About this house rental
Welcome to Three Rivers - gateway to Sequoia National Park! This is the perfect time to escape from the city for a few days and spend some quiet time visiting the magnificent giant trees.
The Blue Oak Bungalow is nestled in the peaceful Alta Acres neighborhood of Three Rivers, only 3 miles from Sequoia National Park. The property is made up of 2 parts; the main house and a cozy detached studio just a couple of steps away. Built in 1956, this charming home masterfully combines the classic architecture from that era with a colorful modern flare that creates the perfect balance of old & new. The owner has lovingly restored, refurnished and redecorated the home with your comfort and enjoyment as a priority. Add to that the fact that he chose a manager whose houses have been voted "Best Vacation Home in Kaweah Country" for five years in a row, and you have the makings for a perfect experience.
The main house opens into a brilliant living room featuring floor to ceiling windows showcasing the Sierra Nevada mountains. You'll find lots of comfy seating, a woodstove, large screen smart TV and amazing local artwork adorning the walls. The open floor plan includes a dining table that will seat six and a full kitchen complete with a gas oven & stovetop, new refrigerator/freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, blender, cookware, dinnerware...you name it. The bedroom contains a brand new Cal King bed, large mirrored closet and a view of the garden and mountain peaks of Sequoia National Park. The bathroom features a wonderful claw foot bathtub with shower curtain enclosure, mirrored vanity, plenty of room, and towel sets for everyone. The temperature of the house can easily be controlled by a Nest thermostat. No matter how hot or cold it is outside, you will be very comfortable inside.
The adjacent studio (just a couple of steps away) is perfect for those in your party that prefer a bit more privacy. Inside you will find a bedroom with a new Cal King bed, outstanding views of the great outdoors, coffee service, mini fridge, big closet, cabinets for your storage and a full bathroom with tub/shower. We provide a double bed size Memory Foam fold-out mattress with linens if you need additional sleeping space in the studio. The studio's climate is controlled by a ductless mini-split offering both heating & cooling in an efficient and quiet manner.
We happily provide unlimited hi-speed internet (Spectrum approx 75Mbps download speed) for our guests who like to stay connected or are on a working vacation. The smart television is not connected to cable or satellite, but does offer Netflix and guests are welcome to access their own accounts as well (don't forget to bring your password).
The front garden is a cornucopia of colorful plants and fun seating areas. A propane BBQ grill is provided.
The town of Three Rivers, population under 3,000, has its own elementary school, several churches, hotels, gas stations, grocery stores, cool restaurants, a brewery, hardware store, a bank, and a handful of unique stores offering local arts & crafts. The town's boundary runs right up to the park entrance so you can't get any closer to Sequoia than Three Rivers if you are looking for convenient lodging while exploring the giant sequoias.
Come, be our guest at the Blue Oak Bungalow where you will feel the warmth of our hospitality, and the memories you take home will be enhanced by your stay in our little neck of the woods.
If you are traveling with four-legged family members, we do welcome them but ask that you follow the guidelines explained in the "Pet Addendum" portion of our Rental Agreement.

We loved Blue Oak Cottage. The decor was lovely and the set up was perfect for adults who wanted to be together yet wanted privacy as well. There is a lovely clawfoot tub that is kind of a big step to get into so if there are any disabilities that could be a challenge but there was a bathtub mat for slippage. Loved seeing the family of deer walk by.

Excellent place all-around: comfortable, scenic view from backyard, good internet, cute visiting wildlife, Only issue was extra-hot July 109deg outdoor temps made interior too hot, A/C couldn’t cool house down until midnight on 1st night. We highly recommend in any other weather.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the Fourth of July to do some hiking in Sequoia and King’s Canyon. The house is in a great location, with easy access to the park as well as Three Rivers dining. It was spotless and well stocked with blankets, cookware, and everything else we needed. The beds were very comfortable as well. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay while visiting Sequoia National Park. The house is in a great location for getting to the park. The house is great. Very comfortable. We had everything we needed. We did not utilize the detached room, but walked over to check it out. It was very nice.
The views are beautiful from the back yard and there are lots of interesting plants. We watched a turkey walk through the back yard one evening and a deer across the street the next day. So cool!
Our host left loaf of fresh baked bread which was delicious and so very thoughtful. What a lovely personal touch!
We highly recommend staying here.

Robin is a great host. Her property is decorated well, spacious, and has a nice outdoor area. It’s near a nice town that has good coffee and food, right on the river. Our stay was great.
The home has many windows, and privacy so that no one can see in. Something to note is that there are some windows that have no blinds. You will likely wake up with the sun if you do not have an eye mask.
I would definitely stay here again.

Blue Oak Bungalow was a delightful place to stay for four nights with friends. It was within 8 minutes of the Ash Mountain entrance to SNP. The property is somewhat secluded on a quiet residential street. The landscape and terrain had several different seating areas with their own personality for our enjoyment. The separate cottage gave both couples privacy and the cabin was a welcoming community area for meals, games and entertainment.
Robin was very responsive through text communication and gracious with our unexpected needs. She welcomed us with freshly baked bread and thoughtful welcoming touches. We would return here in a minute if visiting the area again in the future.

This home is so beautiful. The decor is very classy. We didn’t worry about breaking things the whole time. Homemade bread waiting for us was so so nice. We used the bread for a few days even. Nice amenities and consumables for us to use. The cottage as a separate space was really nice. The outside space had a lot of different options. Beautiful views. Even wild turkeys wandering the property. Very close to Sequoia Ntl Park.

My sister, brother-in-law and I greatly enjoyed our stay with Robin. The house and cottage were clean, welcoming and comfortable. We greatly appreciated the fresh bread waiting for us, the turkey visitors, and loved the artwork on display! It was a perfect location as a base for exploring Sequoia National Park and we loved our hikes - particularly Little Baldy, Moro Rock and the Congress Trail.

Robin was a wonderful hostess. The house feels like a home away from home. We saw so many neighborhood animals throughout our stay, turkeys, cats, birds. The location is very close to the national park entrance and shops in town.

We LOVED Our stay at Robin’s sweet Sequoia home — it was the perfect home base for us to explore the surrounding nature and have a place that felt comfortable and cozy to return to each night. Everything was super clean, the beds were very comfortable, and there were lots of nice touches, including puzzles, games, and even freshly baked bread. Would definitely stay here again!

The house was perfect for our family of 6. Neighborhood was friendly and welcomed us as we took our daily walks. The house had everything we needed for cooking our meals. Robin was available to answer any questions we had. In fact she also shared restaurants with specials. The location was perfect for our visits to Sequoia, only a few miles away. We will for sure rent the house on our next visit to Sequoia.

This property is a total diamond in the rough. It is perfectly placed to view Mono Rock and a short drive into the National Park. Another beautiful spot to visit from here is Split Rock, short drive 10 minutes or less. The host property manager was perfect in all aspects of the ordeal. We came in from car from Kansas!! Definity would come back :)

We were in heaven staying at the Blue Oak Bungalow! Robin had fresh bread for us upon self check in and we easily settled into our cozy home away from home. Beautiful views of the snow dusted peaks in the distance and many different species of birds enjoying the yard out of the living room wall of windows. We saw a huge flock of wild turkeys! We also took our dog on a lovely nearby hike called Salt Creek. Overall, we started the new year off in comfort.

We enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage near the entrance of Sequoia National Park.
The house was everything we had hoped for and even more. Set in a quiet neighborhood, we enjoyed the variety of wildlife that visited the back yard. The wild turkeys and quail were entertaining to watch.
Our host, Robin, was wonderful at communicating and even left a light on when she found out we would be arriving late. The fresh baked bread was a special touch and was greatly appreciated.

We had a really nice visit here. The rooms were spacious, everything was well stocked, Robin was really easy to communicate with. The only thing that was perhaps not ideal was that the outdoor area felt very exposed, but perhaps that is the time of year and it may have been more private in the spring/early summer.

This cottage was absolutely wonderful for our trip to see the sequoia trees! Robin was so nice and easy to communicate with. The property is beautiful and full of wildlife! We saw a whole family of quail in the evenings and a flock of turkeys often frequented the property as well. The evenings were beautiful in the backyard and you can hear the river flowing in the distance. Highly recommend staying here for you visit to Three Rivers and Sequoia!

Gateway to Sequoia/Kings Canyon National Parks, this was the perfect place to stay. Robin is a superb host, baking bread for our arrival and greeting us warmly. The home is spacious, clean and well appointed. Robin provides "starter supplies" like some coffee, spices and many other things. What's unique about this property is that the two bedrooms are in separate buildings, each with its own bathroom. The grounds are lovely, with multiple places to relax, read, enjoy the daytime heat or evening cool. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Robin is a great host. The booking, payment, check-in and check-out were all easy and smooth. The extra details Robin provided to us were much appreciated. They did put a smile on my face.
The house is centrally located. It is convenient for visiting the two national parks near by. We were able to enjoy breakfast everyday before heading out for our excursion. Thanks to Robin's delicious bread. It certainly made our stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend the Blue Oak Bungalow to anyone who is planning to visit Sequoia National Park.

This is one of the best run vacation rentals our family has had the pleasure of staying in. Fresh baked bread upon arrival, great communication with the host in a beautifully decorated space. Close to a small town with good options for eating just outside of Sequoia National Park. Incredible stay for our family of five!

Our stay was wonderful at this adorable home! It was just as pictured, and set in a beautiful area. There were wild turkeys, quails and deer roaming nearby and the sound of the river was soothing at night. The main house and the studio were incredibly clean and comfortable (with great air conditioning which we appreciated with triple digit temperatures). Robin’s fresh loaf of homemade bread was a lovely touch on arrival. Definitely recommend this sweet place for a family vacation!

We loved this little cottage. It was the perfect situation for my family of 4. My college girls loved having the little studio for some privacy. It had great light and lovely decor (inside and out). I have never stayed somewhere so clean and well-maintained. It exceeded expectations. The host was very welcoming and we enjoyed the fresh bread provided at arrival.

Perfect location for exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks! Three Rivers is a cute little town with all your needs down the street. Robin was an exceptional host in leaving us fresh baked bread and contacting us the day before to let us know we could check in early if needed. We couldn’t have asked for a better home for our family, giving our family adequate privacy and space to retreat to after long days in the car together. The outdoor space was simply the best to watch the wildlife and listen to the river flow by preparing for a relaxing nights sleep in a comfy bed. Would love to return to this home and have already recommended to family and friends. Thanks for a fantastic stay, Robin!
