Old hotel.
5.0 / 5.0
The friendliness of all the staff. Excellent customer service. Cookies and cold water in the reception area as late as 7pm. Quiet and clean. Plenty of towels.
Swimming pool was a little cold. Couldn't take breakfast to your room.
2.0 / 5.0
Huge rooms and decent amenities. Good location, convenient to the Oregon Zoo and downtown Portland. Seemed like a safe, non-sketchy area. Parking was free
Had issues accessing our room, keycards stopped working THREE TIMES and by the second time the receptionist didn’t believe that it was the actual keycards and thought we just weren’t swiping them right. Room was also missing TV remotes, which the front desk did replace, though they didn’t seem to believe that ours were actually missing. Despite being “smoke free” the elevator reeked of cigarettes and weed, and the hallways didn’t smell great either.

Completely ordinary roadside motel.
Seemed expensive for what it is.

Room was big, but old.
Breakfast terrible. It was run by an old guy with dirty clothes, who was using his hands (no gloves, no claws) to bring food. He was arranging the bread and everything with his hand. On the last morning, he was doing something with his hands in the omelet. The bread was very old. Everything was prepared in the microwave. Omelet was done in a plastic casserole in the microwave and also the sausages and bacon. There are no hygiene standards.

Friendly staff, very clean rooms.
Room not made up one day of my multi nite stay. Other than that oversite, housekeeping was excellent.
3.5 / 5.0
Room was comfortable and quiet.
Arrived in evening. Only one employee who was walking out of building as we entered. Didn't acknowledge us. Returned 5-10 minutes later and checked us in very slowly.

Food quality was adequate. Two coffee stations and ice water dispenser in lobby was nice.
Facilities maintenance was sub par. Bathroom florescent light didn't work so there was a living room lamp placed on the sink to light the room.
There was a cockroach in the small refrigerator.
Work-out center was dirty and in disarray.
4.0 / 5.0
easy to find, pool and hot tub were available, room and beds were clean.
pool had gobs off hair in it, most of the staff was unfriendly (woman who checked us in was fine), parking lot got FULL so if you leave in the evening for anything finding parking again is problematic.

Lobby was okay.
Lady at the front desk couldn't find my reservation. Booked for two nights, but got too tired four hours out and had to stop at a rest stop. Consequently for some reason she couldn't retrieve my second night. I spent 45 minutes standing in the lobby weaving from exhaustion as she tried and failed to get me checked in. She called corporate and they were useless. Finally called her boss on site. He was mostly useless. I couldn't follow the conversation between them as it was half English, half Hindi. Her boss agreed I should be checked in as a new walk in reservation and she would call corporate back to "figure out" my prior reservation from 15 hours earlier via Booking. Why couldn't anyone from front desk to corporate to her on site boss figure it out? I asked if the rate would be the same, $150.00 plus tax? She assured me it would and then tried to tell me it would be $170.00. I said no, I booked at $150.00. She tried to tell me that wasn't true. Last I checked two nights for a total of $336.00 doesn't work out to $170.00 a night. I HATE being gaslit, especially after 45 minutes of waiting for the hotel, corporate, anyone to figure it out...then try to change more by lying to my face. I finally had had enough. I asked for my ID back, told the lady at the front desk to forget it. Noted I had been up for 26 hours of driving and their version of "customer service" and incompetence was just wonderful. I turned to leave only to find in the prior 45 minutes about eight guests had arrived and been waiting for my never resolved situation to get fixed so they could check in. Why on earth didn't the hotel get a second person on the desk? This place is utterly incompetent and tried to gaslight me into paying more figuring I was too tired to fight them on it. They calculated incorrectly. I found a different place to stay half a mile away.
