Great location, as expected for a YHA in terms of facilities, cleanliness etc.
Beds ok comfy, showers clean. Some areas a bit tired but again, as expected for YHA. (And better than most hostels) Kitchen was a good size for self catering and had everything you needed. I didn’t have the breakfast but others did and said it was good.
Aussie man on reception was very friendly and gave us a great welcome.
WiFi was rubbish

The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The food was delicious. And the facilities were great for the price. Really impressed, will stay again.

Great location.
Shower was not hot one evening. We wanted to eat in the hostel one night, but unfortunately the chef was off sick.

property, facilities and staff all wonderful. location was perfect for us
only downside was the breakfast which was poor. cold, undercooked and - criminally - soggy hash brown’s. we decided not to bother with it after the first morning.

breakfast was very tasty.

Lovely small hostel in a beautiful location. A classic old mansion very well converted. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff.
Not much. Plumbing in the kitchen needs fixing. Warm water out of the water bottle refill station not a pleasant surprise.

People who work is pleasant. Nice and smiling.
Room door handle was broken. Floor carpets not really clean.Room they gave it to me had a big patch on the carpet. On the website said the breakfast is 6.99£.End up in paying about £9.But the breakfast is good.

getting home!
the yha itself was ok and pretty good for hikers , however what booking.com didn't mention is that there are absolutely no facilities food wise or entertainment wise for the kids the games room is bare and the kitchens out of bounds, we took 3 kids and loads of food we thought we'd be able to cook this all got wasted , the place doesn't compensate for the lack of facilities by offering a menu or food choice there's a pizza or meatballs that is it and the price is extortionate . the wifis appalling in the rooms. This place is quite far from anywhere its ideal for hikes however for family's its a big fat no. we went to the yha Whitby the following week , at least this time we knew what to expect facility wise and we was ok infact fantastic because we were nearby to whitby port and there where plenty to feed 3 hungry kids..... I get covid 19 rules n that but come on booking.com at least let people know you aint even got access to a bloody kettle

It got a bit crazy with unruley kids at one point in the lounge.
