Neighborhood
See for yourself why Thomas Jefferson called this picturesque landscape ""perhaps one of the most stupendous scenes in nature.". There is always something going on in HF, be it a Civil War re-enactment or filming for upcoming film and documentaries (e.g. The Good Lord Bird on Showtime about John Brown, or Emperor, The Raid at Harpers Ferry 2020.). The Townhouse itself rests in a peaceful neighborhood that like all of Harpers Ferry is diametrical with some houses modern and pristine (like ours) and some old and weathered. It is the same no matter where you go in the 220 year old town. It is a quarter mile walk to Washington Street, the main drag that leads down into the Old Town Harpers Ferry. Washington Street has all the great restaurants, bars and occasional live music at the Anvil and the Barn, all within a quarter mile of the Townhouse. New: walk to the Wine Bar at the General Store on Washington St. with Weekend wine tastings of mostly international wines, also wine for sale. This guy is very knowledgeable about his wines. Walk over the hill behind the neighborhood to find the Potomac at the bottom. Tons of hiking trails just outside the front door to Bolivar Heights, or slightly longer hike to more famous hiking trails like the AT, Loudon Lookout Heights or Maryland Heights. Need a launch pad for visiting wineries and breweries? The TH is central to over 30 wineries and 10 breweries within 25 miles. Please don't drink and drive, you can take an Uber from here.
Fees
Pet Fee (if applicable) - Pets: We may allow pets on conditions. 1) pay the pet fee 2) follow local leash laws (all pets outside of house must be on a leash). 3) bag and pick up pet waste and dispose of in toilets or outside trashcan (but only if in a bag). If you bring a pet, please tell us and say you have a pet on your reservation as our cleaners charge us a $50 fee to use "odor ban" on the entire house and do extra cleaning for any pet hair. If they determine there was a pet they will charge me, and I'll pass the fee along to our guest. We have sensitive non-pet owner guests with allergies so the extra cleaning has to be extra detailed. Hence the fee. 100% of it goes to the cleaning crew. None to me.

Perfect getaway! The place was spotless, and the movie room was our favorite spot. We loved the design of the house and the town has so much charm. Can't wait to come back!

We spent quite some time looking for the perfect place for our summer vacation. When we found this house we knew this was it! It was the perfect home away from home! The house was not only beautiful, but it was also super clean. The house had everything we needed! We also loved its proximity to the store and eateries. As well as how close it was to all the sights. The best part for us was, after a long day of sightseeing and hiking, we would come home and relax in the awesome theater room.
Paul was a great host. I had a quick question for him and he immediately called me to respond.
We are already planning a return trip…

It was a nice stay. The area is great for walking. The venue was nice, just very vertical! Great communication with the host.

We can't say enough positive things about our stay at the townhouse. It's even better than the pictures. Each room had its own feel and the design elements were just really cool and thoughtful. I felt like I was in a catalog, but also the whole house was very cozy and comfortable. I'm already scouting out the West Elm dinner plates on eBay. We were a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens) plus 2 dogs, but we had enough space to not be on top of each other, especially with the media room in the converted garage. My kids basically set up shop down there.
It's only about 1.5 miles from the Harper's Ferry shops and sights. Theoretically walkable but there are stretches with no sidewalks and a big hill involved. We did the hiking trails across the street from the complex and those were lovely, plus the bigger trails at HF. Grocery stores and bigger shops within a 10-min drive. The complex itself is diametrical, with some houses run down and some in pristine condition (like Paul's place). We noticed it so I want to mention it, but we felt completely safe and comfortable. If you're bringing dogs, note that the yard is small but completely fenced in.
We visit my husband's family in western MD a few times a year, and I think we just found our new crash pad. It was the perfect home base during the holiday break and we can't wait to come back.

First of all, let me just say that Paul was so incredibly helpful and kind the entire time, from booking, to helping navigate, to arrival. He responded so quickly and it was truly such a pleasant experience to book with him.
As far as the house goes, WOW. I booked here as a little luxurious weekend getaway, and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, I barely even left to explore the town, there was just that much to enjoy in the home. Everything was gorgeous, and you can tell that every detail was meticulously planned for both aesthetic pleasure and comfort. And the movie room- I mean really, I cannot state how cool it was. Pictures do not do it justice. The mattresses were incredibly comfortable, and the master bathroom truly felt like a spa. To top it all off, everything was pristine. I look forward to visiting again.

Clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated townhome located just outside of Harpers Ferry, WV. Walking distance along a rural country road to local restaurants/shops in the town of Bolivar. Short drive to AT Conservancy, downtown Harpers Ferry, and local Civil War historical sites. Perfect spot for sister's getaway weekend, plenty of space for the three of us. Kitchen is well supplied if you prefer to cook at home. There are a lot of small details that make this place feel special, and the lovely master bedroom soaking tub is amazing after a long day of hiking. The only thing I would add is an ice machine, otherwise perfection.

We did a quick girls overnight stay here and the place was beautiful. The decor & amenities were perfect, and we loved the outdoor space. The beds were super comfortable as well. The host was awesome! He provided area guides & house information prior to the stay, and was incredibly responsive at all times. The home is about a 4-5min walk to a cute little restaurant & town, and not even a 5min drive to downtown Harper’s Ferry. There were also 2 great wineries a 15min drive away that we went to. If you have a longer stay, there are a few places to go rafting or tubing, which we plan to do next time. We will definitely stay here again!

We booked this property for a quick Mother’s Day trip and it was perfect for my family of 4 and two grandparents! The townhouse was clean, beautifully styled, and stocked with everything you need. Dining options were a short drive away and the locals were friendly. The most friendly was the property host who even stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. It was such a pleasant experience!

We enjoyed our stay. The townhouse was well stocked. We were unable to use the deck because of the rain. Thanks!

We had a great trip to harpers ferry with family from out of town. This place was extremely comfortable and clean. And the property owner was very responsive. I’d highly recommend.

The house is amazing! Featuring an incredible movie room, a beautiful kitchen/dining room, and a ton of Smart Features. The posting on Vrbo does it some Justice, but I was really wowed by the level of thought and detail the owner has put into the property, which showed in the welcome pdf he sent us (info for first aid, cleaning, how to use some appliances, where to find (X,y,z), as well as a guide to local activities. Harpers Ferry is beautiful and everyone was so welcoming, but our stay here was the treat, and we were very comfortable. Little touches or luxury really added to the experience: the amazing tub in the master bathroom; the leather couch that converts so you can lay down and watch the living room tv; all the connected speakers for music; One thing we would have liked to know ahead, though, is that the thermostat is locked, so if you sleep hot or anything, you might get uncomfortable. Otherwise, if you are looking for a relaxing place to enjoying some media, have a nice cup of coffee or tea, this is your home away from home.
