About this house rental

A house perfect for Playing Hooky is a newly renovated 3 bedroom 2 1/2 bath cozy and airy retreat perfectly located in the buzzing town of Hendersonville. You have the convenience of being right downtown but will feel secluded once you are surrounded by nature on our acer of mature trees with playful lawn and firepit.
We are just a 1.3 mile walk or bike ride from Main Street. The new Ecusta Trail is a 19.4 mile greenway along an old railway runs from downtown all the way to Brevard and can be accessed just steps away from the house. This central location is a perfect hub for exploring the all the waterfalls, hiking trails, and famous viewing spots of DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Ashville and all of WNC! Henderson is surrounded with amazing Wineries and original breweries perfect for fulling your evenings. (See my personal guidebook for our favorite places)

The space
This bright and airy home has a huge kitchen with everything you need including a dining room table that can seat 8! The cozy sectional faces a 55" TV and gas fireplace with a door opening out to the large upper deck. This main level has a guest 1/2bath, laundry room, and master suite with king size poster bed and double sink console with tub shower for its bathroom.
Downstairs has two more bedrooms, one suited with a queen bed and the other with twin beds and 55” Smart TV. The shared bathroom has a large vanity and tub shower. The lower-level deck has hammocks and stairs to access the rolling backyard with firepit, lawn chairs, and an herb garden you can snip from. The perfect backyard for roasting hotdogs, making s’mores and playing a game of horseshoes!

Great property near downtown. Every detail is covered in theis place. Open and comfortable livingroom, dining room, and kitchen with plenty of supplies. Beds were comfortable. Host was very kind and responsive when we had to change our plans. I will be staying here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! My wife loved the fresh flowers and all the special touches you offered - and I loved the cookies! Very convenient to downtown and all the surrounding hikes, restaurants and sites we came to see! Besides the 3-ring binder loaded with local information and "Things To Do", Mitzi also sent us a link listing of all her favorite local sites, restaurants, and fun places to visit. This house was very well supplied - every thing we needed from doing laundry to cooking supplies was there for our use. But there were tons of extras besides, including first aid kit, sun tan lotion, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee and tea, hair dryer/blower, laundry basket, blankets to use while watching TV in the living room, iron and ironing board, plenty of towels, toilet paper - the list goes on! Very clean and welcoming home!

This home is beautiful, clean and lacks for nothing! Great location and close to so much. Top of the line everything. The bedding was super comfortable as was the living room furniture. Very easy check in and minimal check out duties. We definitely hope to stay here next time we’re in the area! Thank you to our gracious host, Mitzi!

The home exceeded our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and very spacious. The host has thought of everything in this charming mountain home which makes it so relaxing. The location was ideal and allowed us to get around easily to everything we planned.

I have no idea how I never posted my review! This was such a nice place to stay and for the group of 7 of us to gather together and have a central hangout spot. We were in town for a book event at Point Lookout and needed a spot for all of us. There were plenty of beds, the open space for the kitchen and living room were what really drew us to the home. Homeowner was also great to work with even when a member of my party arrived ahead of schedule. I would recommend this to anyone who needs space for more than 5 people!

This property has tons of room inside and outside.. Spotless, well stocked kitchen perfect for family meals. There are plenty of bathrooms. Beds are comfortable and so is the living room furniture. A great place to call home for a few days.

Our family enjoyed staying at this home. It was a quick drive into Hendersonville and not far from apple farms and great waterfall hikes. The home was clean and well-kept. The back deck was a fun and relaxing place to hang out. We would definitely stay here again!

We stayed at the house for a long weekend and had such a wonderful time. The house had plenty of room to spread out and everything was so comfortable. We loved coming back after a long day around town and relaxing in the living room together. The listing was accurate and the house had all the extra things you might need on vacation for the kitchen and bathrooms. We would definitely stay in this house again when in the area.

House was near the downtown small community and had all that was needed for comfortable living. Enjoyed hiking to waterfalls and in mountain parks. Host was particularly helpful and I would stay again.

This house was beautifully decorated. Beds very comfortable. Nice neighborhood. We had family and friends and it was just perfect. Enjoyed the walk to downtown which took about 30 minutes. I would definitely start here again when in the area.

We were a group of five women who had not seen each other in 22 years! We met at Camp Ton-A-Wandah over 30 years ago and came to Hendersonville to honor the life of one of our camp sisters who passed away unexpectedly. Mitzi was an incredible host and communicating with her was a breeze! We loved the open floor plan upstairs with the massive sectional sofa and fireplace. We stayed up late both nights lounging on the sofa and sharing camp memories. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of bathrooms. We had enough space to park 3 cars in the driveway and 1 car in the garage. The house is close to everything including nice restaurants, grocery stores, hiking trails, and shopping. I would absolutely recommend this home if you are visiting Hendersonville!!

Beautiful home that had comfy beds, plenty of linens, all the kitchen essentials, and a few games for the family to enjoy. Quick drive to all the areas best destinations. Would definitely stay here again.
