Very comfortable for resting and catching up with family members.
All our family loved the house. My son did take a cold shower when he decided he wasn’t going to get hot water on the third floor.. It took a while on the 2nd floor.

4 adults and 4 children/3 of them teens stayed here for one night on our way to Yellowstone. We went to a KC Royals game and enjoyed every minute. The boys could have stayed here for a week! Love the history and location to ball field!

Our stay was very comfortable in this beautiful home! The home felt “like home” with more than enough amenities for our group of six adults. The location was perfect: walkability to downtown Independence and short drives to the baseball stadium and museums in Kansas City.

The house was perfect for our family. We came to KC for a concert. The location was 10 minutes away from Arrowhead. The house was immaculate and check in process was very easy! Will definitely stay again!

This property exceeded our expectations! Everything was clean and well appointed. The beds were comfortable, the multiple floors created a quiet cozy environment, and the porch and trellised grapevines created a charming ambience for mornings on the porch sipping coffee! We loved our time here!

Unable to contact host after code had not been updated. Took two hours to enter property. House reeked of weed use. Apology note for status of house had been left by housekeeper. We went to a hotel. Terrible start to our daughter’s wedding weekend.

Beautiful house, very comfortable and impressive. We really enjoyed our stay. We hope to come back.

There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our extended family group. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the property which allowed children to be entertained separately from the adults who also had ample space to interact with each other.

This home is beautiful. It is updated and clean. It is in a great area and had everything we needed. I only wish our stay was longer, it is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed in. We would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Five of us had a fun girls' weekend in KC, and spent one night in this beautiful home. It was spotless (high on our list!), and met our every need. We loved having a reclining seat for each of us in the well appointed family room area in the basement.

It was great! The house was perfect for our trip to KC

Very beautiful home. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and 5 kids to either be together or have your own space. The owner was very accommodating when we had an unexpected change of plans and helped us reschedule. We would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect for our group who came to Kansas City for a conference. There was plenty of space and adorable touches in the house, lots of parking, many towels and necessities. I will warn prospective guests that the neighborhood felt a little seedy at times - not somewhere we felt comfortable going for runs, walking around at night, etc, but if you have cars to make the 17-minute drive into Kansas City, there's no better place to stay for the price and convenience.

We had such a great experience. The owner was great on communication and very accommodating. The house is stunning. We tried to use the recording room but it's not meant for amateur use. So if you have no expiernce don't plan on using it for anything but props. Which for us we weren't letting anything hold us back we still had a great time with it. The wrap around porch was so beautiful even in January. There is so many areas in this house too be enjoyed. The house is huge with plenty of space for big family's. We had a amazing experience and made so many memories in this house. Ty for the great stay.

The house is amazing. We truly enjoyed the space the house offered. The location was only a 20 min drive from all activities we wanted to experience. We saw KC zoo, Chiefs Game, and The plaza. Loved coming back to such a fun house. Thank you.

Lots of space for our group of friends. We came to town for a wedding. Allowed us to stay together in one house, but still have privacy. Lucky for us, it was warm enough to enjoy the porch. Very clean. The guys got to use a recording studio! That was a hit! We struggled a little with the alarm system, but the host was very responsive and quick to help us out. We will stay here again.

We had a great stay in this beautiful home. We were only in town for a short time for a wedding, so didn’t get to have the full experience. Enjoyed time on the front porch together…Thanks!

My family came from NC and Washington state. They stayed for 3 nights in the beautiful house. We had so much fun. We had family slideshow and games in the basement. We had hoped to watch the fireworks but got rained out. We wish we could have stayed longer. The kitchen was fully supplied for cooking wonderful breakfasts and we were able to have a luau and feed everyone in the dining room comfortably. We had 9 people stay in the house but it accommodated 20 of us for our family slide show and games downstairs. Mahalo nui loa, the Hartman - Kapuni Ohana

Their was seven of us (I was the only male so I was thankful for the 5 bathrooms), we had plenty of run to lounge around and playing video games downstairs stairs on the ps5, or playing the piano or sitting around playing board games. The large kitchen made it easy for us to make meals. The place was also clean and the thermostat was already set to 72( who likes to walk into a stuffy house). The neighborhood is pretty decent, you’ll see kids playing outside, cars doing the speed limit, people walking their dogs, just normal stuff. Us adults would hang out on the porch until midnight and felt very safe. But the best part of our trip was when our teenage girls decided to put down their phones and play hide n seek for 2 1/2 hrs in the house.

I planned a get together for my best friend that is newly engaged. Her fiancé lives in Wichita and this was the first time their families meet. The house was perfect for us to spread out and visit while getting to know each other and great place for our out of town guests to stay the night. Everyone thought this house was just beautiful! Very easy check in & checkout process & the VRBO host was great at communicating and welcoming us. Thank you so much!

I hosted a dinner party here for my work team. Great kitchen. Plenty of space for 10. Neighborhood isn’t great… but don’t let that sway you if you plan on staying indoors! Armed with a security system to keep you safe.

House really nice. Just needs a few things like knew pots and pans. Better instructions for the heater. It’s kinda hot upstairs. Oh need a knee guest book. Couldn’t sign. Thanks.

We had a great weekend with two other couples. Plenty of room to spread out and gather together. Located in a great walkable neighborhood.

Our group used all of the available bedrooms and it was absolutely the perfect fit. Plenty of bathrooms and living space. There was music playing in the house when we arrived. That was just lovely and so welcoming! We attended a conference at the Community of Christ Temple across the street and were so pleased with the location. The a/c was a bit of a struggle and the floors could have been cleaned better. We did end up leaving our shoes on in the home(which we are not real comfortable doing) because our socks were getting pretty dirty. I'm sure that cleaning such a large home is difficult, when you're hosting people constantly...but it is something we wanted to comment on. We had a lovely time here and would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We absolutely loved staying at this property. The updates on the beautiful historic house were incredible. The house met our needs and then some. The alarm code thing was a little challenging, but didn’t bother our stay at all. Property manager was great responding to questions and we really enjoyed our weekend stay.

8 of us traveled to the area for The Dodgers vs Royals series . We couldn’t have been more pleased with the house. Very very clean and an amazing house. Will definitely keep this house in mind for future travels

Cool House With Fun Amenities
This house worked great for our four adults staying overnight as well as an evening of family fun for our larger group including kids. Our musical family members loved the musical instruments, grand piano and recording studio (they didn't use the studio but thought it was cool). The little ones loved the basement game area and the lawn as well as the grapes growing on the property. The teens loved the gaming unit. There was plenty of space for everyone and the PORCH was a huge hit! Great place to gather. Nice walking area through the church campus and into the downtown square.

Very clean and comfortable. One of the nicest b&b ‘s we’ve ever stayed in. Perfect for our group of 8 adults (2 kids slept on bean bag). Would highly recommend!

Great spot for a weekend stay or gathering
I booked this stay for a dinner party with friends and we had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and beautiful and the porch was delightful during the summer... Plus, the master bedroom may be the perfect bedroom, very spacious and elegant. The only knocks on the location is the 3rd floor (as it does get very hot up there) and then security code given for the check-in was not the same as the actual code we needed to check in. Not a huge issue since it was resolved, but that could've been more clear.
