I felt right at home. With bedroom, kitchen, private bath, and closet, I settled right in. Good water pressure, hair dryer, iron, kitchen utensils, and all the supplies I needed. Hot water came quickly, good water pressure. The staff and owner were friendly, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend this hotel. It's not on front street so was quiet. Only concern is steps up to the rooms, but it was fine for me.

Peaceful

The peaceful property is in walking distance to everything. There are beautiful plants everywhere. We stayed in room 12. We liked the size of the room and it was clean; however there was noticeable water damage. Certain areas of the flooring (in the bathroom and living area) were wet during our entire stay. We could not walk around in our socks without getting them wet. The shower was also extremely small.

Charming and out of the fray of busy Avalon, yet a two-minute walk and you're at the waterfront. You may not want to leave though.

I definitely recommend La Paloma to other travelers to Avalon. Great location. Very good and friendly staff. Nice and quiet especially in the evening. I have stayed there probably at least three times and will do so again next time I visit Avalon.

Everything was great and it was a beautiful place to stay

Really pretty good and exactly what we needed. Reasonably priced and quaint. Only complaint: No window screens and only a couple of teflon pots to cook in with just one lid

Great little hotel close to everything..effortless check in and out would highly recommend

We arrived at Friday night. Right after we took off from the Catalina Express, I called the front desk and told them that we would be there soon.
It only took 7 minutes from the terminal to the hotel, very walkable even with the suitcase.
The office is upstairs which is not accessible. But it is OK for my family. The staff was waiting in the office to check us in. Our room is on the top of the hallway with steps. It is not modern or fashionable, but very clean and cozy. We like the small kitchen and dining, which is very convenient for us.
The second morning, with the sunlight, we finally saw the gardens. Not big but very beautiful. BBQ is easy to use.
The location of the hotel is very quiet and convenient, close to Vons, the beach, the Museum of Art and History, and the marketplace. We had enough rest every day after a couple of activities.
If you don't mind stairs, and no need for free breakfast, I highly recommend this hotel.
By the way, the neighbors are very nice!! They have tons of bird feeders in their yards and balconies. We love to see birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds every morning and afternoon in the alley.

My wife and I had an amazing stay here! The staff and location made it perfect. Next time we come to Catalina, we'll be staying here!

Nice place if you like a quiet charming hotel.

This is our favorite hotel on the island. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and Vons grocery store. Tony who runs the hotel was very accommodating, attentive, personable and sweet. We stayed in unit 14 this time, two twin beds, private bedroom, kitchen and private balcony with a peekaboo ocean view and beautiful hillside views. We look forward to staying here again next summer!

Rooms were very clean and even though the building is quite old it is evident that it’s maintained with love!! Very quaint.

Very quaint little hotel, very old but maintained. Minimal supplies/no frills. Support staff very friendly and accommodating. Best room is room 2. We were in C, thought we had a kitchen but did not. The king sized bed with the pullout left little room to spare. Room 2 has a little patio off of it. The property is charming but a little dilapidated. Regardless, can walk to absolutely everything from here. Grocery store a 2 min walk.

I liked Tony’s and wife friendliness. They were very attentive to meeting our requests. Will definitely stay here again.

Love the place, so close to Vons and the beach is not far at all

We always stay here when we go to Catalina Island. It’s amazing.

This was my 7th stay at La Paloma and it was one of the best. This hotel is in the heart of Avalon within one block of the beach. The rooms have small kitchens and the atmosphere is family friendly. Is it fancy? No, but it is clean and quirky and nostalgic.

We absolutely loved this place! Very unique! We will stay there again. It was quiet and the staff was very helpful. Will stay there again.

Quaint, charming property located near the market. We were able to cook a few of our meals there, balancing our meal costs while on the island. Beds were comfortable and rooms were well appointed. We loved La Paloma Las Flores and will absolutely be back.

Perfect.

We arrive early than their check in time. And Tony was kind enough to accommodate us early with our check in.
We love that the place was so close to VONS and we are able to buy our groceries for our breakfast and everything are all walking distance.

Enjoyed the stay. But, you get what you pay for. That’s all I gotta say. One of the cheapest hotels on the island comes with its pros and cons that’s for sure.

Great for us, would be challenging with elderly or very young/mobility issues. We were in #8, at the top of the stairs. Very quiet. Felt like staying in grandmas cottage. Kitchenette includes a stove/oven. Great little courtyard.

Hotel was very charming, far enough from downtown to be extremely quiet, but close enough to be convenient. Staff and owner were very pleasant and helpful. If we come back one day to Catalina , it would be our choice.

Everyone was super friendly and helpful and they even had a little kitty hanging around the place that let me pet it

T he staff were very nice and friendly. I t was by mostly everything and the walk wasn.t bad to the shops and beach.

The classic old-time ambiance cannot be beat on the island. The cottages are separate so can you're not disturbed by sound through the walls. The staff is superb and they worked hard to support our odd schedule, allowing us to check-in and store luggage to accommodate our ferry arrival and departure. Best hotel on the island!

Tony greeted us and was so kind throughout our stay. The grounds are beautiful and create a calming oasis. The location is perfectly located and an easy walk to Avalon.

Ultimately this place was beautiful, and felt more like home than a hotel or similar. The people that checked us in were very helpful and hospitable. The only thing I’d say I was disappointed with, is the tv service. We were not able to watch tv without constant network interruptions. The restroom is pretty tiny. Everything else was comforting.

Staff was helpful and the area beautiful and easy to get to.

This was our second time here. Its close to the main area and is perfect for the weekend .

Beautiful quaint and cozy rooms nestled amongst a bunch of houses that seem to touch one another. I found myself in Italy as I walked across the vastly tiled ground with a bubbling fountain in the atrium surrounded by blooming foliage and and birds of paradise. We had to walk up about 20 flights of tiled stairs to our three room apartment which house three beds for hubby and me as well as our two grandchildren. Complete with kitchen appliances, air conditioning and a high tech heating system, and two smart televisions using the direct tv dish. We had a ball. This place is across the street from Vons and only three blocks from the town square where we ate our meals. It was an easy walk to the pier and to return the golf cart. La Paloma Flores is a friendly place.
