The hotel was ideally situated for shopping. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was modern and well equipped. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

The staff make this hotel & are excellent, even down to the room maid helping me to the lift with my luggage. The toiletries in the room are excellent. The lounge is excellent -warm and welcoming.
The hotel itself is tired & needs a huge refurbishment. Frayed stair carpets, old fashioned bathrooms with shower heads fixed to the wall, extremely poor lighting.
Absolutely worst of all, the beds are the most uncomfortable we've stayed in in years & need binning & replacing.
The bed linen & towels are cheap. There's no mattress toppers & the mattress protectors are cheap thin nylon which barely cover the mattress.
The 1st night we got into the bed & realised the mattress protector was rucked up & we wouldn't be able to sleep. Upon further inspection, it was 2 single zip-beds, with 1 single nylon mattress protector simply lying on one side (so not fixed to anything) and 1 double mattress protector that needed binning, laid over the other side. The quilt was in fact 2 single quilts placed in a king size quilt cover. Very little sleep was had.
We moved rooms & the second night we were in a king-size bed, but it was more uncomfortable than the zip-bed of night 1, with the thin nylon mattress protector & springs poking into us.
We don't drink, but they do provide a free bar in the room with free-flowing gin, vodka & whiskey, which probably explains the high ratings on the reviews.
If you want to get drunk & sleep anyway, book this hotel.
If you want a good night's sleep, don't

Fantastic hotel, great room, clean and right in the heart of the city.

Excellent location for train station and city centre shopping.
Hotel looking a bit shabby and rooms need modernising. However what a great touch a free mini bar, not sure on the quality of the spirits in decanters but the gin was more than palatable! The bed was very comfy though the pillows were low, hard and lumpy! Not keen on a shower in the bath but just my personal opinion. Restaurant disappointing, on the 7th floor giving a view over the city but menu very restrictive, portion sizes small and felt like being in a hospital cafeteria!
Would I stay again - yes for location but would probably eat out.

Great location, literally a two min walk from the train station. Central everything is in walking distance.
Nice clean room
Breakfast was good, a little of everything.
Would recommend staying higher than level 1 as street noise can be heard from early hours

Very conveniently located in the centre of Glasgow, a minute from the railway station and the main shopping area. Friendly staff and useful Club Lounge made our stay special.
Only slight downside is that the hotel could do with some updating in some areas (bathrooms, beds), otherwise lovely!

One overnight stay after returning to Glasgow airport. The bus from the airport stopped right outside the hotel, and we were getting the train home next day from Queen St Station which ich next door to the Hotel. Very handy. A lovely room too, with well stocked complimentary mini bar fridge.

We booked here very last minute on our way to Glasgow. We got a great deal and the room was really lovely and spacious. The bed was super comfy, it had a great shower and the complimentary mini bar was a lovely touch. Highly recommend a stay here, right next to Queen Street Station as well.

Lighting in room dismal, even with all 6 appliances on. Not bright enough to read. Tv-28 screen at the opposite side of the room, struggle to hear and see it. Would have been better mounted on the wall at the toilet door. Carpet torn behind the lamp and bed should have been repaired. The dark furniture is clumsy and surplus to requirements. Kettle in cupboard. Not sure if its safe. No extra pillows or cushions on the bed and the ones there slide down behind the headboard. Only 1 packet of biscuits both nights for 2 guests. 1 biscuit each. The room was not cheap and we were overall disappointed £254.70 for 2 nights. The only bonus was the mini bar, that was stocked both days and made use off it. Would i return. Probably not.

We have used this hotel in the past but will be reluctant to book there again. On the positives, our bed was amazing, very comfortable and clean linens, the shower was great with plenty hot water and the hospitality tray and mini bar was very generous. On the down side, the room was very badly lit and half of the room was almost in blackness.
Room 308 is a inside room so very poor natural light coming in the one window. We had to use our phone torch to read the Aircon/heating display. The dressing area by the wardrobe has no lighting whatsoever and the only way to see what you are doing is to leave the bathroom light on and the bathroom door wide open. We asked Reception to supply us with an extra lamp so that we could get dressed for a Wedding but the lamp never arrived. We were there for two nights and we never got an extra lamp. We had to move furniture and heavy floor lamps around to get some light into the room. Only one hand towel was supplied and there are some very dodgy and dusty wires connecting the heated towel rail to the power source in the bathroom. One of the lifts was constantly stuck at floor 6 during our two night stay so it meant that sometimes we had wait for quite a while to manage to get into the one remaining lift. At no point did anyone from the staff mention the broken lift. The hotel used to be a great treat and it’s expensive to stay there but Sorry folks. Will not use it again and would not recommend it

Receptionist very friendly and helpful, air conditioning not working properly but we were made of that free standing air unit supplied in room. Shower not the best very difficult to control the temperature. Hotel is in need of a bit of a refurbishment, location great for all our needs.

Hotel could use a thorough cleaning. When we were there the air conditioning wasn't working and we weren't informed at check in. Weren't able to open windows because we were in the 1st floor and it was very warm in the room overnight. Bed was comfortable and water pressure was good. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Great location close to Queen St station

We loved the location of the CG. It made exploring Glasgow easy and fun! We loved the morning breakfast in the top floor dining room. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the dinner. Options were limited and so so in taste.
Having only one of two elevators running was a source of frustration at times.
But our main issue was the temperature in our room. It was a sauna that made it unbearable and we could not find a way to adjust it and the windows would not open. No need for that kind of room temperature!!! Sleeping in it was difficult and other guests complained to us of the same issue so it wasn’t just our room.
