The staff were polite and friendly. Great view from our room. Room was comfortable and toasty warm when we arrived. We had dinner in the restaurant and staff were helpful and polite. Meal was lovely! Breakfast was fine although the scrambled egg was only warm.
Workmen on Monday morning entered our room using a keycard and did not knock! Spoke to reception who were very apologetic and discounted our evening meal as an apology.

It's not far to walk in to the village
When you're paying nearly £800 for 2 nights u shouldn't have to pay for parking which was £30 for 2 night s

Great location, and great view from the room and the garden, as it is overlooking the whole lake.
The staff were so helpful. There is an available parking in the property.
Nothing to be mentioned.

I liked the location.
The receptionist during checking in she was explaining to her college how to use the system and left me standing for a while when I asked her is this the reception she replied I am training me college, please wait foe a while.
The room I reserved is garden view & unfortunately the room was overlooking a wall “usual thing for Booking.com rooms”

Situation excellent.
Restaurant food presentation looked good.
Parking great but not cheap.
Room comfy, but up and down a lot of steps.
My partner and I didn't like the food poisoning we got on our last evening from eating a chicken dinner in the restaurant. We both had the same main course and no other significant meal during the day. 3 hours later we both had non-stop vomiting and diarrhea for several hours. Not easy to manage in a hotel room. Unable to book out until late the following afternoon.
The staff were sympathetic in the circumstances and made no attempt to eject us by the 11:00 am checkout time. They let us keep the room until we were fit to travel.
Room servicing generally was hit and miss, mainly miss.

Staff generally helpful and friendly. Food average for four star hotel.
Excellent location.
This is our third two day stay in recent years. We were surprised to be told that there was a daily car parking charge of £15 for residents.
The general appearance of the hotel is tired and our bedroom number 68 was down at heel with peeling wallpaper and stains on carpets. Occasional furniture in bedroom stained.
Overheated corridor with full on radiator under open window.
Lift is exceptionally elderly and very small.

Nothing
From arrival to departure, our experience was utterly disappointing. Despite the check-in time being listed as 3:00 PM, we arrived five minutes early at 2:55 PM only to find the hotel parking lot completely full. After a frustrating 20-minute wait, we managed to park and proceeded to the reception. To our dismay, we faced an additional 15-minute wait to reach the reception desk, where we were informed at 3:30 PM that our room was still not ready. We were advised to wait in the lobby bar, but even after waiting until 4:00 PM, no one notified us that our room was available. We had to return to the reception to check on the status ourselves and were finally told that our room was ready.
The room was a greater disappointment. It was a small, dark space covered in cobwebs with a dismal view of the backyard. We specifically paid extra for a “Classic” room, assuming it would be more spacious and comfortable as described on the website. Instead, it hardly resembled the “larger than standart” advertised. The staff’s response to our complaints was indifferent; they insisted that we had indeed been assigned the correct room and mentioned even smaller “Cozy” rooms on the premises, which is hard to imagine. This room was more suited for storage than for accommodating guests, especially considering the high price we paid per night.
Furthermore, the room’s floor was creaky, and the insulation was poor, resulting in a noisy night with incessant sounds of banging from the room above and the loud operation of doors and taps, alongside disturbances from the building’s duct system. The breakfast offerings were meager, and the coffee cups were unclean.
Overall, this hotel was a massive letdown. I would give it zero stars if possible. If this is your last resort for a stay in Bowness-on-Windermere, I strongly advise looking elsewhere!

The building was once beautiful but it’s very tired and in parts dirty …the paint jobs are really sloppy around windows and dado rails …the bathroom in our room was ridiculously small and mirror was dirty ..15 pound for parking is a total rip of …stayed at hotels in Windermere that don’t charge for parking …no welcome pack in room ..wall light not secure to wall loose ….think it’s really needs an uplift and cooked breakfast was not great ..eggs undercooked and veggie sausage was awful ..hash brownie overcooked …was so disappointed..

Room was massive with a large bathroom. Location was next to all the ferries. Staff were excellent. Views from restaurant were stunning. There were big relaxing rooms off the bar with sumptuous couches. Very relaxing.
A small thing, bin in bathroom needed replaced and there could have been a few more hangers in the wardrobe.

Great location.
Staff is not friendly. We booked the room with lake view but the room that we got half of the view is the metal sheet roof . The hair dryer is very old and dirty and sticky.
The basin is leaking. The hotel did not refill croissaint in the buffet line when we asked for it. The bathroom anemities that the hotel provide in the room was very limited. Not worth for money.

The hotel was beautiful inside and out, breakfast was really lovely and the staff very helpful.
We were in room 77 ..it was boiling hot a fan was provided but didn't make any difference, only 1 window would open about 3 inches the other window wouldn't open. By 4am my husband gave up and slept the rest of the night in the car...the bedding had not been changed after the previous people as there was makeup on the pillowslip and inside of quilt cover. I did report this to the gentleman at reception who gave me the email address to complain ...I wrote over a week ago but have had no response whatsoever so I can only presume its no big deal to charge £ 250 a night for the privilege of sleeping in a dirty bed! Very dissapointed 😞
