Great location. Breakfast was nice.
This place was like somebody had bought a physical hotel but then decided to run it like and airbnb. I literally met one staff member one morning at breakfast for about 10 seconds (she seemed nice, btw!). Otherwise, I did not interact with anyone there.
Not great communication before I arrived - I had some difficulties with arrival as I had to change my flight, but every email I sent or message through booking.com went unanswered, instead I just got something emailed to me about car parking (I came by train).
I was sent a code for the front door, then another code to access my room key from a box in the front room. I didn't meet anybody and nobody checked me in. Nobody cleaned my room, either. If I wanted an impersonal stay at an airbnb, I would have booked an airbnb. I book small hotels because I like being able to meet local people.
Also the bed was comfortable but my room was really hot, luckily there was a fan in the room but I think I must have been above a boiler or something as the floor in the bathroom was very warm to stand on.

Breakfast was average
Awful right from the start you have to let yourself in with a code which was difficult to get place looked run down thought it was closed as no one to assist.eventually got in and room was old and dated shower door hanging off extremely slippery floor.bed wasn't a double couldn't even turn over as up against a wall.

Loved the room, bathroom a tad small but the access to the garden made up for it
Breakfast tasted good but service a but fawlty towers. Would have been nice to have the toast served separately rather than on the plate.

The flight of stairs up to our room (at the top) was quite steep and I am 80 years old, so getting up them was
not as easy as a room lower down.
I liked everything else about the place!

Lovely comfortable room. Very quiet. Felt safe. Brilliant breakfast
Not as close to where I needed to be as I thought

I didn't need to talk with anybody to check in
The shower was too small with it not fitting anyone over 5'9” (175.26cm) with the shower not working right as well. The bath mat was wet when I got there. The room was too hot with no AC. There were no curtains so I was woken up by the sun very early.

I liked everything !!!!!!! One of the best place I’ve ever been. The room was amazing and clean. 15 mins from the centre. Staff was unbelievably helpful.
Everything was perfect.

Great location and convenience, cheapest option in town!
Cramped room at the top, yoiu'll hit your head in the shower if you're over 5'9"! WIFI not great up there either. Heat not easily increased and still cold, promises extrra blanket but couldn't find it.

I enjoyed my stay. I travelled alone so I was a bit anxious. I can honestly say the staff, the room and faculties were great. It’s an old pub made into B/b
The breakfast and service were fab. 😋
There is a garden that you can sit in and share
I go back for sure. Thank you for an amazing stay.
The floor in room was 2 a little squeaky when you walk on it so I was mindful of the neighbours but it’s an old building so just one of those things.

This was my 2nd last room in England. A single night stay. I stood in my room regretting having to leave. Great, comfortable bed. Very bright space. Well thought out small bathroom. Lovely, friendly, accommodating proprietors. In room l'il fridge. Many outlets. Great cuddly big towels. Good water pressure . Good WiFi. Real coffee in room. Close to everything. Clever keying system. This was, soup to nuts, a great place to stay. Well done, ladies.
...having to leave. Stay here .

Location is great.
Breakfast wasn’t particularly notable, but generally palatable. Lack of a reception made check in a bit tricky - it was a bit more “self-serve” than I’d expect for a hotel/inn.

The bed was very comfortable.
This is an old building, full of character, but not even remotely soundproof. If you’re a light sleeper you’re very likely to be awoken by fellow travellers fumbling with the strange system of codes and locks and fobs which have entirely replaced any semblance of a welcoming staff.
The night I was there, a group of very drunk young men arrived in at 4.30am and shouted for almost an hour. They had a great night! I did not. And not even a single staff member to mention it to in the morning.

A character hotel located on a quiet street close to the centre of Canterbury. Very friendly and helpful people.

Very convenient location, walk distance to train station, coach station, bus station and the city centre. The contactless check-in and check-out instructions are very clear and understandable. Very good experience.

Very easy check in, but no contact with staff. Bedding fine and rom very clean, great location.
Room in attic a bit cramped and low ceiling even in the shower- not for anyone over 5'9. Noise travels too, had to listen to couple below having a row!

loved the location the staff were lovely so friendly and felt safe staying here
fab breakfast and very tasty
- the sensory light in the room was triggered by the slightest movement so woke me up a few times
- felt a little claustrophobic until I checked the lock on the door was ok and I could open from inside
- be good to have a spare phone charger as had to ask a fellow guest to email to ask to borrow a plug as my battery had died so I couldn’t message or ring to ask
- maybe have a landline phone in reception for easy accessibility

Contactless check-in is like a game, to me. The Guideline for searching the fob is clear. The fob is convenient to get in or out of the hotel.
The cook is so nice and the breakfast is hot enough and delicious.
The key box isn’t easy to open to get the fob.
The food quality is good but the quantity not enough to man.
The train cancellation added my tour to Canterbury more challenges. Even though having arrived at Canterbury, I took a difficult and long time to the West station / the hotel with heavy luggage.

Location
Attic room with huge draft , and a above all the heating was not working and deliberately set on low temperature so even if it was working could not start because on low setting. I did complain to the asked why in return I was told that the boiler has just broken down and they were waiting for engineer to sort out the problem. And I was not offered an alternative option to heat the room instead.

The hotel was only a 7 minute walk to Canterbury town centre but was on a quiet calm little street.
The room size was great and it was lovely and warm with a spare blanket. There was a kettle and a coffee pot to make teas and coffees as well as a little fridge if we had anything we wanted to keep in there. The bed was super comfy and shower was lovely.
Self check in and out was particularly handy and very secure and safe.
We did not have breakfast as I am gluten and dairy free and upon booking it didn't appear as though these two requirements could be catered for together. However the food did look lovely and I'd be happy to eat there if I didn't have intolerances!
The hotel also says that there is street parking between certain specified hours however the max stay is only 2 hours so unfortunately we had to pay for a car park nearby costing us over 30 quid for just a day and a bit.
