Well worth the few minutes taxi ride into Ambleside to save a lot of money

Really beautiful location and a lovey old Manor House that’s now being put to great use! My room was clean and comfortable

The only thing we found disappointing was that the television didn’t work at all, there was no Ariel

Great stay. Perfect short walk to Ambleside with great views. Would definitely stay again.

Gorgeous stay, lovely views (and big window) even with awful weather! Spacious bathroom woth great shower.
We loved that there was a drying cupboard for wet coats, boots and dog towels!
It wasnt clear where to park for the scafell rooms, and ended up being quite a walk with our bags, dog cage and dog in the wind & rain.

Room only but good value for money especially during Peak season. Walking distance to Ambleside.

Had a great stay here in one of the lodges, room was nice and clean, really spacious, nice and warm, great location, good facilities for tea/ coffee, got a mini fridge too, not far from Ambleside cost £5 for a taxi, loads of space to park

Loved it here, will be back. Lovely big rooms with gorgeous views. Very quiet

Stayed in the main house and although the views are fantastic, it’s not quite worth it. Walls are very thin so you can hear a pin drop on the room next door so everything else was quite noisy. There are definitely better places to stay in the lakes.

We thought Brathay Hall is beautifully situated, our rooms ( Helvelyn 6& 8 )were rather cramped due to oversized Queen bed and not enough storage space for our clothes ,lack of hangers also, hot water was lute warm most of the time and also no heat from the Radiators( we told reception about this and it worked for one evening), a fan heater was offered, breakfast in the room was very good and the excellent staff were vere pleasant and accommodating. Overall we would reccomend a stay and we.would return.

Beautiful room, lovely views, nice walks, nice and helpful staff! I can only recommend a stay here.

Nice surroundings, withing walking distance from the town. Breakfast was a mix of cereal bars instead of a cooked breakfast.
Room was clean.
Friendly and helpful staff.

Because of Covid-19 we knew it would be a bit different but did not know until we arrived that we would have to eat a continental breakfast in our room and make our own drinks etc. Also no room service (was not entered by staff during our 2 night stay). Dirty crockery, beds unmade, bin - empty it yourself, towels left in shower but not removed/replaced. The room was treated for covid before our arrival, so we did feel very safe. Also, a good selection of cold food left for 2 breakfasts. Lovely views of deer nearby, from our room.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, but the weather kinda ruined it for the 2nd day for us. However we was very impressed with the hotel and service provided by them. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, The view from our room was magnificent and I don’t think we could have stayed in a better place in the Lake District.

No soap in the bathroom to shower with and the towel was tiny. My friend in the room next door didn’t have soap either? This is a basic thing really that should be standard in hotel rooms.....

The staff members were extremely helpful and friendly. The surroundings are spectacular and the view we had from our window was stunning. It can be a little bit tricky finding it so it is worth getting there when it is light. The room was extremely spacious and had everything we needed.

We were very disappointed that there was no breakfast and Expedia should have informed us at the time of booking. Staff were excellent went above and beyond to try to make our stay enjoyable.

We had a lovely spacious room with views out towards Ambleside. The shower was great, and the room was toasty. Shame there isn’t a fridge (it would have been helpful because we had sandwiches and juice etc. Fir packed lunches that we needed for our walks). Overall a pleasant stay and enjoyed the space and view.
