A very comfy bed but a tired room in desperate need of decoration, especially the bathroom, which was mouldy. Blinds in bedroom were naff. Advertised as “Fine Dining”, but certainly wasn’t. Chives on chips & over seasoned food isn’t the definition of “Fine Dining”.

This was just a quick stopover to go to an event in MK what a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. We were in the coach house in the courtyard and had a room for 3. This consisted of a double bed with bathroom and the sofa bed was in an adjoining room with an en-suite. Lovely beamed ceilings and quiet. Would definitely stay again if staying in MK. Didnt have food so cant comment but really lovely staff and good bar service.

A very comfortable stay, staff and host were lovely.

A very poor 4* hotel
Cheap and nasty soap in the bathroom - one soap does all bolted to the wall.
Coffee and tea facilities are very basic
Cobwebs from the top of the headboard to the ceiling and some kind of sweet under the bed.
No plugs near the bed and only 2 by the dressing table
Had to wait at reception to check in and the lady was pleasant but not very professional.
Air con unit had a spanner symbol on it which heated the room regardless of being set at 18C - when mentioned to young lady on reception she shrugged it off it "ah ok".
For 1 night as somewhere to sleep it was ok - if I had booked it as a 4* to spend more than 1 night and more time than just sleeping in the room I would have been disappointed.

Booked to stay for our anniversary weekend. Just somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of home. Found this place online and liked the look of it. It turned out to be an excellent choice. It’s a really lovely little hotel and the staff are all really lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely, good quality sausage, bacon and eggs! There are a couple of bits of touching up that need doing in the suite we were in. There could also be an improvement on sound proofing between the upstairs rooms and downstairs rooms in the gallery, it was quite noisy when upstairs were walking about and the fridge is actually warmer inside it that in the room. These are all minor things though and we will absolutely book again without a second thought.

The staff were lovely and keen to accommodate. The grounds are lovely. This is a hotel with potential but a long way to go based on our experience.
The suite we had needed significant maintenance work - smelt of damp, windows painted shut didn’t help us in our attempt to air it, fridge not working and was dirty, sink leaking, cold water tap barely turning on, bath had signs of a leak behind it (we didn’t therefore attempt to use it) and the very generous mastic glob to one side was half attached, and there was paint peeling from the one cabinet. Aircon also appeared not to be working, but given everything else we didn’t further investigate that. No chef at the weekends - we had stayed hoping for good food so that was a shame - but staff were very happy to provide plates and cutlery for our takeaway in the grounds and the bar remained open late for us. Breakfast the next day was a buffet but wasn’t worth it - hard times indeed when even the coffee isn’t any good.

Air conditioning broken. Overhead shower only had cold water therefore hand held shower head had to be used but this was difficult to mange. No bedside lamps. Only two sockets in whole room. Constant noise from bathroom.
Breakfast was self service and Luke warm. Breakfast said open until 9.30 but we were told it would close at 9.

Lovely room.
Would be good to know they don’t offer dinner at the weekends, we were not told until arrival.
Sofa bed needs a thicker mattress.
Lovely hotel though, we would return

The only thing that let the property done was the room we stopped in needs a refresh.
Bathroom looked tired
One of the curtains was ripped

Clean and accessible for check in very late (1am). Seeming slightly rundown/as if it could do with a bit of a makever but practical and functional.

Amazing hotel!! The manager was probably the best hotel manager I have ever spoken to! He made sure he personally greeted all the guests, taught people the history of the hotel and was able to speed up my check in by atleast 3hours with no extra charge! I will only stay here if I am in Milton Keynes now! Thank you so much!

I stayed for two night staff were nice sone were unsure of what they were doing. Fridge an AC didnt work in bedroom, no vegetarian options at breakfast had to request veggie sausages. The replenshiment of breakfast was slow. One staff member clearly didn't iron thier shirt badly crumpled was at breakfast service an was even more alarmed when they were at front desk, this doesnt show a good impressions well for me anyways. I was told the mini fridge in rooms do not WORK so unsure why they were advertised as i brought things that required refrigerating to my disbelief. The outside garden were unkempt with cigarettes butts so no dailiy clean of garden. But overall stay was pleasant an bed was comfortable, had a very discoloured quilt or matress protector wish i had unseen. Showr in bath was fine had a window. An was brought a rotating fan due to aif conditioning not working in august. Probably would stsy again for a 2 day break but would not pay same price nog worth it

We asked for a cheese plate for the room and were toldno even though its on the restaurant menu. Member of staff at breakfast was sat at the door didnt get up or show us a table. Had to ask to order. Mushrooms deep fried in fat

Lovely Junior Suite room but it looked out over the roof and onto other rooms. The fridge didn't work so could keep drinks cold. Plenty of space and a very comfortable bed. Nice to have dressing gown but i would have rather had a shower cap because of the waterfall shower, Would have been nice to have better tea/coffee making facilities. Really nice to be given Harrogate Water in the room. Air Conditioning Unit worked well.

We had a 3 day convention to attend which was very tiring, the hotel room was very comfortable, bathroom was good, the staff were really friendly and helpful and theres a lovely area to relax outside with beautiful countryside to enjoy. Nice bar area as well. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is being renovated and has not been open to the general public for very long. Amongst the problems we encountered were: the "fine dining" restaurant was not open, although bar meals were available; there was no wine or drinks list, so orders were placed without knowing the price; and the plumbing in our room was disastrous, with very low water pressure, and very poor shower. In addition, there was no lift for access to upper floor rooms. On the positive side, the staff were extremely friendly and efficient.

the bedroom was quite large and very quiet with a nice outlook. The shower was rather poor as the pressure was not enough. Breakfast was adequate but rather routine and service was not very helpful. The public rooms were nice and the location lovely.

Did not know until we got there that the hotel had only just re-opened after a refurb. What has been done so far is lovely. Well co-ordinated and comfortable. The room has everything you need in it. The restaurant ihas not yet re-opened but should be soon. There is a lovely pub just over the road if you want an evening meal. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Reception would not believe i had pre paid andxwanted me to pay. Checked on checkout and confirmed pre-paid. Rooms are left open until arrival meaning the dishonest amongst us can get access to any room and take items. Which you could be charged for if missing on departure. I had no hot water in morning tepid at best both shower and tap. Breakfast very poor selection for price. Toast, cereal, limited fruit fruit juices. Tea or coffee.
