The hotel room was very clean.
Mapping and design of hotel isn't user friendly.
No vending machine or way to get snacks outside of gift shop that closed at 8pm wasn't the best for guests.
I went to the restaurant looking for anything simple to take back to the room but it was all fufu.
The staff was very nice but the property needs better signage and maybe a smaller snack bar.
Went to iron my shirt before leaving and black char was coming out of iron… not the house keepers fault just a old iron.
Easily the worst Hilton I've stayed.
3.0 / 5.0
The property was located really well for the beachfront and not too far away from a great restaurant area which you could walk out to. Staff were pleasant.
The experience at this hotel was underwhelming especially given that we had paid a very high room rate for two rooms during our stay. We wouldn’t usually complain but the hotel rooms were a bit tired. We had a slight leak from our toilet, the interconnecting door handle was nearly falling off etc. The pool was nice but we struggled to get a lounger for quite a while.
The main thing we had issue with is that our rooms were not visited by housekeeping. I tried to call guest services several times during the afternoon but the line rang out after spending far too long on hold. When I eventually got through at 5pm I was told they would come and make up our rooms.
We returned at 10.30 pm to find the rooms had not been made up so we were left with wet towels and unmade beds for 5 people, with tired kids. Not what you would expect for overpriced rooms.
Face to face the staff were nice and did give us token compensation for the lack of housekeeping but I’d rather not have to pay through the roof to spend time trying to get through to guest services and make all the beds and tidy our room when we are on holiday.

Location is awesome.
Cleanliness was not up to par for what is charged.

Rooms, location, facility and customer service were very good. Parking in/out set-up was very good too.
One building not having an elevator for the second floor. Also, for some reason, the hotel's reservation system had my reservation system double-booked even though Booking.com had the one room booked correctly. I decided to keep the extra room. Very expensive for 2-nights, but the location plus it is graduation weekend for the local university drives the market so it was not unexpected.

Loved the location and bike rentals right in site! We enjoyed the pool and pretty resort grounds. The lobby and restaurants were beautiful and accommodating.
Seemed in disrepair for the cost and beautiful location. Needed paint, carpets needed cleaning, building seemed a bit run down.

Room was nice.
Location was good.
Parking was easy.
1. Dirty dishes and Starbucks cups all over. One room had dirty plates hrs outside room for 15 hrs.
2. Received an email that said “total cost” and was charged “resort fees” when I checked in.
3. Bathtub didn’t drain during shower… gross!
4. Bikes not available after 5 pm.
5. Getting on WiFi took forever.

Breakfast was good. Location was excellent.
We paid cash for dinner. The next morning at breakfast we were told they didn't accept cash. The next morning the Starbucks wouldn't accept cash either. We were confused. I spoke to two reservations clerks and they were also confused!

Hi unfortunately I had the worse customer server ever . The only reason that I decided to stay here was because my son was getting merry the next day I arrived requested if I can get a check in a list one hour early they told they cleaning the room. They will text me that never happened I had to change in my car cause I had to be in the wedding I got back late that night about 12 O’clock and still I didn’t have a room I had to wait I will never stay there again also I will pass on the word to my friends and relatives . My son and family always used to stay there after this bad experience no more . I really think I should get refund for this booking . It wasn’t pleasant at all stay there .not only that I asked if I can check out a list one hour late they said No 👎 so ever all bad experience.

The location of the resort is very close to all of downtown area. The resort is nice & across the street from one of the best beaches in Santa Barbara.
The Amtrak train going by in the middle of the night blowing its whistle.

You can't beat the location. Large rooms right across from a beautiful beach. Very quiet and peaceful.
Needs updating, but it looks like they are in the process of doing that.

I loved the spacious clean room. I liked having the two restaurants on site. Nice and convenient.
The price was a bit high for our normal looking room with two beds.

Location
For a resort style hotel, the facilities and management thereof is outdated.

Spacious rooms
1-Train noise right outside the room facing the mountain ( not advertised ).
2- 300$ Additional fees charged for only 1 night ( not advertised either). And No explanation after various follow up emails. Nor corrections$$$$ either; 5 days later after my inquiries.
3- Hôtel is supposed / advertised as a beach front, but no beach front service ( like umbrella, chairs and towels on the beach). This is all extra to add ($$$) ( and carry ourselves on the beach ) if you want to go to the beach across the street ( so no even a real a » beach front » resort. It is more a « ocean view » resort.

bike rentals.
Dinner/ smores around the fire tables.
Having to carry dirty beach chairs given to us by the hotel all the way across the street.
Ridiculously expensive café

Nice hotel but vastly overpriced for the level of facilities and service
Price and lack of anything to justify such extremely expensive room rates. Was disappointed that this resort was so basic for the money charged.

We loved our room with the chaise lounge facing a quiet tree and garden. We were steps from the ocean as well as the pool, shuffle board and it was easy to park near our building. The pool was great. It was my mothers 80th birthday and she felt like she was in heaven. My 6 year old loved all of the mini golf, outdoor chess and the pool. We had amazing mahi tacos from the Set and really terrific Poke bowl from the Terrace. We were close to many amazing restaurants. We visited the zoo, the pier, rode bikes, went 2xs to the Natural History Museum butterfly garden. We really didn't want to leave.
For one, we were the 3rd person in line to check in and it took 45 minutes to get our turn. There was a line of 20 people behind us, some of whom left understandably. A first impression is everything. For the amount of money it costs to stay here, there should be a full staff at 4pm when check in occurs daily. That's a no brainer. They also should have had a beautiful drink station with fresh lemon/cucmber water while people waited but there was nothing.
The jacuuzi is WAY too small and was green with algae, but the pool was great. And the music at the pool was blasting too loud all day. Could be a bit more subtle and still be fun. We also ordered a poke bowl from the pool snack shack- you know raw fish lol and it took 45 minutes for them to make it.
There are no dog poop bag stations or cigarette trash receptacles around the property - so people left their dog poop on the lawn and cigarettes which no one cleaned up for 3 days.
Our room had quite a few unusual flaws. The bathroom did not have a fan or a heat lamp so everything in there stays wet and foggy. The shower head wouldn't turn on all the way and water was coming out of the faucet instead. Also our sink got clogged because the sink stopper was broken. Our time was short so we didn't ask to have a plumber come fix anything but they should check all units after every guest.
They give you a laughable 2 bottles of Costco water upon arrival and charge $7 for a tiny water in the room. For a resort, that should be unlimited.
The key cards had problems often going in and out of the gate which we had to have reset a few times. And there is no one at the entrance or exit to help you.

Location, clean
Staff didn’t try to solve my problem with booking.com booking (booked for two rooms while provided with one only). At the check out one experienced staff was able to explain the mistake and was very helpful.

location in SB / room comfort / beautiful lobby and view of the ocean from lobby nice
you are understaffed and you need a concierge desk/staff. Your front desk constantly had a line of at least 6 people, we gave up at one point the line was too long. We booked a king room with a balcony, got sent to a queen double room with no 'heads up fyi we are NOT giving you the room you booked' at all. was surprised and had to beg for a fix. You were appraently sold out. could not find my room reservation to begin with . Your front desk staff is inundated with guest requests that should go to a concierge like waters/ bike vouchers, tours, questions and your clear understaffing made it uncomfortable and long waits for everyone at the hotel.

Its convenient the Hilton is located right across the street from the beach. It’s nice that there’s a pool.
I spent $1200 per night for two nights in an oceanfront room. There’s no mini bar, no microwave, no bathrobe, no slippers, no room service of any kind, the room was kind of clean. There’s no ice machine close by, you have to pay over $40 per night to park your car. The phone in the room did not work. The outlets in the room didn’t work. If you go to the pool you can’t order food or drinks. NO SERVICE. anywhere ever. The front desk hardly ever answers the phone and the only way to communicate with the front desk is through the Hilton app. This place used to be high end. Sadly it’s gone wayyyyy downhill. At $1200 per night I should have every single thing mentioned above. They used to give you two free waters when you checked in and warm cookies. That perk is gone as well. It’s just not the same anymore at the sb Hilton. I even ordered DoorDash and the front desk wouldn’t even deliver it to my room. Unbelievable. $1200 per night and that’s how Guests get treated.

Room was great with a wonderful location near the pool. The grounds were quite pretty even after the drought and all the rain. My granddaughter used the pool and found it quite comfortable and it was big enough to get in a nice swim.
While the food is good, it is a bit over-priced. They did accommodate my granddaughter's fussiness and I was quite pleased with that.
Your concierge should know a bit more about the area. We walked over to the zoo and were told we could not come in without a reservation. The concierge did not tell us this. We did not get in. The walk was nice though.
