The house was very clean with a nice porch and backyard. It was about a 10 minute walk to lower Harpers Ferry and Bolivar. The house was perfect for our nice weekend tripto celebrate our 10 year anniversary.

The Carrot Top Cottage exceeded our expectations! The house was stocked (minus food), like it would if you lived there. They even had cooking oil, salt/pepper, and plenty of dish towels in the kitchen. Our children enjoyed the upstairs. It's the kind of room I would have lived to have as a kid. We were greeted by deer and groundhogs in the yard. The Appalachian Trail was extremely close and easy to take down into town. Be prepared for a hike back up to the house if you walk to town, but you can do it! The location, supplies, and everything was top notch!

When me and my husband got to the cottage it instantly took us back to our childhood. The smells of the plants outside, the creaking of the screen door, the porch, the decor inside reminded me of grandmothers house. It is the cutest little house with so much detail. My boys had the loft upstairs and were so excited about the spiral staircase. Everyday there were three baby deer that would wonder up to the cottage. I give this a full 5 stars. We loved everything about this place. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful cottage. Charming decor. Spotless. Very impressed with the furnishings an such a comfortable bed. Great location. Very close to the Appalachian Trail and Thomas Jefferson Rock. Siiting on the porch in the evening watching the deer walk by. Wonderful property we highly recommend

What an amazing place! We had such a blast hanging out in Harper’s Ferry the week before Christmas for our mini-honeymoon. This cottage is everything we hoped for. It was perfect for just us but would also be perfect for a small family. I highly recommend staying at the Carrot Top Cottage.

My wife and I traveled for leisure and were happy to stay at Carrot Top Cottage. Commo from the hosts was timely and useful, the house itself cute, nicely situated, well-appointed, and comfortable. The Appalachian Trail was a few steps out the door and we watched the same family of deer emerge from the nearby woods every night as we lounged on the porch.

The cottage is absolutely adorable. Everything we needed was there. Communication with the owner was fantastic. Downsides were few. The house smelled terribly of moth balls. The outside really needs cleaned or power washed. There were cobb webs all over the porch, doors and windows. I did need to contact the owner regarding the upstairs air conditioner. They promptly responded and came to fix it within 30 minutes.

Harper's Ferry is an amazing location and great place to visit. The location of Carrot Top Cottage is within walking distance of every part of Harper's Ferry, including the Lower Town. The space within and around the cottage was ideal for us. It was nice for all of us to have our own space. The cottage is quaint and well-taken care of. I highly recommend it.

We could not have asked for a better location in Harpers Ferry! We loved the walkability to the river, to coffee shops, and to trails. Our only gripe is that our tired, middle aged backs could’ve used a bit comfier bed. Everything else was great!

I stayed at Carrot Top during one of the holiday weekend celebrations. It was the perfect location for walking into Lower Town and to Bolivar for the house tour, the parade, perforamnces at the church and all events in between. The area was nicely decorated and just lovely.
The Cottage is also the perfect location for getting to the AT and taking that in either direction, across the foot bridge, and up to Maryland Heights.
I spent two days working from the cottage and the sunny, cozy kitchen was the perfect spot for that . . . . surrounded by windows on three sides! Fresh air and sunshine feed the soul.
The upstairs bedroom and loft area didn't get used by me but it is just lovely. I adored the stained glass panels as well as the small window in the master bedroom on the first level. I also just LOVED the heated floor in the bathroom. It was just perfect for a chilly December visit.

We were so impressed with this cottage!!! And the location could not be more perfect for walking to everything in Harper's Ferry. We were blocks from the Appalachian Trail and a short walk to downtown and all of the shops and restaurants. The house is absolutely beautiful and comfortable and the yard is huge and beautiful (friendly deer at twilight). The porches have loads of comfortable seating as well.Carrot Top will be our "go to" when we are in the DC area!

A great cottage in the Camp Hill section just a five minute walk to Lower Town. Well laid out floor plan with a bright roomy kitchen. Hiking, sightseeing, and shopping were all within walking distance. After a full day of fun we were graced with deer grazing just outside our windows in the evenings! We would definitely stay at this place again!
