Don’t be fooled by the name! Happy Days Hotel is anything but. The ‘studio’ we booked looked nothing like the cozy apartment pictured online. It was a cramped room with an induction heater and a fridge, hardly ideal for a family. The advertised air conditioning turned out to be an extra cost, and the ‘free’ parking only appeared after we complained.
Arriving late at night after a flight delay, we were forced to lug our bags up two flights of stairs. The bathroom fan was so loud it nearly woke our baby. The bed, a small retractable sofa, was incredibly uncomfortable, providing little rest for our tired bodies after the long journey.
It’s clear that this hotel has no concept of family-friendly accommodations or basic customer service.
Avoid Happy Days Hotel at all costs if you value your sanity, sleep, and comfort!

great value for money, very affordable , clean and hotel bar serves delicious food. But what really sets the hotel apart from the rest is the family that owns the hotel. We have never experienced such friendliness, helpfulness and fun at a hotel before.
It can be a bit noisy outside until around midnight due to the relatively large number of young people in the hotel. But settles down again, since most of the younger people go to the Malia strip that’s about 15-20 minutes away.
If you’re not there to just party or to enjoy the beach the staff will also present you different kinds of activities that you can book there. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to do any of them, so can’t tell you much about them.

The hotel is quite good, and well served (a restaurant pub is present), and the staff is very efficient, professional and kind.
Unfortunately every service was at a surcharge (from the air conditioning, 8,5€ a day in a very hot room, to the key of the safe, 10€).
It was impossible to lock your terrace, so sometimes I found some people sitting in my chairs at five o' clock in the morning, having an ice cream ;-)

Bit worn out, clean though. Looks more like some dormitory - dozens of studios packed around a pool. Uncomfortable and bit noisy (due to the number of visitors everywhere around). Wouldn't want to stay any longer than that one night before departure - and that only because of the low price.

Behind the glossy facade Happy Days is a hotel that does not resemble its title in any shape or form.
The room was a pit resembling a prison cell more than holiday accommodation. Four walls no window(S) a patio door that looked out onto a white wall and a balcony that was another room without a roof.... no views....except for white walls. The room was unclean and equipped with stained bedlinen and towels, dirty kitchen utensils that I did not intend to use. The hotel is extremely noisy at night the bar staff shout at the guests and were very intimidating. On the second day of my stay upon returning to my room it became apparent very quickly that my belongings, suitcase and bags had been rummaged through. Lucky enough nothing was missing... I truly think that I disturbed them. However I was soon to discover that others had had their belongings searched to!! So I cut my stay short as I was a little unnerved.
This piece of information is worth keeping in mind if you stay at Happy Days.
There is absolutely no legal basis for a hotel to take your passport away from you. Your passport is an official document issued by your State authorities and NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU. IT BELONGS TO YOU AND THE COUNTRY WHICH ISSUED IT. A hotel receptionists have the legal right to identify and register the people staying at their hotel. So they can check your passport and write or copy your details. HOWEVER THEY SHOULD ALWAYS HAND IT BACK TO YOU ON A SIMPLE REQUEST.
