This is a beautiful little property within a 10 minute walk from Cork city centre. The location is perfect and felt safe. The flat is comfortable.
The owner needs to pay attention to detail. On approach the outside of the property is a little grubby. There was debris in the kitchen sink from the previous guests and a well used scourer sat at the side of the sink, albeit there was no washing up liquid. It was great having a potato masher in the kitchen (!), however, there was only one coffee pod for the coffee machine and no milk. We bought plastic cups as the glasses in the cupboard didn't seem clean. The shower was a little grubby, the grouting could do with some bleach. And like some of the other guests we ran out of toilet roll! On our first night it rained all night and we could hear a drip outside, a blocked gutter maybe? There is a really strong smell of damp as you enter the flat. Some things you can forgive but it got to the stage I did wonder how thorough the cleaning is generally. For the price I paid for the property my expectations were a little higher.

I think for the amount of money the property is per night, more that 2 toilet rolls for 4 people should be available, there is a lovely wicker basket in the bathroom for stocking them. The host did offer to have some delivered but we had to be in the property to receive them, we were out as you would be with such a short space of time to explore. Also I think the property needs to be aired, I appreciate the age and structure, however there was a musty smell around.

We enjoyed the close proximity to the cathedral and knowing the history of the building we were in. The apartment was cute and worked out well for a friend's trip.
I think just a tiny bit or organization, and with the contents of the kitchen cupboards would help. We stayed one only one night so this didn't really bother us.

Nice location, walking distance to town and easy check-in and check-out

The location of the apartment was good. We were a short walk from the city center and an even shorter walk to a small grocery.
I initially asked to check in one hour early, and I was told that was not possible. When we did arrive about 1 1/2 hours after check in time, we did not have any instructions to get into the apartment. I have used booking.com several times and have always had the instructions prior to check in. I called Emma to inform her that we were at the property standing in the cold rain and could't get in. She told me that she had sent the instructions through booking.com and she could not confirm who I was. She said she would not talk to me and hung up on me. I tried calling her back, but she would not answer her phone. She didn't offer any solutions to help my family of four to get into the apartment. She yelled at me and said that I was lying since she had sent the instructions. I ultimately called booking.com and spoke to a representative who sent the information on how to get in to my email. If it was left up to Emma, we would have paid for three nights and not been able to get into the apartment. There may have been an error with booking.com about sending the check in information, but that has never happened with any of my other bookings with them. Emma was not willing to try to help us get into the apartment.. Once we got into the apartment it was roomy, but there were two discarded soda bottles in the cushions of the couch. We also had a large spider on one of the beds one evening. It rains a lot in Cork in December. When it rains, there is a loud drip that can be easily heard in the front bedroom. Luckily, I had ear plugs from my flight. Emma definitely needs to be more understanding and willing to help her guests. I have never had such poor customer service from an apartment or hotel. I did not like being told that I was lying and I wasn't who I said I was. I know she could have asked some questions to confirm my identity.

This could be a nice property if it was maintained and cleaned thoroughly. On arrival - outside light broken, lounge lightbulb needed replacing. Kitchen and bathroom essentials missing. Strong musty smell. Generally damp with black mould on windows, blinds, bathroom grouting, showerhead, brickwork. Radiators full of dust and dirt. Inside of microwave rusty. Freezer door seal split and mouldy. Gutters blocked and overflowing. No extractor fan in bathroom, no towel rails or hooks to dry towels between use !! Spoke to the maintenance person who admitted that he was busy and had not been to the property for months. Post box overflowing which led to a feeling of insecurity. My husband has asthma and found the air uncomfortable even after I had cleaned the mould from the bedroom windows. It was the Jazz festival and no alternative accommodation was available.
Messaged Emma on arrival regarding missing items. She placed a Tesco order for the following morning 8-10, when it hadn't arrived by 11am I messaged Emma to say that we were going out, when she couldn't contact Tesco, she expected me to do it, I asked her to make other arrangements and her message was 'cooperate or leave'... she told me to communicate through Booking.com and barred my number, telling me to 'take a manners lesson'. I was shocked and upset and this had a detrimental effect on our holiday. Tesco eventually delivered 48hrs after arrival but I had already had to buy some toiletries and washing up liquid.

Nice little apartment really interesting place beautiful view of a church steeple
Couldn’t park the car in the get it up the driveway the driveway was too narrow and I having a really hard time with the heating system & The washing machine wasn’t drying

No breakfast at this location.
There wasn't a tv. Had difficulty trying to figure out the washer/dryer. Maybe a typed sheet with instructions would have helped.

Great location. Lovely wee place and would happily stay there again
Bathroom could be done with a wee re-vamp but it was very clean

spacious, and comfortable.
located in a quiet area, next door to the beautiful cathedral.
arrived to find 1/4 of a loo roll for our stay and none of the promised drink/cereals however Emma was brilliant and as soon as we notified her she had a delivery sent within 20 minutes
photos need updated, the outside table and chairs are completely rusted metal, the garden area was a bit of a mess with finished candles and dead plants.
Although cleaners were in and out well before 1.30 we wasn’t allowed to check in or even leave our case before 3pm meaning pulling it around cork all day with us.
Could do with a Tv or Radio, just to break the silence if on a longer stay.

Lovely place. Good facilities. Bed was comfy. Handy for the centre (but not if you have mobility issues). Level access so you could get a taxi if needed.
Needs a deep clean. Floor in Bathroom lethal. No tongs or spatula in kitchen. No tea towels or dish washing tablets.

Location was excellent. Good shower. Comfortable.
Spare blankets would have been appreciated.

You location was perfect, it was right next to the cathedral and about a 2-minute stroll into the city centre.
The property was beautiful and a lot bigger than it shows in the photos. Very comfortable beds, lots of living space and super fast broadband.
We will definitely we back, thanks Emma!
Nothing.

Stunning period property beautifully renovated and decorated. Great quiet location near to city centre with many attractions within walking distance and superb cafes and restaurants close by.
The key code for the lock box was emailed not texted and as we were travelling all day and did not have an internet connection we did not receive the message with the code despite enquiring by both email and text.
Although Emma answered her phone quickly when we phoned after arriving at the property, a reply to our text inquiry would have been appreciated. We also texted to say we had checked out and did not receive a reply.
Parking is particularly tight and I note Cork taxi drivers prefer to pick up and drop off on the main road.

The property is in a great location. Comfy beds.
Customer Service from the owner isn’t great. Dirty underwear was left in the washing machine from a previous guest and black mould forming around the window frames. I kindly pointed this out to the owner who responded “I’ll let the cleaning company know”. No apology. I’ve been a host for many years and wouldn’t respond to a guest that way. I expected better for €220 per night.
Also, be aware that host doesn’t specify anything about check in procedure until a few minutes before your check in time when they send a message through booking.com. I understand why they do this but it would be helpful to say “check your booking.com messages for lockbox code”. When you’re travelling and may not have mobile data, you show up with no idea about check in.
Some small details were missing like shampoo in the bathroom and teabags in the kitchen (I’ve now left some for the next guest!).
Overall, a great apartment but when I pay that amount, I expect greater attention to detail.

Amazing place to stay to celebrate my birthday! Excellent location, adorably furnished. Fit our needs very nicely. Had everything we needed for a lovely stay!
Parking was a bit rough.... especially for us Americans that aren't used to tiny streets/driveways. Arrived at night, and the outside was a bit dark upon arrival.

The name truly reflects what it is - a hidden hideaway so close to Cork City. The accommodation was very comfortable and decorated very nices. The host was very responsive - due to COVID, we had to postpone our trip several times and the host was very accommodating each time.
No dislikes!

It's quaint
The whole place needs to be cleaned properly it definitely wasn't up to standards. The couch smelled so bad we couldn't sit on it. The second bedroom has not got a full-size double bed. No television, not enough towels although the host suggested we buy 1 and she would reimburse us. You can hear upstairs neighbors clearly which wouldn't have bothered us but for the party they had on the Saturday night!! Loved their rendition of Alleluia!!!!!

Great location, very handy for walking into the city. Clean and comfortable. Plenty hot water, Good WiFi. There was a parking space available (not guaranteed) but the space is very tight and requires confidence in a driver!
Just being picky, but being told to help yourself to tea/coffee/breakfast items, but the instant coffee there was old and solidified, and there was only soya milk available. As I say being picky, but I would personally rather expect nothing than some unusable items.

Detail of the interior is fantastic - exposed brickwork throughout and great open plan layout
Location was very handy for local amenities and walking around
Homely and comfortable
Owner extremely responsive to queries and questions
Very close to Alchemy (great coffee shop and homemade food)
Slight niggle was lack of matching glassware for evening drinks, but didn’t detract from the overall experience
