The location of this condo is great! You are right next to the beach, the lagoon, Ala Moana Mall, Waikiki Beaches, Friday Night Fireworks!
Manager has good communication. We love staying at the Ilikai.
Ad pictures are nicer than condo. This unit is a little rough and needs some minor updating. Bathroom exhaust vent does not work. Ceiling fan broken. Shower curtain is short and water leaks on to floor.
For the right price, this is still a great condo!

After checking in a day we found several bugs, roaches I think crawling everywhere in the condo, the manager sent someone to fix the issue but the bugs are still there.

We stayed for a week at the end of May 2024 and loved this apartment ! The view from the balcony is beautiful and front row for Friday fireworks. The apartment feels bigger than the photos in the listing make it look and was absolutely spotless on our arrival. We had no problem with the elevators .. they were busy at times as you'd expect but there is also a bathers elevator which is a great backup if you don't want to wait. There are always ubers within 5 minutes of the apartment and plenty of restaurants within walking distance (recommend Goofy's and Gangnam Korean BBQ which are both just outside the front door and also breakfast in Pesca's on the top floor of the building). Beach is an easy walk and the pool is a great place to relax. We were very sad to leave !

Information prior to check in on how the key lock for entry would have been helpful. Ended up contacting the property manager for assistance to get in. More washcloths would also have been appreciated.

The location was perfect for us. Very short walk to the beach and everything you needed was provided. Great view from the balcony of the Hilton luau and Fireworks. The valet was very quick and professional and worth the price for the convenience. The laundry room was convenient.
The host Brad was very responsive and unit was just as described.

The Condo had all of the amenities and was a great spot to lay our heads after a day of beach tours throughout the entire island of Oahu. It was very easy to access by car and the beaches and amenities of the Ilalani are right there at your disposal. Use the Valet, they were very easy and extremely professional for $45 a day it was well worth the spend. The only challenge was an elevator issue that they were dealing with the week we were there. Day 1 was by far the worst but it presented a challenge throughout the entire trip with every owner, renter and hotel guest showing deep frustration. Brad (host) was very accessible and offered every option he could, to support us during our visit. I 100% will stay here again if we come back as a couple. Thank you Brad for your amazing support during a challenge that you had no control of!

What a gem of a place! For the price point you are getting a steal. During our week stay we were able to enjoy the fireworks and watch a Luau from our balcony. The condo is in a perfect position facing the ocean and have lots of shops in the lobby.
The locking system is a little confusing, make sure you turn the lock when you leave, but it’s nice not to have a key.
Also save yourself some money and park for free along the street. There’s free street parking along the river and side streets.
We travelled with kids but 4 adults would be a bit tight with the couch pullout.
We also went to the nut ridge luau. It was an amazing small luau. We had a great stay. Thanks for sharing your condo with us.

Aloha! The view from the Lanai never gets old! He has a lot of beach stuff which is nice!
Dave's ice cream in the hotel has $2 scoops on Tuesday and the ice cream is very good!
The pool is nice! They open at 7 for lap swimming which is very nice for 2 hours!
The kitchen is fully stocked which was fantastic so I went to both the Food Pantry and Safeway. The Food Pantry is walking distance and Safeway you have to drive.
I rented a car for 11 days and was able to find parking behind the hotel. The lot allowed me to buy a monthly pass for $150 which is cheaper than the $24/day there or the $35/day for valet at the hotel! This was the cheapest I could find.
The place is down at the other end of the strip so it is a walk for sure to get to the other end.
I think what VRBO charges for a fee is ridiculous though! For me it was $270 for the 11 days plus there was a damage fee which is non-refundable! Not Brad's fault but kind of stupid since VRBO did nothing for me!
Having the code key on the door was great so you did not have to worry about carrying anything around.
I will definitely come back!

Let first say this - the room at the Ilikai was great. It was clean, nice AC, comfortable beds, beach chairs available to use, and ease of checkin and checkout. No issues with the host or the process. The booking says valet parking is $35 a night, but much to our surprise, the price is actually $45 a night and shame on you for not giving big tips to the driver. The property needs updating, very old decor, slow elevators, and only one small elevator that luggage can be used on for checkin/checkout. The property was NOT kid friendly and not very “vacationer” welcome. They seemed to only care about the residents of the hotel and it was apparent that vacationers were a nuisance. The restaurant closed very early and the walk up bar was very frustrated with walk up orders, to the point they stopped service around 5:30. Also, the pool was only open from 7-7, of which 7am-830am reserved for lap swimming. At one point the pool attendant told us that the pool would be “ torturous” for our children. No jumping, no floaties, and no moving of deck chairs, unless you were a resident that “had an in” with the pool attendant, who again, only wanted to cater to the residents and made it very clear that vacationers are second to the resident members. I really hate leaving a bad review because the ease of checkin/checkout, the room, the amenities of the room, and responsiveness of the host was spot on…but the Ilikai experience was too non friendly and unfortunately that is a deal breaker for me

I loved being walking distance to go through Waikiki and also to head Ewa direction to Ala Moana and Kaka'ako. It can be noisy until about 11 so if you are an early sleeper take note. We were able to view the Hilton Hawaiian Village luau from the lanai (though I still recommend going to one in real life) and you can see the Friday night fireworks.
I loved how the door was a code not a key to keep tract of. The water pressure in the bathroom was great.

Very clean, has everything you would need.Maybe some extra small towels. Great location. Hilton lula is on the rooftop across the street at a distance but you can hear the music and see the dancers every night it was very nice. Owner doesn’t mention there is a wonderful lobby with stores and restaurants. We used Hui rideshare were the car was parked in the garage. Very good experience with Hui. Only problem we had was the both sides of the bed you feel like your going to fall out we put a pillow half way down the bed under the mattress and it solved the problem. Will happily rent again

We love this condo complex, we have stayed there many times. This unit has fabulous views and the hotel itself is beautiful. May I suggest a king sized bed rather than a queen???
Mahalo for a wonderful place to stay, our vacation was wonderful!

We were there for a weekend and loved the free hula show downstairs and the fireworks over the beach. We could have used more light and wine glasses, but otherwise we were comfortable.

Great location! There are tons of shops and places to eat within walking distance. The A/c was amazing.

We loved staying at this property for our belated honeymoon! The views from the balcony were breathtaking and perfect view for watching the fireworks show the Hilton hotel puts on. The condo is in a great location and we walked everywhere we could. The amenities in the room were wonderful and perfect for our stay. I know it’s an older building, but it would have been nice if the bathroom had a fan, other than that it was perfect!

Nice location. Condo was clean. Would like to have had soap provided in the shower and bathroom sink. We were given one toilet paper roll for 11 nights/12 days. ABC store was close so we bought our own soap and TP. Otherwise we were happy. Nice view of ocean.

My wife and I had the most incredible time. The lanai was perfect, whether for eating, enjoying the view, lounging, or watching the Hilton Hawaiian village Friday night fireworks. We will definitely be booking this again

MANY PROBLEMS W/ OWNER
The owner hadn't NO URRENT INFO about property. I didn't know how to understand the oven & tried for several days to call them w/ NO RESPONSE!!! It turns out that they hadn't UPDATED THE OWNER INFO on the paper left for us in the condo. There was no other supplies other than dawn for the dishes & cleaning products for the bathroom., a broom & dustpan but no mop & only s shop vacuum w/ only a hose! No plastic wrap, no wax paper no Pam spray & very limited supplies!!! We spent over $150 dollars on food & other supplies. We had to leave many of them behind for the cleaning crew as I couldn't cook as planned. What a waste of money after the EXPENSE OF THE BOOKING!! No response for our asking for a small refund!!!!! - K

Amazing stay in Waikiki
Everything about this location was amazing. Comfortable beds, clean amenities, location was equally great for exploring the city or setting out on adventures around Oahu. The view is stunning, water pressure was powerful and hot and perfect after a full day on the beach. Lots of elevators and they are fast, so don't worry that this location is the 16th floor, you'll be there in no time and ready to enjoy the balcony, full fridge and oven and maybe a little television in the evening to unwind.

Valet Parking
It was awesome we will definitely consider renting this space again. Easy access to the beach and the Ala Moana Center. The only thing is valet parking shows $28 per day the hotel rate now is $35 per day.

Great in most respects, not clean though!
I let the manager know that the unit wasn't cleaned well. This really upset me because I had to clean it. The kitchen was lacking, no measuring cups, no clean sponge, no Windex. Only a fitted sheet was put on the bed, no top sheet. Bedroom clock couldn't be plugged in, no space in the outlet. Lanai doors were very difficult to open. I tried to contact the cable company when the TV when out but, by mistake, I called the previous owner who was nice but wanted his name and number off the laminated sheet. I would return because I know the manager will make sure that the unit is clean next time. Marty Sellars

Great location, good view of ocean, needed better cleaning
We liked the condo a lot, except for the cleaning issue on day one. When we arrived the condo was supposed to be ready, but instead of having nice clean towels all folded and ready to use, there was a large basket in the bedroom closet full of damp and smelly towels. In addition, the bathroom had not been completely cleaned. Sink and shower were ok, but the toilet was a mess. Previous renter was a guy who could not hit the mark, and the dried remains all over the toilet grossed us out royally. But what could we do? We flew from mainland to Waikiki and couldn't just find some other place to move into, so had to make the best of it. After I cleaned the bathroom and put the basket of towels out on the balcony, my wife was ok with the place. It was good that they had an ample supply of good cleaning supplies in the condo. I contacted the owner and he was very apologetic about it. Said that he would talk to the cleaners and get us more towels and apologized for the state of the bathroom. He got us access to clean towels and two days later the dirty towels disappeared. I think that the owner is pretty new, at least this place was new to VRBO. We don't think that a cleaning fee is fair in a case like this.
I hope that going forward, they will make sure it is cleaned properly, as a second review like this would be very bad for business.
After that, the place was great. Good kitchen outfitted with what was needed to make our food. The A/C worked great - We had to keep it on low if on at all or we would get cold (in Hawaii!).
Bed was comfortable enough, if small for a queen. It seemed more of a double. The second bed, futon in the living room, had a problem with one half not going completely flat. That was ok for us, as there were 3 of us. But if 2 people needed to share it, it would be a problem.
Location was good. Lanai overlooking the pool area below and the Hilton Lagoon pond and ocean was just great.
Super close to all kinds of restaurants and the beach. Grocery shopping in the area is limited, being in downtown Waikiki, with only very expensive local grocery and ABC stores nearby. But we had a car, so easy to get to shopping. The parking valet service worked great for us - very quick and responsive. Super friendly. Everyone in the hotel/condo complex was helpful. And, there is a Dave's Ice Cream shop on the 1st floor - great thing for end of the day at the beach.
Lower score because of cleaning issue - big deal for us.

Great place to stay!
Stayed here with the wife and two kids (6 & 3) and it was perfect for us. No complaints. The AC kept the room plenty cool and it was just enough room for us. The location is great to walk to the beach and there are tons of restaurants nearby.

Great Place with an Awesome view!
Had an amazing time at Phi’s place. It was right next to the beach. Also enjoyed the extras with Lawn chairs, Umbrellas and Cooler. Would stay here again for sure.

Great view
This property was as expected- very small, with a small veranda, with a nice view. The high floor was nice. The veranda was worn, but usable. The inside furniture was also worn, and not very comfortable, except for the bed, which was great. It was good to have a ceiling fan in the bedroom. We did not turn on the TV.
We had a couple of issues with towels and broken beach chairs, and the owner addressed them, but he’s in Japan, so it took a while for him to get the messages and then to get the issues resolved.
The elevators were iffy. The entire time we were there approximately half were out of order. This created a problem due to COVID- we were trying to distance and mask up, others were not taking precautions, and were not respectful when we asked them to do so in the elevator. Because so many were out of order, there was always a line, and this problem was made worse. In non-COVID times you can jam an elevator, but since we were trying not to do that, it was an issue.
Parking was expensive. There’s a private lot behind the Ilikai for which you pay by the hour. There’s free parking on the street, but only during the day, and it fills up very early. If you get a free parking spot you need to remember to move the car. Dealing with it was a nuisance.
Since we are from the east coast, we woke very early the first couple of days we were there. We went out for a walk wrote sunrise and the homeless were everywhere. Very sad, and slightly unnerving. There was police action, too. Not sure if the area is very safe in the wee hours of the night. It was totally fine during the day.
The location was ok- it would have been better for us to be more centrally located in the beach area, but all Ubers know the facility.
I’d say this was a 3.5, I gave it a 4. Certainly ok, but not fantastic.
