About this house rental
Take a break, relax and enjoy our wonderful country farmhouse. Decompress with15 acres of serenity....all to yourself! Restful country retreat located in the beautiful Cougar Gulch area. 15 acre farmhouse with rolling meadows, fruit trees and amazing Mountain Views. If you ever wanted to know what farm life could be like, here is your chance without the work! Instead of rushing cars and planes flying overhead, you'll hear the sounds of song birds, coyotes and moose harkening in the distance. Wake up and enjoy coffee and watch deer grazing in the fields and finish it by watching the sun set over the mountains while or enjoy a hot toddy by the fireplace! This three bedroom plus, plus has an additional romp room which sleeps at least three more with three additional beds, in the large family room upstairs. Two huge living rooms downstairs to accommodate family gatherings. 15 beautiful minutes to Coeur d’Alene yet far enough to to relax and Brest the fresh mountain air. Bring the family and stretch out and watch the wildlife and enjoy fresh apples, plums, pears and raspberries when in season. Pick fresh Cherries and lavender in the summer and the ideal spot for bird watchers as well. The ultimate family vacation to reconnect, recharge and experience nature at its best.

The property and location of the home was wonderful. Very quiet, beautiful trees plus lots of open space to explore and enjoy. Well maintained grounds. We were able to enjoy our dinner outside every evening as the weather was lovely.
The rooms in the house were large and offered plenty of seating plus areas where smaller groups could gather easily. The bedrooms worked out fine for our configuration.
The home is also an easy drive to Couer d'Alene and to many nice hiking trails and swimming opportunities, all of which we enjoyed.

This was the perfect place for our family vacation. Close to all the things we wanted to do but not too close! We loved the wide open spaces around us and gathering back “at home” after our adventures for the day.

The place was awesome - plenty of space, cool enough (despite the heat), lots of animals: deer, turkeys, quail, squirrels, cats, even an elk and a porcupine.
The home itself was comfortable, plenty of supplies in the kitchen, the beds were nice. I even started reading one of the books in the library (didn't finish, so then I had to buy my own copy...)

What a wonderful spot for our family vacation! So much room and privacy. The view is spectacular! The children loved watching the abundant wildlife and so much enjoyed playing outside and walks with Papa and Gramma! Our time together was filled with memories that will last a lifetime! THANK YOU!

We loved this farmhouse. Older house with extensive remodeling and well maintained. Total privacy on this acreage. The setting was beautiful. Lots of room inside and many beds. Kitchen fully supplied. Oven not great. Evenings on the deck with BBQ and hot tub were perfect. Short 13 minute drive to downtown Couer d’Alene was not an issue with the beautiful country road. The bonus was the deer, porcupine, quail, moose, and song birds. I would be happy to stay again on this delightful property.

Farm House Stay
This was a beautiful location for a getaway with my family. My kids (9 and 11) loved roaming the pastures and seeing the deer on the property! The house was fully stocked and came with a wonderful welcome basket as well! The owners were very responsive and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful vacation to Idaho!

Great escape in Fall!
Our family had a wonderful time here. The house is large and had everything we could've needed. The two living rooms would be good for a larger group of 2 families as well. The location to downtown was great. The property itself is amazing, you really get the feel of and old homestead and it provided a great escape for us. The fall colors were in full bloom with commanding mountain views so we couldn't have asked for a better way to get a real fall experience. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had, we'd definitely return!

The house was beautiful and was exactly as advertised! The family loved the tub. The cherry tree had cherries on it, so I indulged in a few. Overall, we were very pleased!

15 acres of relaxation!
Beautiful, serene farm on a hill. We played board games on the picnic table and watched the deer in the fields. My kids loved running around and collecting pine cones. Well-stocked indoors with a washer/dryer to make things easy for a large family. What a wonderful stay!

Peaceful farmhouse with wildlife visitors
We stayed 2 weeks at the farmhouse and were visited by deer, elk and coyotes on the back pastures. We also encountered a moose at the marsh heading into the property. Us and our 2 dogs loved the room to roam on the property and the many nearby hiking trails to explore.
The wood fireplace was great for warming up and relaxing in the evenings, as was the Jacuzzi, and the kitchen was fully stocked to accommodate family meals. The internet met remote work needs, although it was hard to work with some much nature to experience at the farmhouse and in the area.
Thank you for an amazing rental, it's on the top of our list for future visits. :)

A Beautiful Oasis
This home was perfect for an extended stay for our family. The setting is perfect for relaxation. The hot tub was a wonderful way to unwind each night and the wood stove kept the house so warm. There is enough space for everyone (8 in our party) and the kids loved the romp space. The house is perfectly out in the middle of nowhere yet very close to yummy restaurants and a gym we went to every other day. There was a hiccup and the hosts went above and beyond solving the problem in a quick mamner. The Wifi was fast enough to do both online school and work remotely from the home. We hope to rent here again soon!

Although it was just the two of us I could see a family or a group of friends getting together enjoying the deck the beautiful setting - eating and hanging out - see and hear the wildlife, just a great place and close to downtown - we had a great time and would stay again !

Incredible experience
This property is amazing and it’s exactly as advertised. The home is completely stocked with the common necessities and everything worked as expected. Communicating with Chandra was a pleasure; she was so easy to work with. The property is perfect for families as there is lots of space for the kids to explore and run around (when you’re taking a break from the lake). No complaints at all, we will absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful quiet farm
Not too far from the city. We loved our stay at the farmhouse. The house was big and the hot tub was perfect. My wife and I walked to the top of the hill to drink our coffee and the view was beautiful. Cant wait to go back.

Peaceful Beautiful Views
We had a wonderful week long stay at Gilmore Farms. We were in town for a family wedding and it was a spacious, well appointed property to visit with extended family members. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking full meals, beds were quite comfortable and there were lots of places for visiting and our nightly poker game. The deck and bbq was also a nice gathering place for outdoor games and entertainment.
The owners were extremely responsive when we had a minor issue and it was resolved quickly. Great property and experience.

Country Living, Close To Town
This is one of the most relaxing vacations I can remember. We stayed for an extended time, 4 weeks early in the season - much longer than normal for us. This allowed us to truly “make ourselves at home”.
This property is all about the setting, in the Cougar Gulch community. Peace and quiet, surrounded by nature. So many birds. The house is basic, but that might add to the experience as rustic and relaxed, homey. Post Falls is 10 minutes one direction. Coeur d’Alene is 7 minutes the other. Convenient, considering how isolated you feel once inside the property gate - fill your senses with nature.
Communication with the owner before, during and after was prompt and courteous. She was very fair with the price and respectful of our large family situation. The grocery basics were provided at check in, until we could stock up. Nice little check in goodies and gifts waited for us upon entry. The gardener takes care of the extensive lawn weekly. There is no garbage pickup in the gulch area, so it must be taken to a central dump facility which is free and easily accessible - 10 minutes away.
This is a place to relax and unwind. We enjoyed climbing the hill and just viewing the valley in silence. It is also close enough to everything that you won’t miss out on activities in town.
I really recommend this place highly. As I said, I have had many vacations over the years, this one ranks as the most memorable and relaxing of them all.

An incredible property - absolutely loved our stay!
Truly one of the nicest and most interesting properties we've stayed in - a wonderful, very large, nicely furnished, light and airy home set on private, very peaceful farm land with evergreen forest views and beautiful sunsets. We wanted to be close to city for shopping and lake fun which it was - 10 minutes to Coeur D Alene through a beautiful forest. The home is enormous with three bedrooms and a fourth large, open, four bedded room - comfortable mattresses and all very clean and beautifully furnished. Could easily accommodate a family reunion. The large entire first floor has a plank wood and tiled flooring, a wonderful, large kitchen fully furnished with appliances, an abundance of kitchen tools and linens plus washer and dryer. Also on first floor a comfortable huge dining room with beautiful table & chairs, sofa & large flat screen TV plus a large family room with large flat screen TV, sofa and love seat plus extra chairs and interesting farmhouse antiques. One very nice bedroom and bathroom on first floor. The large deck off the family room is furnished with a nice, covered hot tub, very large BBQ, table and chairs plus wonderful view of the forested mountains and an occasional deer. The upstairs has second family room with TV and three nicely furnished bedrooms (carpeted) and bathroom. Bathrooms were clean and well furnished. Walking the farm land was fun and we enjoyed the apple, pear, and plum trees and the occasional views of the goat herd on the neighbor farm. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating when we had questions but also gave us total privacy during our stay which was very appreciated. We look forward to returning soon. PS. Our dogs enjoyed their stay also. We did keep them leased and with us always when outdoors as we once heard far off coyotes howling at night and with all the open surrounding farm and forest land it would be easy for pets to wander away and get lost.
