About this house rental
New to Vrbo, June 2022! Welcoming new and returning guests since 2016 with outstanding reviews, the Barn at Bourne House is located between the Stowe Mountain Resort and the village of Stowe. You'll enjoy comfy beds, post & beam rustic spaces, mountain views and all the necessities for making your stay enjoyable. The Barn is convenient to shops and restaurants, the Recreation Path (Stowe Bike Bath) and trails. Skiing, mountain biking, hiking and beer tours are all nearby. A stone's throw from The Alchemist Brewery, home of Heady Topper IPA.
The Barn at Bourne House has a "great room" layout, with a stone gas fireplace. The kitchen area features banquette seating, granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. An antique desk and high speed wifi make working from the Barn comfortable and easy.
The primary bedroom has a queen bed with premium linens and cozy robes for two and a television with a Roku for streaming your favorites. The guest room has two twin beds and an armoire with robes, shelves and hanging space.
Adirondak chairs on a private stone patio on the ground floor level provide a place to relax and admire a field of wildflowers and views of the Worcester Mountain range.
While we rarely root for rain, we love the sound of it on the tin roof. We've provided plenty of cozy bedding and throws for cuddling up for a storm. Fluffy bath towels and plush robes may make it hard for you to peel yourself away!
We think the location of the Barn makes it the perfect home base for any visit to Stowe. It is furnished with boutique and antique items that make it feel like home. Some items we gathered while living in Belgium and the UK. Scott, a former officer in the US Navy, brought carpets back from Pakistan. Other items are antiques passed down from family or collected over the years. We think our guests notice the special qualities of the items we've added to make their stays more comfortable. We've had many remark that we've "thought of everything."
For guests with children or people who tend to make noise in their sleep, please note that the ceilings are all open to each other (see photos). The bathroom is located on the first floor. Living space, kitchen and bedrooms are on the second floor. We want our guests to be thrilled with their stay, so please be sure this is okay with you before booking. Guests with children please also note that it is not possible to gate the top of the stairs.
