Our neighborhood is essentially a single-family-home hilly cul-de-sac, so it’s very private and safe. It is great for walking, with good lighting and sidewalks, beautiful landscaped yards and views of lake and mountains along the way. You will see all different styles of houses, from early 1920’s to Modern, from middle class family homes to waterfront mansions.
There are a lot of excellent dining options in Northeast Seattle and University Village, and there are several parks and outdoor nature areas nearby.
We are just a short walk to the Laurelhurst Park, which has a round 1.2 mile loop trail walk, tennis courts, playground, sports fields, beautiful mature trees and Community Center; Union Bay Nature Area which has several trails with views of Lake Washington and great bird and possibly animal viewing; and the Yesler Swamp with its recently constructed boardwalk to explore a marshy area where birds and beavers live.
There is plenty of free, unmetered street parking, so having your own car is a good option. In addition, there are several buses nearby. However, please note that the neighborhood is quite hilly and walking to and from the bus stops tends to be up and down hills.
We are about 0.5 miles from Children’s Hospital and it’s an easy flat 10 minute walk.
Walking or Uber or Lyft might be good options to the UW Husky Stadium and the Light Rail station which can take you further - to Downtown, International District or the airport. There are two busses just two blocks away which you can take to the U District and it's Light Rail station in less than 5 minutes.
Uber Jump and Lime Bikes with sun-powered electric assists are parked throughout the neighborhood.
You can drive to Downtown Seattle in about 20 minutes, depending on the traffic (unless it’s rush hour).

Katya was an excellent host - we LOVED staying at this apartment. Beatifully furnished, everything new, spotless, wonderful amenities. Lovely leafy neighborhood. Lovely shared patio (we had all to ourselves) We will return!

This guest suite was just right—with everything that we needed for a lovely stay with our dog in Seattle. The neighborhood is gorgeous and walking friendly, and Katya and Lee were such helpful hosts. We hope to visit again!

Katya’s rental met our needs perfectly. It was incredibly clean, extremely comfortable, and nestled within a beautiful neighborhood. Communication was top-notch, and the property felt like home away from home. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us!

Such a wonderfully calm and peaceful place. The bed & bedding was so wonderful! Wish I could have stayed a few more days just to relax and enjoy the electric fireplace and overall ambience of the place.

This property is exactly as described, but there are a couple of standouts features worth mentioning. The house is immaculately clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. But the best thing was the communication with the host and the clear effort to insure a positive experience.
I'm quite confident we will be back in the future.

I flew in for 3 nights to visit with my son who lives in Seattle. The apartment was so immaculate and had absolutely everything I needed. The host had special touches throughout the place so I felt very welcomed such as warm lighting, peaceful music playing and even a small Christmas tree lit up. I immediately felt so comfortable. The host reached out during my stay to see if I needed anything. The whole experience was very positive. I would highly recommend this apartment!

We stayed here while my son had a very long surgery. It was relaxing and very clean. Being 5 minutes from the hospital allowed us to go somewhere private to eat and rest while still being able to get back quickly for surgical check ins. The host was easy to communicate and checked in on us regularly. Felt like staying with caring but unobtrusive family. 😊
Thank you!!!!

Our host has provided an immaculate, peaceful, well ordered beautiful space with attention to details both inside and out.
My husband and I arrived after dark to a well lit patio entrance. Upon entering we were met with a beautifully lit indoor space and peaceful music playing. The choice of fabric color schemes and tastefully done artwork added to the charm of this garden apartment and everywhere was impeccably clean.
In the kitchen fresh oranges, cinnamon rolls, and other items for a simple breakfast with everything that we needed to enjoy a pleasant coffee was provided. Another thing that I found extremely helpful was the organization of the kitchen, with clearly labeled shelves and drawers, making it so easy to locate items quickly, there was also a binder in the kitchen that had manuals for every single appliance, TV, and various other instructions. I found this extremely helpful and streamlined our ability to use all the amenities.
Katya is an exceptional communicator. From leaving a personalized hand written note upon our arrival, periodically, checking via messaging to make sure our stay was going well, and prompt responses when we had basic questions. Katya went above and beyond in every way to make our stay an amazing experience.
Also the bed was extremely comfortable, with high quality linens and at night there were soft light sensors at the floor level to aid in night time safety.
Book your stay here and be ready for a wonderful experience!

This was our second stay with Katya and Lee and it was just as enjoyable as our first. You can't beat the great neighborhood, the convenient layout of the place, and the central location to all the places and friends in the area we wanted to visit. Katya is a very accommodating host and the place was spotless. The kitchen was well equipped and parking was easy. Also an easy walk to the Burke-Gilman trail and restaurants.

This apartment was perfect for our 5 day stay in Seattle! The apartment was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Both of the beds were very comfortable. We cooked a few meals at the apartment in the well stocked kitchen. Katya was an excellent host and super responsive to all of my questions. She was so thoughtful and provided a continental breakfast for our first morning complete with homemade sticky buns! There are so many activities in the area. We enjoyed hiking and sightseeing in the area. Mt. Rainier was amazing!

I think this is our fourth or fifth time staying here and it never disappoints! Katya is the perfect host! We had a difficult time with the booking process and she intervened and fixed everything. She is super responsive and goes out of her way to problem solve for her guests.
The apartment is gorgeous and has everything you would ever need. I can cook there as if I was in my own kitchen. The whole feel of v her place is “make yourself at home”. The furniture and the bedding are super comfortable and inviting.
Proximity for graduation or sporting events couldn’t be better. We drove down from the neighborhood (about 3 minutes, including a u-turn) and parked on Mary Gates walked alongside the rec field and through the parking lot right to the stadium. No parking fees, no traffic, and maybe a ten minute easy walk. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! (By the way, the weather didn’t cooperate and I was able to run down the hill to the outdoor mall, grab a new outfit and be back to leave for graduation in 35 minutes)
We have stayed in many rentals in various states and this continues to be my favorite! Our son is staying in Washington post-graduation and we hope to enjoy this beautiful home many more times!

Our stay at Laurelhurst was most enjoyable. Our host welcomed us as soon as we arrived and made us feel right at home. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals do to our dietary restrictions. The outdoor patio deck area was a peaceful location to relax. I would recommend this location to my friends and family.

The host quickly responded to anything we needed and welcomed us with a few items to enjoy. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one would need to cook and store leftover food. Our apartment is nestled near the shores of Lake Washington and was very comfortable and private for my husband and me. The surrounding residential neighborhood is gorgeous and lovely to walk through. Our daughter attends UW, which is five minutes from the apartment - a perk! The apartment is well stocked and well maintained. It is located in a nice residential neighborhood. The host is great with communication. The only downside is the 24 steps from the street to the apartment can present a challenge for guests with mobility issue.

This VRBO was perfect! My mom, sister and I brought my daughter down to Seattle for surgery, and Katya was our saving grace. We originally booked for one week, but my daughter had to be readmitted. Katya was so great and extended our stay with no notice as long as she had availability. We checked out today after 2.5 weeks, but there is no doubt for any future trips to Seattle, we will try to book with Katya as soon as possible!
