Whilst we enjoyed an upgrade from the lovely lady at the desk, not to our standard, 2nd day our dirty cups in the bedroom still left from not cleaned with cold coffee in the cups.
The shower needs some TLC on the screen the rubber falling off.

Breakfast tray was not collected 2 days in a row. Tray sat outside my room after 7.00pm even after advising front desk twice. Apart from the breakfast situation everything was lovely

Lovely hotel after a refurb , modern and comfortable rooms . Disappointed with a 4pm check in as it felt like we were hanging about waiting to get changed after travelling , but other than that all good

From first contact with reception staff to dining room staff to bar staff everyone showed professional at all times. Staff member who stood out was Eliza on reception whose smile was the best. Please pass on my gratitude to your staff especially Eliza. Our train journey home was appalling as 3 trains were severely delayed resulting in us missing connections and arriving home 2 hours late.
We need another holiday with you.
Thank you again

Very warm welcome into an impressive building. All staff were friendly and helpful. Large comfortable room. Great selection at breakfast.
Super convenient for the station, a little out of town but a pleasant walk . Will definitely stay again.

Nice location, clean, friendly helpful staff, breakfast was great also. Holel as some traditional ambiance from the good ole days, that's what made this stay a pleasure. Room was clean, spacious/comfortable. I'd stay here again!
paid parking at the rear.

Check in took about ten mins as they couldn't find my booking. Eventually got sorted and went to the room you had to be arnie to open that door it definitely wants looking at also the air conditioning when turning the light on in the bathroom wants sorting what an absolute racket that makes.there was also an unsightly hole in the bath that had been filled in with filler.not a great job either..the room however was clean and tidy.the breakfast was nice excluding the porridge that was something id not tasted since borstal.yuk..tge staff were great and looked v smart in their uniforms and were a credit to the hotel. The hotel is in a noisy part of chester right next to the station.

This was not our 1st stay at the Hotel and had had some good and earlier on not so good.
When we arrived we were given room 120 in the older part of the hotel after being told it had all been refurbished.
On entering our room my wife tripped over a section of damaged raised carpet just throu the door .
Between us we must of tripped 6 times usualy when the lights were off.
There was a large crack in the wall by the door running half the hight of the frame.
On leaving i stubbed my toe on some thing under the carpet hard and solid near the room desk.
We informed the staff on leaving but the way he replied to me sensed saying it was all new, that i was making it up.
But he will send maintainance to check .
The damage to the carpet looked at least a week old and what objects they had carpeted over we can only guess.
I would go back but to stay in the newer kings section next time.

All of the stay was amazing. Beautiful building. Friendly staff, especially Eliza who kindly upgraded our room! Food was lovely. Great bar area too. Cant fault anything, apart from our stay wasnt long enough! X

Excellent hotel, staff were brilliant, food very good, we got upgraded when we checked in. This would may have been for the £150 for small dog staying for 3 nights.
Room wasn’t cleaned 1st morning, which really surprised us. All in all, would we stay again, of course we would. But £50 a night for dog below is extortionate as no treats, bowls or bedding were provided.

Excellent hotel bar prices a bit expensive but overall brilliant

What a beautiful hotel. Loads of parking at the back and the train station over the road. We booked a suite and were blown away! The room was immaculate and huge. The biggest comfiest bed meant we had a great night sleep. Real value for money

I didn't like it very large and I personable so only stayed about an hour
£140 of taxi fares wasted unfortunately

Disappointing, paid for a suite that should have included a stocked mini bar, only to find an empty fridge.

Good location staff very helpful and wonderful breakfast

Whilst the staff and the food was very good, the hotel itself was dated. We found the rooms decor to be quite depressing. The bed was comfortable but when we weren’t sure how to turn the tv on, we found a thick layer of dust at the top of it. The door bar was held down with sticky tape and there were small areas of black mould in the bathroom.

This hotel was amazing took my best frien for a night away and we loved it the quality and respect you receive is absolutely amazing because of that we are staying again for a few night thank it was amazing

The good: AC with adjustable thermostat in the room, comfortable mattress and bedding, excellent English breakfast spread, spacious room, and helpful staff.
The bad: Parking is £15 per night in the weekend. Some hallways and the lift are a bit dark with dim orange lights. The bathroom felt old and the extract fan was slow.

We stayed at the Queen for a friend’s 60th birthday party at Chester races. The hotel is immaculate and full of character. Friendly service, reasonable bar prices and excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay again

Reception staff were super efficient and helpful on arrival however issues arose when we asked for a cup of tea in the bar area at night (10.30pm). We were informed we couldn’t have tea because the coffee machine had been cleaned. Another guest was told she couldn’t have a coffee at the same time. We asked to speak to a duty manager and were told no one was available.
We are so disappointed, we’ve stayed on numerous occasion but never experienced shoddy service before. The staff in the bar didn’t want to be there. They had time to make cocktails but not tea/coffee which take less time.

Hotel was okay. Staff was nice and helpful. It was a pain getting up to rooms with one elevator that was malfunctioning half of the time. Sometimes falling a fair distance. Enough to feel your legs almost breaking.

Clean and comfortable room with lovely hot water. Nicely cooked breakfast and as much or as little as you wanted. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient for the station and the attractions of the city.

Nice hotel with lovely friendly staff. It’s a short walk from Chester centre so ideally placed. Unfortunately we were put in rooms where we had to pass through scaffolding and workers who were repainting the stairwell. We also had drilling and banging from 8am, due to refurbishing. But my main gripe was that not only did the card key keep failing every time we left the room, so had to visit reception each day to get them replaced, but the lock on our door was actually changed whilst we were out. I made 4 visits to reception in 2 days to get new keys!

Left luggage in 2 hours early so was able to do tour of Chester. On arrival was given an upgrade which was very much appreciated.Hotel convenient for trains.A very high standard of cleanliness, desk, service and house staff very efficient and helpful.Avery comfortable hotel to relax in and enjoy. Will be returning very soon

The location was perfect because we were travelling by train. It is also very easy to take the bus to Chester Zoo from the hotel, and the city centre is withing walking distance. The straff is great and I love the king and queen theme of the hotel! There is a beautiful outdoor area too, with tables and sculptures. We stayed for only a night, but I would love to come back!
