Convenient location for shopping at Cheshire Oaks. Room was fine but right next to lifts so a bit noisy. Didn’t get a good sleep as the room phone started beeping at 1.50am and again 1/2hr later! Had to unplug from wall to make it stop. Supposedly it happened throughout the hotel. Also didn’t get the signature Doubletree cookies at check in.

Staff at reception, restaurant and also breakfast were all amazing. Housekeeping also came to make a bed up after a room change and was lovely and friendly. Whole place was immaculate. Spa was busier than we would’ve liked so struggled for a sunlounger, room was too warm too.

Cons -
Took 35 minutes to check in , walls are very thin , could hear the couple next door going at it and then showering and using the bathroom , towels in my room had stains.
Pro-
Nice area and building , complimentary drink on arrival , cookies once checked in , comfy bed

Nice room but there wasn’t enough towels and gowns for the amount of people. We also didn’t get offered a cookie when we arrived.

First was the reception lady who assisted my check in, it was terrible because i feel that i am not welcome to the place. No greetings and is not approachable. but when I finished she politely greeted other guest next to me. (White guest).
Same happened when i had my breakfast a different lady who's in the front desk of restaurant. It seems that they are only pleasant with white people . The customer service is terrible when it comes to me

Hotel is lovely, but got caught out by the 16 age limit for kids to use the pool. I understand the reasons why but this wasn't clearly indicated on the Hotels.com Web page. If it was we would have chosen the mecure down the road which is much cheaper and pool for all. Had 2 very disappointed kids.

Short stay in Chester. Hotel is a little outside of the city centre but the rooms are really nice, as is the bar area. The gym is great and popular. Would definitely come back here.

Great facilities and standard of accommodation for a reasonable price. Service at Breakfast is the only blight on our stay. We are awaiting management feedback after our formal complaint in check out as to how we were greeted.

Great staff, great hotel

Staff and service feedback would have been excellent for reception staff but restaurant staff were absent from post for so long that we crossed the restaurant to a desk where the young lass in attendance was chatting to a colleague and laughed at us for approaching the wrong station. We came to realise that the person with whom she was chatting was the one absent from post when we arrived to dine. Very rude on both counts.

Our stay here was overall excellent, rooms clean and comfortable, outside areas very good weather permitting, bar and restaurant very good and reasonably priced. Excellent location for visiting Chester and of course the Zoo.

Note the swimming pool is viewed as part of the spa so you are charged £20 if you just want a swim. Bit cheeky to be honest. Stayed in many hotels and none charged extra for use of the pool.
Room too hot and air conditioning obviously set to limit too high!

To be honest it was one of the worst nights sleep of my life. I went to reception to change rooms, due to all the leather on my bed being ripped and hanging off and certainly not the standard I would expect from a Hilton. The room I was moved to had a mattress where you could feel the springs and a constant noise all night from the vent, it won’t let me upload my video of the noise.

A lovely place to stay- very clean, hotel room comfy, bathroom great had all home comforts, shower excellent , large magnifying mirror to use if needed. Complimentary Shampoo, conditioner etc to use no need to take your own .
Great place to stay for the races. Taxi to and from good. A lovely spa even tho we had to £20 each it was very relaxing and the pools were lovely. Great over night stay. Breakfast really nice, more than enough and a lot of choice!! Thank-you we will definitely come back 😍

Very nice hotel in lovely grounds. Great bar and garden area if the sun is shining, which it was!
Room wasnt quite ready on time but complimentary drink in the sun made up for that!
Staff all very friendly. Food was nice. Reasonably priced.
Wife has stayed twice before on Spa days and I'd certainly return.

Use of the pool was 175 dollars Canadian for a 2 night stay, water was cold for bath or shower in our room the forst night, fixed the 2nd but no aknowledgment of the issue for our first night.
2.0 / 5.0
Its a great place the only issue is that for tge pool area you have to pay 20 per person for a 2 hour slot so morning swims weren't an option.

Check in was a practice in being inhospitable.

Extremely rude girl that checked us. Gave us no info about breakfast or where to park or how to get to the elevator. Didn’t offer us cookies either.
Just wanted us to move on…

We had a lovely stay, hotel is very clean, smells amazing, great, decor and room, well staffed, friendly staff. The food was great and the garden terrace a lovely place to sit and have a few drinks. Nice welcome touch with the warm chocolate cookie and Prosecco. Only negative was after I booked I got an email saying the spa is £20 per person to use which is unfair if you are a hotel resident, we didn’t use it.

I booked a two day stay at this hotel as a Suprise for my wifes birthday. I am a little disabled so i always book a room with a walk in shower. The pictures of the room on hotel.com showed my room to have a walk in shower with various complementary toiletries. When we checked in & arrived in our room we were both very disappointed the room was nothing like the room that i had seen when i booked it there was no walk in shower or complementary toiletries as shown in the pictures when i booked the room. The room had 1 small window in the corner of the room. We expressed at reception that i had booked a room with walk in shower but we were advised that we would need to pay for an upgrade room for walk in shower. I am disabled so i had to pay for a room upgrade. The lady on reception did allow us to have a one morning complementary breakfast & apologised for incorrect pictures being shown on hotel.com. The room that we ended up in was very nice but i had to pay for it. The hotel in general is also very nice and we may stay here again in the future.

Felt like paying a premium price and didn't experience much to enjoy. My friends had stayed before but I don't think will come back again.
We booked a spa package for before we could get check in which was straightforward. After we got changed and went to the pools, there were no seats for us. Despite signs saying towels couldn't be left on beds and that they would be cleared regularly, we never saw this happening. My spa treatment was also disappointing. I had a neck and back massage booked. It was down as a 25 minute appointment but it was less than 20 minutes in total, I checked. The facilities in the spa were alright, nothing special, just felt overcrowded.
Check in to the hotel was good and the staff at reception were nice. Pretty much all of the staff we interacted with were good.
The room we stayed in was a classic twin room. The room itself was everything we needed for our stay except the bed itself was so uncomfortable. Everyone in our group commented on how bad it was. We joked that we should have brought our own pillows because of how thin they were.
We used the restaurant on one of the nights and found it to be good. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Again, the staff here were attentive and service was good.
Breakfast was decent if not a bit chaotic. We were shown to our table and went up to the breakfast buffet. Within a couple of minutes of returning, we found our table had been given to another family by the staff. Buffet has a good variety.
