No the Hotels fault. The person next door had his TV up as loud and possible when I checked into my room on the 4th Floor. I could not really understand where it was coming from until I reached my room. I did not think too much about it as I was going out for dinner. When I returned it wa still as load. I had to call reception for them to come and ask them to turn it down but nobody answered the door. They then went and try to contact them via phone and then came back up again and finally got an answer. It was still loud until I ended up banging the wall. So at 11:30 it seemed to quieten down. Then at 07:15 next morning bang on it comes again. Walls and doors must be really thin or the person must have been dead. Anyway it wasted my night in Galway and Ila’s I said not really hotels fault.

Close to the excitement, but serene inside. Galway is famous for local music and nightlife, it is also a beautiful stop for nature lovers. Natural water scenes abound: the ocean, the bay, the roaring river Corrib, and every inch that connects them all. On a four star system they deserve five.

Waiting our turn to check-in I witnessed a receptionist unable to resolve another customer's check-in issue. She was discounting everything the customer said instead of working with the customer. It was rather off-putting to those of us waiting to check-in.
After we had checked in, we found the tv remote missing. I had to deal with this particular receptionist and she asked me what type of tv we had. I did not know and she said she would send someone up to take a look. That never happened. I had to ask a second receptionist to follow up and she promptly took care of the issue.
The second night we asked for a jug of water which never happened. Also later there was no hot water for a shower. We were told they were looking into it, and would notify us when it was resolved, but we never received a courtesy call. Luckily, the next morning we had hot water.
I think probably they are overwhelmed and have issues with that particular receptionist. The overall appearance left a bad impression. I would not stay there again.

Nice hotel. We were an hour early and were lucky our room was ready. Rooms are small, no fans. Could use a shelf in bath for toiletries, no space.
Updating hotel so had construction below us. Noise was minimal.
Elevators stop between floors so you do need to take luggage up and down several steps.

The Western was a wonderful experience. Great location and terrific staff. The concierge staff was helpful, efficient, and professional. The restaurant was some of the best food we had for the entire trip and the staff was friendly and organized. The bar staff was lovely and we enjoyed the live music. And the parking was easy- the valet staff was friendly and qualified. Overall, we would stay here again and would recommend it to our family and friends.

We were upgraded to a bigger suite upon arrival which was a nice surprise! Great views within a very walkable area. Really enjoyed our stay!

The hotel was in a great location about a 10 minute walk from the city center. It had free onsite parking which was really convenient. The restaurant was charming and had good food. The breakfast was nice. I would have given it a 5 but the hotel did not have air conditioning so we had to leave our windows open at night to keep the room cool and there was a lot of traffic noise. We brought a sound machine that helped but it would have been difficult to sleep without it.

We stayed at the apartments, which were spacious, clean and conveniently located. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating, especially Patty!

The room was clean and had all what we needed to enjoy our stay in the hotel. The pub at the ground floor was wonderful. We had dinner there and truly enjoyed the location and the food. The staff is truly kind and cares that guests enjoy their stay. I also suggest to visit the pubs nearby to appreciate the Irish music and the magical atmosphere.

This is a nice hotel, but be sure to ask for a room away from the main street. Otherwise you'll have a choice between having a quiet but stuffy room or a noisy but airy one.

Nice hotel with a good location. Our room on the second floor was right off the patio from the bar. It made it seem like 20 people were in our room at times. Very good location to Eyre Square and the ferries.

Good size room. In the city centre. Packed underground garage where people at the site move the cars to make place for all.

Great location. Property is a short <5 min walk to Shop St where the shopping and restaurants are.
To check in, there’s a tiny underground lot to park in while you register. They have a second garage with assigned spaces that you might get moved to depending on where your room is.
Our room had a sliding glass door that looked out to a small patio. Room was a good size for the 3 of us and clean.

Service was awesome. The room itself was interesting- it had a slight slant to it where the twin beds were and it made it feel like you would fall out of bed. It didn’t really bother us much. Beds were comfortable and was close to a lot of restaurants and shopping.

Small lobby and tight parking as is often the case in city hotels. However, the staff was very friendly. We had a great breakfast…we left early on our second morning and opted for breakfast on the road. Our absolute highlight of our stay here (and one of our highlights of our whole trip) was the live music session they had on Thursday night. There were 8 musicians and it was true session-style - they were not a band, they didn’t all know each other, they just showed up with their instruments and started playing together. They took turns picking the next song…it was all completely spontaneous. We loved every minute.

Lovely stay. Friendly staff.

The hotel was sub-par, rooms are in need of remodeling. The beds are uncomfortable. The air is stagnant and musty. I can't imagine what it would be like when the weather is warmer. No conditioner in the bathrooms. The bar is dark and lifeless. The staff is unpleasant.

So overall it is nice for a private hotel. AMERICANS Beware it does not have AC so you need to ask for fans. We were there in May and it doesn’t really get hot but it one point the room was stuffy so we went to turn on the AC and found out there wasn’t any. Fans were fine but you have to ask for them. The beds were comfy but the bathroom shower didn’t have a proper curtain or door and it was impossible to keep the water off the floor which is a slip risk. No easy place for a cab to pick up outside. Walking distance to Eyre square and bus and train station and the staff was incredibly nice.
