Quick and easy check in. The rooms are lovely and clean. We were celebrating a birthday which they helped by putting some little gifts in the room, very thoughtful and gratefully received!

City double room was ok but very little natural light as only window faced a wall in an air shaft.
During night very bright light from hall way shon through large gap under the door, had to cover gap with towel and if anyone used the bathroom during night the bedroom was flooded with light through glass panel in bathroom door.
So all in all a reasonably nice room was spoiled by lighting issues.

Excellent location to explore the city from. Less than a five minute walk from Waverley station and walking distance to lots of the tourist attractions. The staff were really friendly and helpful.
We stayed in a suite which was fantastic. The king size bed was really comfortable. Lovely free standing bath and huge shower in the bathroom. Great high quality toiletries too and the bathrobes and slippers were a lovely touch. Great room to unwind in after a day exploring the city.
We didn’t use the gym as it looked small. Mainly cardio machines with a few free weights and no benches. But the pool was lovely and warm and the sauna and steam rooms were great to use after a swim.

We had an amazing time at Apex Waterloo Place and will definitely be coming back next time we visit Edinburgh!
We arrived early and were kindly offered an early check in, as well as being told we had been given a free upgrade to a deluxe double room which was a lovely surprise.
The room was spacious and clean and had all the amenities we needed. The hotel is in a perfect location, a very short walk from the train station and the perfect distance from both old and new town. My only small issues were that the heating wasn't great so we were cold quite often and the fire alarm went off twice, one of the times waking us up and making us leave the hotel at 5am, although I do acknowledge this is no fault of the hotel staff.
Overall an amazing stay in an incredible city!

Hotel was under renovation and due to that, lobby was in a temporary location and access to elevators was through dining area, which was not very convenient with luggage. Other than that, stay was ok. Our rooms were good, comfortable bed and great shower and bath. Did not eat here so can’t comment on food. Bar area was not very appealing, but again, I think the temporary lobby was using up part of it.

The reception looks very temporary. I was given a room with no view one step down from the reception.
The room was ice cold when I arrived.
No phone signal in the room
The toilet did not flush properly
The shower had a leakage causing water to flood the bathroom floor
The bed was really tough - I could feel iron in my back
Tested the gym - very basic and tiny

very friendly staff even though the reception was being worked on the pop up worked fine. Great location very handy for everything. Room was lovely - just the windows needs a clean which brought it to 4 stars instead of 5

Stayed in Apex Waterloo 3 nights. If we had known that there was major construction to the main entry hall happening we’d of spent our money differently. Apex created a detour into a loud room with a potluck church basement type table and 2 receptionist set ups. Their space was shared with the bar, breakfast and meal area. Acoustics were numbing to the brain. Had to weave through food service dining area to get to the lifts. Ackward with suitcases and bags. Room was quiet, large for UK standards. No wall hooks in bathroom a pedestal sink is a nightmare for two sharing a bathroom. Small shelf above toilet was only counter top. A luggage rack would have been nice. Just meh for a “luxury” hotel.

Great welcome and overall good service during stay. Room was good size as corner room and big bathroom inc bath. Downside was lack of space for clothes with very limited hanging space or drawers. Also kettle and cup etc were in cupboard which steam up and only instant coffee. Ate at restaurant twice and food and service were excellent. Location is spot on as only 5 mins from train station. Overall would stay again

Clean room and bathroom with both shower and bathtub, room turning towards shopping center on the back of the hotel, not too noisy. Staff in lobby, bar and restaurant helpfull, cleaning lady nice and friendly. Close to sights, headoffice for hop on/hop off busses and a lot of nice dinning places - can only recommend

Great hotel! Very clean with comfortable beds and a great location. My only complaint is that there weren’t enough pubs in that area lol

I was given a room with milk glass in the windows and explained that due to some claustrophobia, it wasn't suitable. After a terrible fuss I was given an accessable room where the shower flooded the entire bathroom, light leaked in under a large gap under the door and the toilet didn't work properly. I was told the hotel was fully booked although the hotels own website indicated several rooms available. That said, the staff was very nice. I probably would not book here again.
