2.5
Amazing hotel with excellent location near everything. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back.
2.0
The hotel was very well located just off St Marc’s Square.
Really convenient for tourist sites, bars and restaurants.
The room was quaint and styled in a classical Venetian style.
The bar looked good, but never seemed to open ?
The inclusive buffet breakfast was particularly good in a building behind the main hotel.
We stayed at the end of October and the weather was still pretty warm.
The room was very warm over night for a couple of nights of our stay, but the central air conditioning had been turned off for Winter.
We had to open the window, but the room was on the main street and was particularly noisy. Especially when a music band went past at 5am !
The direct ferry to the airport from Rialto Bridge at 6:30am was a god send for us on an early flight.
2.5
Cannot beat the location. Staff was very friendly. Room was a little small but was what I was expecting. How much time will you be spending in your room anyway when in Venice.
2.0
Twin bed room is very small. Bathroom is very small also. Great location though.
2.5
Amazing location just 100 feet from St Marks Square. Took public transportation from Piazza Roma to San Marco and then a 10 minute walk to the hotel across St Marks Square crossing one bridge with 16 steps total. Used water taxi to get to airport fro San Marco pier.
Hotel staff was great, breakfast was good, lots to do in the area and the hotel gave great referrals for lunch, dinner and snacks.
Recommendations were all great places and within 5 to 10 minutes of the hotel.
Room was smaller than expected but was adequate for our four day stay.
10 minute walk straight west to Rialto Bridge! 30-40 minute walk to Piazza Roma from hotel.
I strongly recommend this hotel!

This is my 4th time staying at this hotel. This was the best room yet at this hotel. It is very well located. Friendly staff. Okay breakfast. Could use a lick of paint on the ceilings. Room was a nice size. Clean. Would recommend.

Check in was a bit abrupt was given unsuitable room but changed next day limited cupboard space breakfast very good and staff very good and helpful apart from the check in hotel was situated perfectly for all tourist attraction
4.0
The location was absolutely perfect for anyone wanting everything within easy reach. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly, and the room service was always on time.
3.0
The location was great, but a very busy location. It's literally steps from San Marco square. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. We had 6 nights on a horrible bed which needs replacing. Sore back & neck every morning. The flooring was loose and we kept tripping on it. We notified the staff twice and was ignored and never attended to. Hopefully, this hotel chain updates their rooms soon.
4.0
Right on San Marco Square, closse to everything.
2.5
Hotel is excellent. Beware cost of private water taxi .Came off a cruise but cost $100 for a 5 minutes private water taxi. No alternatives available. Getting to airport also a pain. Venice is still wonderful and the Royal San Marco is a nice central base to see the city.
2.5
Everything was wonderful! Staff was amazingly friendly! Only flower is the bed and pillows were too hard
4.0
I love it that the hotel is beside the grocery and a restaurant

Place was beautiful but the bed was VERY worn out. Difficult to have a good nights sleep.

Superbe hotel.

Rooms are small and furnished in traditional Venetian style not very modern. However location is great, staff very friendly, breakfast is good and rooms are clean
5.0
The San Marco is ideal as a base in Venice, so easy to get to places and a lovely decor making you feel you're in a special place. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Definitely stay tgete again.

Nice

Very friendly staff. Room a bit dated but fits in with Venice. Nice and clean. Comfortable beds. Excellent air conditioning. Very easy location from St Marks Square and from San Marco boat stop.
4.0
Nice , quaint, old school hotel. Small inside room, as are old hotels but nice location to all things.
5.0
This hotel is older, historic, and centrally located. Walking distance to anything you may want to see in Venice.
3.0
A/c bad in first room, had to force room change. Breakfast was mediocre and bar never opened. Front desk staff not friendly.
2.0
An excellent location

I would rather sleep on the street than stay here. Extremely overpriced for what we should have got. Beds are NOT queens. Full of springs and very uncomfortable. The room was ancient and smelled. The noise from the AC never stopped. We had a flood on our floor the first night. We were told to move for a suite only for the night. The only thing updated in the suite was the bathroom. Forget the WIFI it’s terrible. Breakfast is mediocre. We were not helped to move anything from one room to the next and then back again and I’m alone with 2 kids. Safe didn’t work, door handle was falling off.
I’m not the type to complain but this place is a one star at best. I was counting the minutes until we left.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. Overpriced and mouldy. And bug bites included overnight. Do yourself a favour. Stay away.

This was clearly NOT a 4 star hotel. The rooms were old and dated. Don’t be misled by other reviews. The only good thing about this place was the location.
2.0
The room was very dated and looked like it hadn't been changed since the 1970's
I was charged tourist tax at €4.5, €1 more than i was charged at another hotel a few days before. I stayed on the 25th June, which according to the Venice website was expect of tourist tax for those days. Bit of a scam being charged by the hotel when they know there is no tourist tax on the dates i stayed. Would not visit this hotel again.
Tourist tax dates in June 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29, 30 2024 (not the 25th and 26th when i stayed at this hotel.

Breakfast with a good selection of items
5.0
Cute Venetian style rooms, but give it a 4/5 on Cleanliness because it was a little dusty and my allergies did not like it. Other than that, would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice, the location is great with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The staff was extremely personable, responsive, and a helpful with everything.
4.0
Room was very small, but the hotel was very good and convenient for one night. Would stay there again. Staff very friendly and helpful.
2.0
I will never want to be in this hotel again
3.0
As all hotels in the area, this is very historic, old with very small rooms. Their rear courtyard was full of garbage but the hotel, rooms, staff and facilities were quite good and friendly. Just steps away from San Marcos, this is THE MOST CONVENIENT HOTEL TO THE ACTION in Venice.
1.0
Despite the affordable price, the service quality was disappointingly low and discriminatory. While I can tolerate poor facilities, the lack of professionalism and courtesy was unacceptable.
5.0
Location, location, location. Close to San Marco which meant we could meander down there every evening just to enjoy the ambience. It also meant the tourist attractions were close by as was the transportation to the airport and / or Burano / Murray etc. Worked for us!
2.0
Great location and hotel was nice apart from the fact that our room was so LOUD!! 4 nights and did not sleep due to the aircon outside our room.
4.0
Couldn't be better located. A little olde worlde Venetian style but we liked that. Bedding admittedly firm but we liked that too. Breakfast good. Boked s classic room with canal view but were given a mini suite with canal view.
1.5
Air conditioning didn’t work. Breakfast either undercooked like bacon or burnt like the eggs.
1.5
Very disappointing. We arrived late due to flight delays. Were given the incorrect room (cheaper room) by night staff and was told to see day staff to change. We eventually changed rooms which was great with views of the canal. The aircon did not work so they moved us to a suite this was worse than the basic double and bed was horrible. Staff were accomodating to move but 3 night stay with 3 moves put a damper on the trip and cut into our tours. Breakfast was fantastic bacon was the best. Great location 2 mins walk to the square and abundance of restaurants. Not one bad meal to be had by us. Gondola ride pick up drop off right at the canal next to hotel no need to book just wait.
3.0
Good location, close to water taxis. The hotel is cute and in a popular tourist area. Difficult to walk around the area with so many people. Minutes to Doge's Palace and St. Marks. Lots of dining and shopping. Hotel rooms were preserved from the 1400's. Mattresses and linens and furniture were from the 1500's.
Fairly average for the area just not
2.0
Shower was very small, left 2 towels for a 3 person hotel room. The beds really need to be replaced. Very loud mornings outside room. In room hairdryer is from the 1960’s.
