First thing we noticed upon entering the room was a massive splatter on the inside of the door. It looked like either someone vomited on the door, or there was a massive blood splatter on it. Next, we realized that the piece to book the door chain with was missing, despite the chain still being on the frame. Instead of the mattresses being on bed frames, they were on giant metal boxes. The bathroom cleanliness wasn't great, but could've been worse. The beds were fairly clean. Comfort wise, the beds were exactly what you'd expect in this price point. As far as redeeming factors, the shower did work, including the hot water, and the front desk personnel seemed perfectly competent and friendly.

The room was dirty with cockroaches coming from underneath the bathroom sink. The house keeper folded the towels, didnt change it, but didnt make the bed or cleaned the bathroo..

The front desk guy is very rude, had roaches in the room. Prostitutes and Pimps out all night. Loud music all night.

Firstly, the television did not work. And then I seen roaches — in the bathroom, by the refrigerator, IN the refrigerator, on the desk. We did request switching but the hotel had none available so we were offered a partial refund for the night. I am still fighting on getting that back. I book through Hotels.Com often and at Red Roof often but I will NEVER be back at this one.

I enjoyed my stay. Ive stayed before the renovation and franchise change. The housekeepers were very pleasant and the African American receptionist was very well spoken and very courteous and she was was very patient when I had to run to the store to get money to pay for an extension.

Overall, for a quick one-night stay, it was fine. Key points: very clean (except for front door? I mean paint it); shower works well, price was right. Big negative: two clients fighting between 11-1 a.m. keeping weary travelers up.

The room is comfortable enough, basic, but with a decent TV and the bed was comfortable. Check-in was easy, but it was hard to hear the clerk through the bulletproof class. Location near the airport was great, and good restaurants nearby.

My stay was terrible and scary. Two unknown black individuals kept banging on my door demanding I return some merchandise to them. I told the gentleman I have no idea what he is talking about and I’m here visiting for daughter’s graduation. He insisted there is another person in my room but there was just myself. They eventually left. About half an hour later, they came back with the third person and demanding I give them whatever merchandise they were looking for. The third black gentleman with heavy built asked me the same thing and looking for a white individual. I responded the same way I did with first two individuals. As he was raised his shirt up to pull something on his waist, I dialed 911 and reported them. They hurriedly left as they see me talking to the dispatcher. I was able to give a brief description of the three individuals to law enforcement when they arrived momentarily. I reported the incident to the front desk and all they could say is “I’m sorry for the your experience. We’ll look into the camera to give to the police.” If they were watching the CCTV like they were suppose to, they could called 911 and reported the incident before something happens to me. Luckily I have the presence of mind to call 911 as they are not leaving until they get what they were asking for. I have never felt terrified staying in a hotel until now. I was not able to rest since then. Please be aware of your surroundings and don’t open your door if you’re staying in this hotel.

Everything was ok, Except the tv sound didn't work then the tv didn't work at all. Luckily i had my laptop. Also the people next to me played music and sang all night until the sun came up.

I never got anyone to check me in, I got there at 10:30pm, I had called the number to notify my arrival, and waited in the lobby for 10 min., the calls kept going straight to the voicemail, and I sat in my car for a long time and managed to find something much better. I need a refund from this place.

The front desk staff was rude and although it appears that they had renovated the rooms there was only one chair in it and no other place to sit other than the bed. The shower from the room above leaked into our shower. Altogether it is not even deserving of one star.

This property is fantastic for the price and always clean. The night front desk lady is not a people person at all and is rude. So I would suggest checking in by 4pm if you stay.

We got woken up in the early morning hours by one of the staff members just to ask "you check out today", I would be fine with this if it was a reasonable time but at 6am. To me that's not acceptable.

There was no toilet paper. Had to go ask the desk. Only one towel went to get another and the front desk told my son he was in the wrong hotel. There were boogers on the sheets of one bed. There was paper on the floor. The list goes on but this hotel was not clean

My stay at Sandston was terrible. The front desk guy literally harassed, lied to me, controlled, pressured and manipulating me into checking out asap saying that they could only accommodate me for 3 nights instead of the 6 nights that I paid for.
Upon calling hotel.com they told me the reservation couldn’t be changed or cancelled, if I were to do that I wouldn’t get a refund but every day during my stay he was putting pressure on my constantly to check out before my check out date which was on February the 12, he even lied to me saying that they already issued me the refund. But upon checking my bank account I saw there no refund for the 3 nights he claimed.
That guy is a lying crook, maybe he was hoping I would check out without my refund and wanted to rent the room to somebody else, anyway I didn’t give in into his sickness and manipulation but I never want to stay in Sandston inn again.
There is no hot water for shower in the morning. One morning while taking a quick shower, the water just cut off completely I had to come out of the tub with the soap residue on me, and calling the front desk they told me the city was doing some work that’s why they had to cut off the water but I knew they were lying, after 10 mm They turned in back on.
The wifi was not working when I called front desk they kept making excuses saying it was because of the rain but it didn’t rain every day that their WiFi never worked.

cleaning supplies left in the room we walked into (mop & bucket), beds weren’t made, the floor was dirty, & the door didn’t fully close. second room we walked into didn’t have 2 beds like we paid for. 3rd bedroom smelled like old smoke.

Great for business travel! Sure, the outside of the property needs work, but this was absolutely perfect for our business trip. Definitely worth staying if you are just in there to sleep and shower-- sheets were clean, bathroom was clean, and check in was easy-- which is all we can ask for in our travels!

This hotel was being renovated in certain parts. My room looked mostly renovated but had some issues with it. A hole in the bottom of the wall. Bar over the tub was loose and I was worried that it would snap and fall. The bottom wall border next to the bed and near the bathroom was loose too. Tv turned on but didn’t have any channels working. Traffic outside and the airport nearby made a lot of noise because of the vehicles and airplanes. Room key failed multiple times and had to get that dealt with which was frustrating. There were some good things though. The bed was fairly comfy. The air-conditioning unit seemed to work fairly well. Microwave and fridge worked fine too. The flooring was solid too. Didn’t see any bugs and the room was fairly clean and smelt fresh. I was in the non-smoking room though so I’m sure that helped. Overall, I’d only give this place like a 5 out of 10. Maybe once they complete the renovations and get things more in order then it could be a better place to stay at.
