Overall nice hotel and would stay again. The beds aren’t that great and shower head was broken but it was a fair price and nice location.

If you stay here, have then arrange your tours. I used another service that wouldn't pick me up at the hotel. However, they called and got them changed for me. They provided excellent service. The hotel is outside of town so if you are looking for a quiet place located in the trees then I would highly recommend it.

Our family of four stayed in the family house and absolutely loved it. The staff was so friendly and attentive to our needs. The place was clean and the air conditioning was cool and there was space for all of us. We loved how they let us eat any fruit we found on the trees and on the surroundings. We found a coconut and they cracked it open for us too. It was so close to the town of San Ignacio as well. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and quiet place in the jungle with the most friendly staff

Peaceful little cabin in the jungle. There was an option for breakfast and dinner. There was a trail around the property, which was a nice little 25 minute hike in the jungle. Staff were friendly.

Staff was attentive and helpful, room was comfortable with tasty coffee and bottled water provided. Fabulous birding on the property trails.

This lodge was amazing, the room was clean and big, the whole site was gorgeous with so many huge plants and trees! There is also a small hike you can do around the lodge. The pool is great and the set up around it is really peaceful.
The staff is really nice and so helpful. They gave us a map to walk downtown, which is 15-20 mins by foot. We were 3 girls and never got worried about walking around. We took a cab to come back to the lodge at night since it’s on top of a hill and it gets dark at 6:30 there. The taxi fare was pretty cheap, around 10-15 BZE (you need to ask the driver for the price and negotiate before you get in the taxi).
Also the clerk at the front desk of the lodge booked all the activities we did during our stay. The company they suggested was very good. We did Actun Tunichill on the first day, Xunantunich and Nohoch Che’en (highlight of our trip) on the second day and Caracol with the Rio pools on our last day.
The lodge also has a cute little restaurant that is managed by a separate group of employees. You can book the restaurant with the reception and choose your meal in advance so when you get to your table it’s almost ready and you don’t have to wait. This was very useful especially on the mornings when we had to leave early for our daily activities.
We really enjoyed exploring San Ignacio, but it was also great to have a cool place to hang after our day. Would 100% recommend The Maya Mountains Lodge !

The property is beautifully maintained and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It's a little farther out of the "city centre" but taxis are easy and cheap. The rooms were very clean, excellent water pressure, pool was clean and the onsite meals were delicious and authentic. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Levi was great! And we saw a Tuscan!!

Wonderful resort and great service; it was truly enjoyable. Jina, Levi and Cesar were great, as well as Tio and his wife at the restaurant. Thanks! There was an error with our reservation through the third party, but they were quick to fix it with no issues. Also, they assisted us and booked a tour for one day to Flores, Guatemala that went exceptionally well. Totally recommend this resort when you’re in the area! Cheers and thanks again for hosting us.

Absolutely beautiful with excellent staff

This property is absolutely beautiful! With its lush jungle foliage and hiking Trail, it was very peaceful and tranquil. The small restaurant on site only offers breakfast and dinner, but their food was very good. The staff was fabulous. Just a 10 minute walk into town. I would definitely go back and recommend this property to my friends.

We loved our stay at the Maya Mountain Lodge! Very comfortable accommodations, great location, helpful friendly staff. Highly recommend!

This is a solid 3 star property. It is outside of town and the restaurant only serves if you order ahead. If you are traveling solo, they will not open the kitchen to serve just one , which is a bummer because there isn't anything close by. However, people were very kind and super helpful. The property is delightful. Just remember it is a 3 star.

The staff were excellent! Loved eating at the property restaurant. It's fun by a lovely local couple. The property is beautiful! I would have liked a little cleaner and more updated experience. There was a large hole in one towel, and a washcloth looked discolored. Being in the jungle meant lots of cobwebs on the screens and in hard to reach areas. Lots of handles on windows were missing knobs. The refrigerator smelled a bit as it is turned off when not in use. The pool was great! I would stay here again!

A true gem. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. There is no better feeling in the world than to wake up in such a peaceful place. I loved going to the pool mid day and also enjoyed eating at the small independently run restaurant on site. I wish I could have spent more time there.

Beautiful setting and a secluded cabana stay. The pool was wonderful.

We loved our stay at Maya mountain. The staff were so kind and could not do enough for us- they booked all our trips and transport with local taxi/ tour companies, they even arranged a night tour in the property’s grounds so we could see owls and other nocturnal time animals.
The room was perfect, great AC and a well stocked kitchen (coffee, tea, oil, salt, pepper, etc) so no need to buy anything other than food itself which was great.
We loved eating at the restaurant on-site for breakfast and dinner. The couple who ran it were so friendly and the food was delicious.
Finally, we loved the pool area and the fire area, it was touches like this that made the stay really amazing. Being able to sit out and enjoy being in the jungle and also cool off in a lovely pool. Also a great area to bird watch so bring your binoculars!
Thanks again to the team for making the stay so great, Sophie

We loved our stay at Maya Mountain. The staff and service was excellent. The pool and hiking trail were very nice. And, the walk to town was easy. It felt like we were staying at a eco lodge in the jungle but still close enough to enjoy the town and market.

Lodge was great. Very well kept and friendly staff
A bit difficult to find as there is a sign by road but no lighting.
We were in Chachalaca bungelo and lots of steps and no hand rail. Not the greatest for an older couple like us. There is dining on site and it was very good but a limited menu..

The resort was just what we were looking for - a base camp to explore nearby ruins, rivers and culture.

The pool was too cold to use in January, but we enjoyed the little hike above the property and saw Coatis running around. Getting the shower temperature regulated was a bit tricky, but having a screened in kitchen was nice. We also used the clothesline to dry our clothes after the ATM cave experience. It's very peaceful and we met a few other guests having dinner or breakfast there. We were able to bring our own wine since the dinner is catered in.

I can't say enough great things about Maya Mountain Lodge!! Levi and Jina took wonderful care of us the whole time. Tio and his family in the kitchen took care of our bellies the whole time :D
The rooms are basic but they go above and beyond to make them comfortable and special! The cleaners even put flowers in the bathroom each day. The pool area is lovely, I LOVE that they have yoga mats and blocks available to use whenever. The hiking trail was lovely (though calling it a hike is a bit of a stretch, was more like a 20 minute loop).
The location is great, especially if you have a car to get into town. Otherwise you can easily arrange a taxi for about $10USD (20 Belize) each way.
This place is SO affordable for what you get (honestly Jina, I think you can raise the prices a little LOL)! It felt like a family and we felt so welcome in Cayo. Can't recommend any more! Thank you again Levi and Gina for everything!!

Maya Mountain Lodge is set in dense forest with many beautiful tropical plants labelled for the enjoyment of guests. Staff are always available, friendly and helpful. The home-style cooking prepared by the lovely family that serves breakfast and and dinner at the resturant is excellent. We hope to return one day!

The staff are what makes this place excellent. They are attentive and caring. The folks in the restaurant are welcoming and make delicious food each night. It was a pleasure to stay here.

There are many things to like about Maya Mountain. Everyone that works there is extremely kind, responsive and helpful. The rooms are old but spacious, clean and bug free. Set just outside of San Ignacio, all the amazing activities present in the area are very close. Xunantunich, Cahal Peche, Barton Creek, ATM Cave, Oxmul Coffee Farm, 2 Butterfly farms, Rio Frio, The Market in San Ignacio, iguana and bird sanctuaries.
"Huts" located in the jungle with a modest but very clean and comfortable pool. We were treated like family. Kudos to Levi the manager.
The onsite restaurant, Tios Mayan Restaurant, is very special. This husband and wife team are really great. They went way out of there way to take care of us. Ask about things they can offer that are not on the menu.
Ok, the queen size bed is smaller than I like so I have to mention that. Internet, AC, hot water, maid service are all great.
Cannot think of a place we've stayed where we were treated better.

What a find! This place was perfect. We had the absolute best time, the staff were bar none! Jina was so helpful. Tio and his wife made the most amazing and healthy meals. I would recommend to stay here and experience the jungle. We love Belize!

We loved our stay. Staff were amazing and super helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Our room had a kitchen which was great to keep food for breakfast and snacks for the day plus for buying dinner from the market and reheating it later. We actually had to ask them not to come and clean because they were so diligent!!
The grounds and plants were beautiful. Lots of bird watching - even from the pool where we even saw a toucan!!
Awesome, we loved it. Can’t wait to come back and bring more of our family.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the lodge and will definitely plan on coming back! The property is gorgeous and guests have access to a hiking trail, massage, and an onsite restaurant. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable and Levi at the reception area went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, answer our questions and even drew us maps to local areas that we wanted to visit!

We stayed in the Toucan for 10 nights this June. We loved the staff! Levi brought us gifts of coconut and peanuts from his farm, and Mangos from the gardens. Every day the room was cleaned, fresh flowers in vases, and Emma made us a flower arrangements on the bed and fancy towel folds! We stayed at Marriott and Hilton and were never spoiled like this! The grounds are like a botanical jungle garden with birds everywhere. Be sure to try the restaurant. Tio and Francelia are great cooks and you can't beat the price. Breakfast and dinner Belizean style! 10/10 would recommend

Absolutely LOVED our stay here. The apartment cabin we rented was totally comfortable and well equipped with anything we could need. It was great having a little kitchen to use during our stay, and the porch & hammock were very relaxing. The property is so lush & beautiful with all kinds of flowering & fruit trees (free mangoes dropping daily!), & beautiful (quite chatty) birds everywhere. We were visited by hummingbirds every morning porch-side. The pool was clean and refreshing amid the high temps during the time we visited. Their hiking trail was perfect for a morning route. We only ate at the onsite cafe once, but it was delicious! The chef & his wife were so friendly. The star of this place is definitely the host who resides there, Levi. He went out of his way to help us get our bearings with transportation (incl bus & taxis), plan/arrange activities, suggest nearby restaurants, & even picked us ripe coconuts when my husband said he wanted to try one! I was really happy here and would love to return again before long. thank you!
