The property overall was beautiful and for the most part clean. Check in was a little slow we waited about an hour in line to be checked in, however I was grateful that our room was ready before 3pm. Majority of the staff did not speak nor understood English. This was very bothersome because it was hard for my family and I to communicate with staff. I was very upset that guests were allowed to smoke everywhere on the property. There should have been a designated area for smokers to smoke. I traveled with my sister whom is pregnant and it was not pleasant for her to inhale smoke the entire time on our trip. Service at the buffet was horrible. We spent 6 days on our first day eating at the buffet we were greeted and serviced with water and a drink of our choice by the staff. The remainder of our trip we had to constantly call for a staff member to provide us with water and drinks. Let’s not mentioned the fact that for the 6 days we spend at this hotel we got turned away from one of the buffet claiming that it is full. It did not matter what time of the day we attempted to eat there we were always turned away. It seems like staff were mostly catering to Hispanic guests. The best service/food we had was at the restaurants. I was disappointed at the fact that I had requested a complementary cake at La Brisa which was confirmed by two staff members in guest service, however when we got to the restaurant a cake was not provided. We were told the reservation was not made.

Nice for our family vacation with 6 and 4 yr old. Service is very basic from other places we have stayed. Sometimes that got frustrating when I needed something simple like a spoon haha but overall it didn’t ruin our trip. We didn’t expect it and just did all the things with the kids to have fun. My least favorite thing was how big the resort is and to get to one place to another especially in Aug when it’s very hot was not fun. The pools and the kids water park area was fun. Food is also very basic. If you are going for good food this is not your resort.

The hotel is located in a beautiful beach. The hotel maintains the beach and provides amenities for all types of travelers.

This place has changed since my last visit! There was a rough odor by the sports bar and bowling area. NO ac’s were working (basically eating dinner sweating). A lot of the staff are rude (wont acknowledge your presence, have an attitude as if your a bother) most restaurants were booked for reservation and this being a family trip we had to eat dinner at 10:45 at night while the kids were tired. Alcoholic drinks were not the greatest, food either. Only good side to this were the night shows staff were interactive, the disco, some pool staff. NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN OR RECOMMENDING IT TO ANYONE.

Everything about this resort was great! We had fantastic service from the staff! The food was delicious! Reservations to restaurants are a little hard as there is not much availability during normal meal times. The beach was beautiful!

The property has a good amount of child friendly activities. However, the rooms were very dusty and lacked regular sweeping and mopping. The bathrooms were clean on a very supervicial scale but upon looking deeply, hair and other particles were found around the shower area. In addition the hot tub, spouted dirty water through the pipe and once the turbos were turned on the water became brownish yellow. I was also very disappointed because on three separate occasions, I found roaches in the main buffet food court. It was very difficult to feel con like hygene was not a priority

This is a wonderful property with very kind staff and the shows are awesome. Angela canela went out of the box to help me doing what she’s not supposed to do very friendly but the manager mr Romer López was extremely kind and a wonderful human being

In all honesty this was my worst stay ever , it was one thing after another. First day the air conditioning did not work we called and complained spoke to Maria she said she would call someone to come check it waited 3 hours calling back in the mean time same response from everyone (I’ll send someone ) while I was waiting decided to shower and not even 5minutes into my shower it starts flooding . It flooded the bathroom entirely all the way to the door , I end up falling and bruising my knee ( I have a photo) I call again and finally 15 minutes later a lady shows up to clean the water I missed time with my family to wait for her to clean up the water ( took 30 minutes because there was so much water ) a maintenance guy comes looks at the shower for two minutes and says he fixed it as well as the air conditioner. 10 minutes after the leave it’s hot again I called and complained they said they were going to move us we waited again no one came and it was already late to move we had our daughter with us so I called again in the morning and had to call a total of three times because no one was picking up. I called 1602 to have my laundry picked up to be washed and again no one showed up to get it . We call again on our last night and they finally moved us at 11pm-12am because it was just too hot , mind you we leave the next day at 8am and our daughter is with us. Over all I couldn’t enjoy my vacation because I had to behind people to do their jobs I paid a lot of money worst stay

We made the best of a bad situation, from the start we didn’t feel welcomed. You didn’t get that good vacation vibe. Not very attentive at all. The food was ehh. Not 5 star at all maybe 3 star the only thing good was hibachi. You better make a reservation before you get to the resort they are booked two weeks ahead of when you get there. If you don’t speak Spanish you’re done. Thank God we speak Italian so we were somewhat able to understand. There is so much more I can say but I’ll leave it at this I won’t be back to Punta Cana again. The people who work at the resort make you feel that way, you will see it yourself to understand we spoke to a lot of different families and they all felt the same even a young couple we met at the airport on the way home who stayed here as well said the same. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful resort could be a little cleaner in the rooms but beautiful place if you can look past the food and the employees which we did and made the best of it

I went to this resort with my best friend, and we had a good time overall. The check-in process was an absolute nightmare. It took almost 2 hours to check in. You would think that the staff would be prepared for families and couples who have just been traveling for countless hours and just want to get to the room. They claim they speak english, this could not be further from the truth. we did end up getting an upgrade on our room, which was nice. However, when we got to the room, there was the smell of mold and then we saw physical mold on one of the pillows on the couch. The views from our room was very nice. The food was not very good, the only place I would recommend is the hibachi, but you must make a reservation as soon as you get to the resort because it is very popular. The Italian place made me so sick. I do not recommend it at all. try to avoid meats at the buffet telling you you won’t regret this decision. The pool was really nice and the beach was absolutely stunning. Crucito and Miguel at the pool bar took great care of us and we had lots of good laughs. Devi from the entertainment was also so awesome and we had some good laughs as well. The reservation man with the glasses was by far the most helpful and he was so kind! however, some of the other staff was incredibly rude and it was very difficult to communicate. Don’t stay more then five days, it was a lot. Disco was best part.

Overall, a decent experience. Was hoping for more. My review is coming from a father with two children and a husband . Prepare yourself to walk, bring comfortable shoes only. Even sandles. We all left with blisters and feet in pain. I actually run over 10 miles a week for reference and it still bothered me. literally a 8 to 14 minute walk from your room to anywhere. The grounds are beautiful. The major negatives were the drinks were lacking creativity. Same exact drinks I had when I went 10 years ago nothing new, mostly bottom shelf stuff as well for A high star rated hotel. Hotel won’t make you make reservations prior to arriving for dinner but then when you get there very limited times available. Very frustrating the amenities for the kids/activities were lacking. The main attraction was a pool party at 3 o’clock that turned into a raunchy bikini contest that is not appropriate for a family resort. Didn’t make sense to me as they have an adult only section that can accommodate this type of party. The only issue was with the restaurants, the buffet had more quality than them and also they only allow you to reserve 4 in advance even though you booked for 7 nights .

The property is beautiful. If you don’t speak Spanish, the staff will be rude or just ignore you. By far the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The food is okay, drinks as well. Will not be returning! I feel as though they don’t like Americans, but want our money. Even though it is a Spanish country, they did not include any American music at the club for 10-2. So we felt out of place.

For one the food is very mediocre and while staying I witnessed plenty of cross contamination. I am surprised I did not become more sick than I was. At Kyoto they cook all the raw meat together utilizing the same utensils. During breakfast they make omelets and the same fork they scramble the raw eggs with, they dip into the salt. The restaurant food is better than the Buffett however, we did run into problems at the steakhouse. The food did not come out as ordered and when requesting it to be corrected, it never occurred. Language barrier is huge and staff barely understand English. Staff members were complaining they were underpaid getting $8 an hr while being forced into 10 hr shifts. Staff members also stated multiple walked out the previous week due to working conditions and poor pay leaving them short staffed. Property smells like sewer. My mother witnessed a little boy fall off his kayak. The life guard was very slow to respond and many watched in fear as they yelled to grab his attention. When leaving the post, the life guard could barely swim and it took for another guest to save the boy in the water. My mothers room was unsanitary & had to fight for a new room only to find her bed infested with “flying ants”. The resort itself is beautiful— great beach, a lot to do, beautiful pools. For restaurant reservations push back on the initial times they offer or you will be booked for 10:45 pm dinners. If you pay the hostess, they are likely to give you an earlier time.

We had a great time at this resort! We were a group of 19 ranging from 11yrs-47yrs. The customer service was hit and miss. Some staff were great and some not so great. Our room was cleaned and restocked everyday throughout our 6 night stay. The beach and pools were wonderful. The resort inside and out was very clean. The food was not the best but I have not found a resort yet that has great food. I am not there for the food. I always found something to eat and my belly was always full.
There is plenty to do for kids and adults at this resort.
The Carey bar was great and also the pool bar located in the family section of the resort was also great! Overall, we had a great time!

Excelent , only complain was at buffet restaurant Miramar dinner time July 31, My family was denied access because dress code, they were not wet and casual beach dresses, manager was very rude, but te point is that same day we saw females wet and with same dresses and during our stay we saw lot of females with that outfit even wet having dinner at the same place with the same manager in there

It was difficult to get dining reservations. Our Tv was not working, shower handle broken. The TV was fixed after a day & so was the shower. The room had a musty, dirty odor it also took over a day to be addressed.

Food good but no easy way of booking activities and excursions. Other Barcelos have an app that allows you to see what’s going on and when. The numbers for events were down I assume because of the lack of understanding and initiative taken to get people involved. Some staff were less engaged but others were brilliant. The property itself is excellent

Starting with the exorbitant cost of transportation from the airport to the hotel, we were charged 95 dollars for a group of 10 people, and on our way back, 80 dollars for a total of 175 dollars.
Once checked in, we were not told if the loss of any key bracelet was a $50 charge. Mind you, the bracelets are held together with a cheap piece of metal.
The restaurants:
- Mexico Lindo, the service was outstanding, but I can't say the same for the food. This was terrible. I never had Al pastor tacos with barbecue sauce.
El Corral (a seafood restaurant) served spoiled fish, so we left the entire meal there.
- Santa Fe Steakhouse has a few water leaks. Also, the service here was horrible. The steak was just average.
- La Fuente restaurant was delicious, especially the paella, and the service was terrific.
- the kids club was great for the kids the young ladies take good care of the children.
The swimming pool was great, the bars also, the club and casino are fine

The place is very pleasant and has beautiful sorroudings. The beach is clean and big with clear waters. The only thing that I didn’t like was that the floor in room. It was very humid and slippery.
