.
Staff on duty for breakfast were excellent.
Excellent breakfast.
No food or drink available in the evening
Lodges are only a short distance from a very busy and noisy main road.

The rooms was small but very nicely decorated and had a lovely bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. The breakfast was served in the nearby Golf club (a few minutes walk) and had a good selection, however it was served between 7.30-9.30 which we thought was very early for a weekend however it was delicious and service was great. There was no food served after 6pm as it was a Sunday but we walked to the local pub (The White House) where it was pizza evening so all good!
The mattress and pillows on the bed could really do with a upgrade, as it was slightly dipping in the middle and pillows quite flat - a easy fix to make this room better!

Needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting family locally and this was perfect. Communication via email beforehand was clear about how to gain access with simple instructions etc, and how to get breakfast the following morning. Property was in a fabulous location with views over polo lawns and down to the Midhurst ruins.
A fridge to keep fresh milk cold would have been good (we never arrive anywhere with a pint of fresh milk for tea!)

We stayed in the polo suite the night before my wedding ! It was Perfect. The bed was so comfortable , breakfast was really good too ! Really lovely stay ! Not loud at all with traffic ! ( I did have a fan on ) very happy and would return .
The cold taps are hot , no cold water at all in our room .

Lovely bathrooms with a great shower.
The Cowdray estate is a Beautiful setting, however, the lodges have huge hedges right outside the windows, so there is no view and the rooms are dark, quite misleading when looking at the website. The lodge rooms are set on a busy main road and so suffer road noise.
The breakfast was VERY sub standard. The filter coffee was very weak, so we ordered Americanos from the bar, got charged over £6 for another weak coffee. They had run out of brown bread….not good enough when they have their own farm shop on the estate. The tomatoes were tasteless and the hash browns frozen, basically a bog standard greasy spoon could do better, so disappointing when they have wonderful produce on their estate.

The bed was very comfortable.
The room (lodge 1) was facing the road and even with a white noise machine and fan on, the noise from the cars on the road still kept us up. The room smelled strongly of mould. We could clearly hear the activities of other lodge guests, like the water running when they used the loo or shower. The cooked portion of the breakfast was good but there was no fruit or yoghurt on offer which was disappointing.

beautiful location & rooms
4.1
The location of the lodge is beautiful, the breakfast was good and hearty. The room was simple and had a well heated bathroom with a hot water and a medium to large shower cubical.
The walls of the room where thin (only loud noises could be heard) and the door leaked light into the room. The bed was just a bit too soft.

Breakfast was superb. Beautiful food and attractively served
I didn't realise I needed a key code so getting into the room was challenging
4.1
Peaceful place to stay. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. A good selection of food for breakfast. The night we stayed was cold but the room was lovely and warm, very cosy.
Two chairs in the room would have been better. Why, when there are two people sharing a room do hotels and guest houses only provide just one chair??

Access was straightforward and room was very clean and modern. Beautiful location! Breakfast was amazing. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay and for your flexibility due to the wedding we were attending.
We could hear the cars on the main road early in the morning but that couldn't be helped.

All in all fine. Room much smaller than expected. We stayed just one night so was ok but would have been different if staying more than that. Breakfast was fine and location good for Midhurst and Petworth.

location
There was a mixup with the room number. on my paperwork I was alloyed a room and given the passcode for the key. A staff person entered my room and said there had been a mixup. As I was in the bathroom I was taken by surprise. I could have made a complaint but as it was Christmas I just wanted a quiet time.
4.1
Well presented, clean, comfortable room. 24 hour check in was helpful.
No desk in room although advertised, patchy wi-fi. Clubhouse closed early. Phone line to discuss issues did not return call.
