Meals and breakfast good. Staff lovely and helpful.
The layout off room, only a foot from the wall on one side off the bed not enough space for able bodied person to manoeuvre never mind anyone less able.
Shower an actual hazard as mixer tap type high risk of serious burns.

Great location for Ben Vrackie climb.
Great breakfast.
Other walks from the door.
Quiet. Nice lounge area.
Couldn’t get a snack in the bar. Had to have either a starter or a main meal.
4.5
Did not have breakfast
Needs easier to find or more outlets in the rooms. Very sticky table tops in the bar, because of all the disinfecting.

Lovely stay at the cottage, pictures online don't do it justice! Will definitely be returning. Staff were lovely....even helped us out getting our morning coffee as we failed to pack ours!

Size of room.
Location.
Ambience.
Character
Bedroom (9) was supposed to be a 'Superior' room, but was really just a 'family' room with 2 beds. Window frames needed a good clean and a fresh coat of paint. We have period sash and case windows in our own property and aware they take more maintenance, but the ones in room 9 need attention.

old coaching house full of character inside and out.
amazing creaking property
how could you not like anything
4.5
location and we were surprised by the size of the cottage - 5 adults and a dog and ample space.
The crockery and glassware was all mismatched and aesthetically this could have been better.

could have been cleaner rooms mostly bathrooms and slightly dated decor.

We were in lilac cottage. When we went for evening meal in bar and asked about breakfast we were told NO TABLES.
Did not feel very welcome. When we arrived and could not work boiler we went to the main building for help.
When we asked girl on reception she went through the back and we heard in a loud voice O FOR FUCKS SAKE !!
We also felt the older couple in the bar at meal were under pressure and not very friendly.

Lovely old hotel with atmospheric bar. Accommodation comfortable and public lounge suitable for relaxing. Varied menu in bar with some imaginative meals.
Bar area very controlled, had to sit at table instead of seeing all the drinks available behind the bar!

Lovely service. Responded to particular needs with lightness that was impressive. Coffee and digestifs in lounge. Delightful location. Delicious ales, particularly honeyed stout. Staff with humour and character. Hearty, tasty food. Interesting dishes that are not afraid to be simply downright tasty. Pork chops with caramelly grill lines, cider gravy and chips! Huge meaty pies. Good range of dishes catering for all tastes.
Great characterful venue, generous to a fault. Tempting desserts (whisky pud) impossible to sample because ample starter and main made succumbing impossible! Super local produce. Cheese held promise but even trencher-woman such as myself unable to contemplate thanks to earlier deliciousness! Previous reviews said portions a touch small. Unbelievable! I'd advocate reducing portions to leave room for cheese!

beer garden was pleasant. lounge was comfortable.
pub had no atmosphere, early closing even for guests. Everything shut down by 10:30pm.
