Very comfortable

The front desk was very understanding of my last minute request for late check out gave me and 45 min that was so helpful and extremely grateful. If I had not been give the extra time it would have made my entire departure very stressful so thank you!

The hotel itself was quite new and was nice despite the strong cleaning smell

The rooms smelled strongly of chlorine or cleaning products. Even with the doors and windows open the smell lingered

A Motel 7 across street from Ocean, if you are cool with that and $700 a night you are good!

We had the pool to ourselves on Saturday afternoon which was great, nice pool, only 3 lounge chairs which is strange but at least we were the only two there. When in the room the walls were made well, very little sound from other guests and outside noise, that was great! The mini fridge was a plus.

The bed/mattress was horrible, the floors in the room were filthy upon arrival and then had to ask to clean. The booking we made thru Booking.com was for 1st floor (had recent injury to knee so steps difficult) but when we got there they said, "did you book thru 3rd party", I said yes, my fault and they said "oh ya, they never give correct rooms when booking thru them". We both were completely shock at attention to detail at this property because we spent time at Del Marcos PS and La Serena PS and we loved both, amazing properties from Kirkwood.

quiet and restful

Room was newly remodeled and very clean. The staff were kind, friendly and helpful. They had coffee available in the morning and it was close to the beach.

Maybe some fruit and cereal in the morning to go with the coffee, cookies are nice but unable to eat them before something healthy first thing in the am.

front desk reception wasn’t great. the girl working when I checked in wasn’t very warm or welcoming and I couldn’t seem to get a straight answer when I asked questions. the rooms (we booked two for our family) we’re clean, but a couple of the towels in our room had some strange stain on it. the beds weren’t comfortable either. I just didn’t think it’s the best value for what you get. the “inn” seems to be trying for a cool, hipster vibe-and the website imparted that sense. however I was disappointed upon arrival to find it as a glorified motel.

It was a great place to stay and I would stay there again anytime.

I loved the location, being able to see the ocean from the room, the friendly staff, and the lobby treats.

The parking situation but that’s also not able to be fixed and didn’t deter from the stay.

Raven at the front desk has always been so nice and accommodating. Of course she is limited on what she can do with new ownership new rules.

I have always loved the Blue Sands Inn, however, things seem a little less friendly now that there is new ownership. Prices have gone up, if I bring my dog, we have to stay downstairs, and I asked to check out at noon instead of 11 and was told I would have to pay extra to do so. The Blue Sands Inn has always been my “go to” in Santa Barbara, but I am now thinking that I will start looking elsewhere.

great location for being active. beautiful view of beach.

Ocean view room is on display to people below on the sidewalk, in the parking lot, and in the street. this could have easily been addressed with top down bottom up shades. the only way to not be seen from outside is to close the shades and then you can’t see the ocean, which is amazing.
